I created my account on the WAX blockchain about 9 months ago but have always used the WAX blockchain occasionally and almost exclusively to participate in giveaways and airdrops.
No game developed on WAX had caught my attention until about three weeks ago when I discovered Farming Tales

Farming Tales is an NFT-based game built and developed on the WAX blockchain.
Farming Tales is not a game developed on my beloved Hive but it is still a game that is present on Hive because it created an account (@farmingtales), created a community (https://peakd.com/c/hive-151527/created), chose Hive to publish its Whitepaper and every week @farmingtales organizes a contest to incentivize its players to post game-related content on Hive's blockchain.

In addition, the Farming Tales team, within the game's Discord Server, has created 4 channels dedicated to Hive's blockchain through which it incentivizes its players to sign up on Hive's blockchain and helps them take their first steps with a delegation of HP.

Ten days ago I published a post in which I shared my Farming Tales card-buying strategy, today I want to show how to perform one of the most important operations within the Farming Tales game: - the Build and Harvest operation

Farming Tales is not a free game and in order to start playing and to collect the game rewards you need to make an initial investment that consists in the purchase of one or more playing cards (NFT) and the purchase of a certain amount of CBIT tokens.

More specifically, to begin the agricultural producer adventure you must purchase at least one of the following card combinations:

• Hen + Coop
• Goose + Shelter
• Goat + Stable.
• Cow + Stable
• Sheep + Stable
• Pig + Stable
• Garden
• Lumberjack
• Fishing Pier
• Hive

In the Farming Tales game, animal cards (scheme name: game.animals) need food while Plant cards need water.
Food and water refills have a cost in terms of CBIT tokens (5 CBITs for each refill) and for this reason to make the first harvest you must buy and use a minimum of 5 CBIT tokens.

All Farming Tales cards are NFT and can be purchased:

• inside the Market section of Farming Tales using the SEST tokens (Crafting operation)
• within the Market section of AtomicHub using WAX tokens:

The reward for the harvesting activity is a certain amount of SEST tokens, which varies depending on the cards used.

SEST tokens and CBIT tokens can be bought and sold from the SWAP section or the Market section of the Alcor exchange (https://wax.alcor.exchange/).

In the following image you can see the current values of the CBIT and SEST tokens (January 19, 2022).

When you purchase a Farming Tales card you have digital possession of that card but you do not automatically get in-game rewards as well.
After you have bought one of the combinations of NFT that I have listed above to make "Active" and "productive" your cards you have to go to the game area near the tractor of yellow and red color and you have to position yourself inside the area indicated by the sign "BUILD AND HARVEST" and delimited by the luminous circle white and green (see indications following image)

Once you have positioned yourself inside the luminous circle you have to press the E key on the keyboard.

At this point a screen will open in which you will see a green area bordered by a fence.

If this is your first time in the BUILD AND HARVEST area, this area will be completely empty.

In this area, you can place Buildings and Animals cards that you own.

1. In order to display the Building type cards you have to click on the letter B (arrow number 1 in the following picture)
2. Then you have to click on the image of the card you want to place inside the fence (arrow number 2)
3. Then you have to move the mouse cursor inside the fence and in this way you can choose where to place the 2d image of the card that will remain green until you click again with the mouse.

To place the card you must authorize the transaction by clicking on Approve as indicated by the arrow in the following image.

At this point you have correctly placed your Building card, but you still can't receive the in-game rewards because you have to place and activate the Animals card as well.

The steps are as follows:
1. You must click on the letter A to display the Animals cards in your possession (arrow number 1 in the following image).
2. You must click on the image of the Buildings card you have previously placed (arrow number 2).
3. You must click on the square (slot) indicated by the arrow number 3 in the following image.
4. You must click on the image of the Animals type card that you want to place in the slot you selected in the previous step.

5. Then you have to authorize the transaction request by clicking on Approve.

In the example of this guide I have activated the combination of NFT: Stable (common type) + Black Sheep (rare type).

The Black Sheep has a waiting time for Harvest of 6 hours and 30 minutes.

After 6 hours and 30 minutes I logged back into the BUILD AND HARVEST game area and performed the following steps to Harvest:

1. I clicked on the image of the Stable (arrow number 1 in the following image)
2. clicked on the only slot in the Stable (arrow number 2)
3. I clicked on the Harvest (arrow number 3)
4. I authorized the transaction request on the WAX blockchain.

To remove an Animals type card from a slot you need to click Take out and authorize the transaction on the WAX blockchain.

To Remove a Buildings type card from the fence area you must click Demount and authorize the transaction.

Note: it may happen to receive error messages after authorizing a transaction. In this case just refresh the page and repeat the operation to resolve.

From the operation of Harvest from my Black Sheep I got 28 SEST tokens and I consumed 14 units of food.

No Food = No Harvest

Without Food you can't Harvest an Animals card.
Without Water you cannot perform the Harvest operation from a Plant type card.

To perform Food and Water refills you must have an amount of 5 CBIT tokens for each Food refill and 5 CBIT tokens for each Water refill.

To refill food and water you must head to the game area located near the Silo.

But where and how to buy CBIT tokens, how to refill the Silo with food and how to refill the Water Tower with water will be the topics of my next guide.

Farming Tales non è un gioco gratuito e per iniziare a giocare e per raccogliere le ricompense di gioco è necessario effettuare un investimento iniziale che consiste nell'acquisto di una o più carte di gioco (NFT) e nell'acquisto di un certo quantitativo di token CBIT.

Più precisamente per iniziare l'avventura di produttore agricolo è necessario acquistare almeno una delle seguenti combinazioni di carte:

• Hen + Coop
• Goose + Shelter
• Goat + Stable
• Cow + Stable
• Sheep + Stable
• Pig + Stable
• Garden
• Lumberjack
• Fishing Pier
• Hive

Nel gioco di Farming Tales le carte animali (schema name: game.animals) hanno bisogno di cibo mentre le carte Piante hanno bisogno di acqua.
Le ricariche di acqua e di cibo hanno un costo in termini di token CBIT (5 CBIT per ogni ricarica) e per questo motivo per effettuare il primo raccolto è necessario acquistare e utilizzare un minimo di 5 token CBIT.

Tutte le carte di Farming Tales sono NFT e possono essere acquistate:

• all'interno della sezione Market di Farming Tales utilizzando i token SEST (operazione di Crafting)
• all'interno della sezione Market di AtomicHub utilizzando i token WAX:

La ricompensa per l'attività di raccolta è un certo quantitativo di token SEST, quantitativo che varia in base alle carte utilizzate.

I token SEST e i token CBIT possono essere acquistati e venduti dalla sezione SWAP o dalla sezione Market dell'exchange Alcor (https://wax.alcor.exchange/).

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere i valori attuali dei token CBIT e SEST (19 gennaio 2022).

Quando acquisti una carta di Farming Tales hai il possesso digitale di quella carta ma non ottieni in automatico anche le ricompense di gioco.
Dopo che hai comprato una delle combinazioni di NFT che ho elencato sopra per rendere "Attive" e produttive le tue carte devi dirigerti nell'area di gioco vicino al trattore di colore giallo e rosso e devi posizionarti all'interno dell'area indicata dal cartello "BUILD AND HARVEST" e delimitata dal cerchio luminoso bianco e verde (vedi indicazioni immagine seguente)

Una volta che ti sei posizionato all'interno del cerchio luminoso devi premere il tasto E sulla tastiera.

A questo punto si aprirà una schermata nella quale visualizzerai un'area verde delimitata da un recinto.

Se è la prima volta che accedi all'area BUILD AND HARVEST quest'area sarà completamente vuota.

In quest'area puoi posizionare le carte di tipo Buildings e le carte di tipo Animals che possiedi.

1. Per visualizzare le carte di tipo Building devi cliccare sulla lettera B (freccia numero 1 nell'immagine seguente)
2. Poi devi cliccare sull'immagine della carta che vuoi posizionare all'interno del recinto (freccia numero 2)
3. Poi devi spostare il cursore del mouse all'interno del recinto e in questo modo puoi scegliere dove posizionare l'immagine in 2d della carta che rimarrà di colore verde fin quando non farai di nuovo click con il mouse.

Per posizionare la carta devi autorizzare la transazione cliccando su Approve come indicato dalla freccia nell'immagine seguente.

A questo punto hai posizionato correttamente la tua carta di tipo Building ma ancora non puoi ricevere le ricompense di gioco perchè devi posizionare e attivare anche la carta di tipo Animals.

I passaggi da effettuare sono i seguenti:
1. Devi cliccare sulla lettera A per visualizzare le carte di tipo Animals in tuo possesso (freccia numero 1 nell'immagine seguente)
2. Devi cliccare sull'immagine della carta di tipo Buildings che hai precedentemente posizionato (freccia numero 2)
3. Devi cliccare sul quadratino (slot) indicato dalla freccia numero 3 nell'immagine seguente.
4. Devi cliccare sull'immagine della carta di tipo Animals che vuoi posizionare nello slot che hai selezionato nel passo precedente

5. Dopo devi autorizzare la richiesta di transazione cliccando su Approve.

Nell'esempio di questa guida ho attivato la combinazione di NFT: Stable (tipo comune) + Black Sheep (tipo raro).

La Black Sheep ha un tempo di attesa per effettuare l'Harvest di 6 ore e 30 minuti.

Dopo 6 ore e 30 minuti ho fatto nuovamente l'accesso all'area di gioco BUILD AND HARVEST e ho eseguito i seguenti passaggi per effettuare l'operazione di Harvest:

1. ho cliccato sull'immagine della Stable (freccia numero 1 nell'immagine seguente)
2. ho cliccato sull'unico slot presente nel riquadro della Stable (freccia numero 2)
3. ho cliccato sul Harvest (freccia numero 3)
4. ho autorizzato la richiesta di transazione sulla blockchain di WAX.

Per rimuovere una carta di tipo Animals da uno slot è necessario cliccare su Take out e autorizzare la transazione sulla blockchain WAX.

Per Rimuovere una carta di tipo Buildings dall'area del recinto è necessario cliccare su Demount e autorizzare la transazione.

Nota: può capitare di ricevere messaggi di errore dopo aver autorizzato una transazione. In questo caso è sufficiente aggiornare la pagina e ripetere l'operazione per risolvere.

Dall'operazione di Harvest dalla mia Black Sheep ho ottenuto 28 token SEST e ho consumato 14 unità di cibo.

No Food = No Harvest

Senza Cibo non è possibile effettuare l'operazione di Harvest da una carta di tipo Animals.
Senza Acqua non è possibile effettuare l'operazione di Harvest da una carta di tipo Pianta.

Per effettuare le ricariche di cibo e di acqua è necessario avere un quantitativo di 5 token CBIT per ogni ricarica di cibo e 5 token CBIT per ogni ricarica di acqua.

Per ricaricare il cibo e l'acqua bisogna dirigersi nell'area di gioco posizionata vicino al Silo.

Ma dove e come comprare i token CBIT, come ricaricare di cibo il Silo e come ricaricare di acqua la Water Tower saranno gli argomenti della mia prossima guida.
