As we want refreshments, our feet brought us to Dear Joe Coffee and Juice, also known as Joe's Tavern - Market Friday.

Weeks ago. I shared about Crosswinds Tagaytay where we spent some time. One of the tourist attractions that I included a photo of was the Dear Joe Cafe or also known as Joe's Tavern.

It was also called Tavern on the second floor, where you could purchase some beers. On the ground floor were food, fresh shakes, cakes, ice cream, coffee, etc. This was located near the entrance where day tour tourists are around to roam around.
As for the husband and I, we got tired from walking and been wanting for some refreshments. Also, to sit and rest for a while. So, our feet brought us here (there were only two options, lol.)
The Cafe/Tavern looks attractive because of the rustic and old vibes.

I Found this wall lamp and clock cute that I couldn't resist taking a photo of. Outside are several chairs if you choose to stay here.
As we went inside, find this corner where you can find a mailbox where you can drop your letter to Joe.

At first, I took a picture from afar as I was shy. The customer's inside looks well off; they just went here for relaxation. That made me cautious with my gestures, lol. However, I wasn't satisfied, so I took a close-up.
I made a mental note to ask one of the staff what is this more, but I forgot since I was exhausted. Hmm, looking at I think this is a suggestion or feedback box.
On the other side of the Cafe, there are a few pieces of mailbox to fix on the wall that may be for decorations.

The lamps were decorated using rattan.

At the counter, beside the ice cream and cakes, was decorated with fresh fruits.

Aside from this, several indoor plants give the whole shop a homey feeling.

There were a lot of choices for refreshments, but since it was already afternoon, we ordered fresh fruit shakes that cost $9.47. I seldom dine outside, and honestly, I find it expensive 🤣. On regular days, I won't dare to buy. I could buy a fresh fruit shake for $1 in the place I am living in the city. Taste great too! But, it's not always that the husband and I go out and spend some time, right? I also consider it one of my great memories. With that consoling thought, I added a slice of chocolate cherry cheesecake for $5.18.
After claiming our order, we opted to sit upstairs as I had planned.

Second floor is Tavern remember? So, this is what it looks like, still with the same ambiance as the Cafe downstairs. There are several tables; as you can see, it was not yet occupied since it was still early.
We walked straight and headed to the balcony area, as I was also want to wait for the sunset there.
For a while, we opted to rest while enjoying the cold fruit shake paired with this yummy cake.

This is what I got for $14.66. It was worth the penny I paid as it tasted great. Good food + nice place + special someone = time well spent.
While eating, we've been discussing some things about our future. What our plans A and B be if the earlier failed? Some deep conversations made me realize how mature we are now compared to our first date a decade ago 🤣.
Oh, this is what you can see from the balcony.

Staring at the sky for a few seconds made me realize our spot could have been better if we wanted to wait for the sunset. It was on the other side.
We were also done and felt recharged, so we opted to leave the Cafe and started to roam around. Look for the best spot.

What a lovely place this was and it was made even better by being with the one you love. How nice! Some days, I think we have to let ourselves be treated special. I don't eat away from home that much and I had to train myself to be appreciative of being taken out. It is not that I don't think I deserve it, but, things are so expensive, and honestly, many times, it tastes better at home. LOL But not always! Your cheesecake looked amazing and the drink sounded/look refreshing! Joe's looks like a fun place to go - and it is decorated so nicely! Thanks for taking us along!
#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.
Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday
Same with the husband, he doesn't like the idea most of the time dining outside as he prefers to cook at home..well he cooks well, yet yeah sometimes we also need that we deserve a treat feeling.
Yes, the cheesecake was superb and not too sweet considering it was chocolate flavored!
Thanks for giving time to read my blog.
It was a real pleasure!~
