Another Day in Battle… and My Vote for Splinterlands in the Blockchain Game Awards 2025

In my previous post, I shared my progress in Frontier Format and my recent upgrades related to cards of the Foundation set.

In today's post, I'm sharing my gaming activity and progress in the Modern Format, but first I want to dedicate a paragraph of my post to Splinterlands' nomination for the Blockchain Game Awards 2025.

Splinterlands has been nominated for Best Card Game.

In the 2024 edition, Splinterlands came second in the same category in which it is nominated this year.

Hive is my favorite blockchain platform, Hive-based games are one of my passions, and Splinterlands is my favorite Hive-based game.

Voting for a Hive-based game in a competition of games developed on different blockchains helps promote both Splinterlands and Hive, and for this reason, just as I did in previous editions of this competition, today I voted for Splinterlands.

Voting allows you to support your favorite games and also gives you the chance to participate in a drawing for an iPhone 17 Pro.

To make voting easier for those who want to vote for Splinterlands as I did, I will show you the steps I took to vote.

I went to https://playtoearn.com/awards/vote/best_card_game and clicked on Login to vote

There are several options for logging in.
I chose to log in with Google, but you can, of course, choose whichever option you prefer.

On the next screen, I typed Splinterlands in the search field.

Then I clicked on the white circle to the right of the Splinterlands logo, which turned blue after I clicked on it.

Then I clicked on Vote now (bottom right)

Operation completed in no time!

I would have liked to vote for Hive in the Best Ecosystem category, but it is not among the nominees.

In my opinion, Hive is the perfect platform for blockchain-based games from the user/player side because:

it is very fast
it has zero transaction costs

Unfortunately, Hive is not very attractive to game developers because it does not have level 1 smart contracts, and I hope this shortcoming will be resolved in the future.

My progress in the Modern Format

On Splinterlands, my favorite game formats are the Frontier Format and the Modern Format.

Season 171 is currently underway in the Modern Format and will end in 2 days and 22 hours.

To reach my seasonal game goal, I need to earn another 740 rating points.

It won't be easy to achieve this goal, but I enjoy playing Splinterlands and will have fun even if I don't reach my goal.

To increase the battle strength of my card collection that can be used in the Modern format, I am in the process of purchasing/upgrading cards that I consider useful in battle.

I have four active purchase offers that I monitor every 2-3 days to ensure I always have the best purchase offers on the market.

Today, I noticed that three of my purchase offers had been surpassed, so I updated them to ensure I had the best bids.

In my last gaming session, I started with a rating of 2260 points, 21 energy points, and a Daily Reward already claimed.

My daily goal was to increase my rating and win 10 battles to unlock the other two daily rewards.

I played 16 battles: 10 wins and 6 losses.

It was a very positive gaming session because my win rate was 62.50%, significantly higher than my current seasonal win rate.

Thanks to the 10 battle wins, I earned 39.35 SPS = 2.31 SWAP.HIVE = 440.60 DEC

I have completed the claim for the three daily rewards.

With the Glints I earned today, I purchased 5 Rare Draws, where I found the cards you see in the next image.

I ended my game session with a rating = 2380 (+120 rating points compared to the start of my last game session).

Ci sono varie opzioni per fare il login.
Io ho scelto di accedere con Google ma tu, ovviamente, puoi scegliere l'opzione che preferisci.

Nella schermata successiva ho scritto Splinterlands nel campo di ricerca

Poi ho cliccato sul cerchio bianco a destra della scritta Splinterlands che è diventato azzurro dopo il mio click.

Poi ho cliccato su Vote now (in basso a destra)

Operazione conclusa in pochissimo tempo!

Mi sarebbe piaciuto votare anche per Hive nella categoria Best Ecosystem ma non c'è tra le nomination.

Secondo me Hive è la piattaforma perfetta per i giochi basati su blockchain dal lato utente/giocatore perchè:

è molto veloce
ha costi di transazione = 0

Purtroppo Hive è poco attrattiva per gli sviluppatori di giochi perchè non ha smart contracts di livello 1 e io spero che questa mancanza venga risolta in futuro.

I miei progressi nel Modern Format

Su Splinterlands i miei formati di gioco preferiti sono il Frontier Format e il Modern Format.

Nel Modern Format è in corso la stagione numero 171 che terminerà tra 2 giorni e 22 ore.

All'inizio della stagione il mio obiettivo era raggiungere almeno la lega Diamond III che equivale a raggiungere un punteggio di rating = 2800.

Quando mancano poco meno di tre giorni alla fine della stagione sono nella lega Gold II con un punteggio di rating = 2260 punti.

Per raggiungere il mio obiettivo di gioco stagionale devo guadagnare altri 740 punti di rating.

Non sarà facile raggiungere questo obiettivo ma giocare su Splinterlands mi piace e mi divertirò anche se non riuscirò a raggiungere il mio obiettivo.

Per aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte utilizzabile nel Modern format sono in piena fase di acquisto/upgrade delle carte che considero utili in battaglia.

Ho quattro offerte di acquisto attive che monitoro ogni 2-3 giorni per avere sempre le migliori offerte di acquisto presenti sul mercato.

Oggi ho notato che tre delle mie offerte di acquisto erano state superate e le ho aggiornate in modo da avere le best bids.

Nella mia ultima sessione di gioco sono partito da un punteggio di rating = 2260 punti, 21 punti energia e una Daily Reward già claimata.

Ho giocato 16 battaglie: 10 vinte e 6 perse.

E' stata una sessione di gioco molto positiva perchè il mio win rate è stato del 62.50%, decisamente superiore al mio attuale win rate stagionale.

Even without playing, it’s kinda interesting seeing how deep people go with digital cards and all the strategy around them. Makes regular card games look almost simple compared

Nice progress, and it's great to see you doing so well in Modern. My win rate there seems to be fine because there are some easy wins after the end of a season (we drop leagues). I'll try to vote later during the weekend for Splinterlands.
