[ENG-ESP] Makeup is medicine for the soul❤️

Durante los inicios de la pandemia del COVID-19 descubrí que tenía oculto un talento para el maquillaje, gracias a HIVE descubrí mientras creaba contenido para esta comunidad que el mundo del maquillaje no era simplemente verse bien y posar en unas cuantas fotografías.

During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic I discovered that I had a hidden talent for makeup, thanks to HIVE I discovered while creating content for this community that the world of makeup was not just about looking good and posing in a few pictures.

Existen técnicas, conocimientos, cuidado de la piel y un sin fin de cosas más que debemos tener en consideración al momento de iniciar un maquillaje; usualmente simplemente usamos base, corrector y polvo para ocultar las imperfecciones de nuestro rosto, sin darnos cuenta el daño que le hacemos a nuestra piel cuando aplicamos productos sin la previa preparación del rostro.

There are techniques, knowledge, skin care and an endless number of other things that we must take into consideration when we start a make-up; usually we simply use foundation, concealer and powder to hide the imperfections of our face, without realizing the damage we do to our skin when we apply products without prior preparation of the face.

También descubrí una pasión por el maquillaje artístico y aunque hasta el día de hoy no he realizado ningún curso, sé que soy muy buena para ello; considero que los mejores maquillajes que he realizado son artísticos, las fotografías son la mejor prueba de ello. Incluso tengo muchas ganas de aprender del maquillaje de efectos especiales, eso de crear heridas falsas es algo que llama mucho la atención en mí (aunque para ser sincera, no me gustan las películas de terror ni ver mucha sangre; pero estos maquillajes sí).

I also discovered a passion for artistic make-up and even though I haven't taken any course to this day, I know I'm very good at it; I consider that the best make-ups I've done are artistic, the pictures are the best proof of that. I even have a great desire to learn about special effects makeup, that of creating fake wounds is something that attracts a lot of attention in me (although to be honest, I don't like horror movies or seeing a lot of blood; but these makeups do).

Antes creaba mucho contenido para esta comunidad de maquillaje, usaba esos momentos para practicar técnicas que veía en diferentes aplicaciones como YouTube, Instagram, tiktok y facebook dónde el principal contenido que consumo es de maquillaje; aunque no es igual que una profesora te explique de manera presencial estas plataformas y el autoaprendizaje ayuda mucho al crecimiento personal y profesional.

I used to create a lot of content for this makeup community, I used those moments to practice techniques that I saw on different applications like YouTube, Instagram, tiktok and facebook where the main content I consume is makeup; although it is not the same as a teacher explaining you in person these platforms and self-learning helps a lot to personal and professional growth.

Cuando dejé de hacer vida en HIVE aun así hacia maquillajes y tomaba fotos de ellos con la esperanza de "algún día" hacerlo contenido; así duré muchos meses y hasta el día de hoy no he realizado un post de esos maquillajes.

Pero en ese proceso descubrí algo más, incluso más importante que realizar los posts...

When I stopped doing life in HIVE I still did makeovers and took pictures of them with the hope of "someday" making them into content; I lasted many months and to this day I haven't done a post of those makeovers.

But in that process I discovered something else, even more important than making the posts....

Las fotos que he mostrado a lo largo de este post fue de un maquillaje que realicé simplemente porque había tenido un mal día y quería de alguna forma poder mejorar todo aquello que me había pasado...

The photos that I have shown throughout this post were of a makeup that I did simply because I had had a bad day and I wanted to somehow be able to improve everything that had happened to me...

¡Tomé mis brochas! Y aunque tomé solo una foto del proceso, luego me olvidé de crear contenido y solo me concentré en hacer arte en mí. Así descubrí que:

"El maquillaje es medicina para el alma"

I took my brushes! And although I took just one photo of the process, I then forgot about creating content and just focused on making art on me. That's how I discovered that:

"Makeup is medicine for the soul".

Luego de haber terminado y ver el resultado, mi día mejoró y ya estaba anímicamente mejor. No sabía que tan solo dedicar tiempo de hacer arte podría cambiar tantos sentimientos en mí, pero solo lo aprendí en este proceso de HIVE.

Creo que cada uno tiene una medicina para su alma, cada persona tiene una forma diferente de alegrar sus días y eso está bien...

After I finished and saw the result, my day got better and I was already in a better mood. I didn't know that just taking the time to make art could change so many feelings in me, but I only learned that in this HIVE process.

I think everyone has a medicine for their soul, everyone has a different way to brighten their day and that's okay....
