My Road to 32.2K Fans: 1.5 Million STARBITS invested and 216 Card Packs opened (ENG/ITA)

Starting June 27, 2022, there will be an important change to the requirements of the STARBITS Millionaire Mission because a minimum number of Fans will be added as a requisite, which will not be the same for all players but will depend on the number of Starbits Millionaire missions each player has completed and will be determined by the following formula:

1000 Fans + (100 Fans x number of Starbits Millionaire missions completed)

If this is the first time you are hearing about this change you can read the following two posts in which, through tables and calculations, I tried to explain in the simplest way possible the effects of this upcoming change and in which I analyzed 4 cases of 4 hypothetical players with different numbers of starting Fans.

To date, I have completed 310 Millionaire Missions and on June 27, 2022, I will reach a total of 312 completed millionaire missions.

This means that as of June 27 if I want to carry out my millionaire mission number 313 I will have to have a minimum number of Fans of 32200.

Three days ago I had 8599 Fans and was in the situation of having to increase my number of Fans by 23601 units.

Based on information from the useful website https://rsgfam.com/shop/fans I had calculated that to increase the number of Fans by 23601 units I would have to spend 1416060 STARBITS = 340 HIVE = $128 (considering an average cost per single Fan of 60 STARBITS)

Today the cost per Fan indicated by https://rsgfam.com/shop/fans is slightly lower but 60 STARBITS per Fan is an average cost that I think is quite reliable because I have found it often in the past as well.

The strategy I chose to follow

To increase my number of Fans I had two options to choose from:

• buy cards from the market according to the directions at https://rsgfam.com/shop/fans
• buy packs of cards and trust to luck.

Buying cards from the market has one major advantage: a certain cost to Fans.
Buying packs of cards, on the other hand, requires prior evaluation because there is no certain value but an expected value and luck especially in opening a few packs of cards plays a determining role.

Before choosing how to proceed, I looked at all the cards found in the card packs, considered card statistics, and counted cards that had a Fans attribute > 0.

I asked on Rising Star's Discord server what are the odds of finding a card of a certain type in each card pack.

The odds of finding a card of a given type for each individual card in a pack (not per pack) are as follows:

• legendary card: 0.05%
• epic card: 1%
• rare card: 10%
• common card: 88.95%

Each card pack of Rising Star contains 3 cards and each card pack contains at least one card of type Rare or higher.
Each uncovered card has a probability of being of a certain rarity type based on the percentages I listed above.

In my evaluation I did not consider at all the chance of finding a legendary card because a probability of 0.05% corresponds to a probability of finding 1 legendary card for every 2000 cards discovered.

In order to discover 2000 cards, it is necessary to buy 666.66 packs of cards and there is no guarantee that you will find a legendary card.

When deciding to buy a card pack, it is important to choose the most convenient payment method because there are several tokens that can be used for purchase and the cost difference between one purchase method and another can be very large.

Cost of 1 pack of cards using STARBITS tokens as a payment method: 10000 STARBITS = $0.87
Cost of 1 pack of cards using HIVE tokens as a payment method: 5 HIVES = $2.045

Those who buy a pack of cards using HIVE tokens spend more than twice as much as those who buy a pack of cards using STARBITS tokens.

Those who buy 12 packs of cards in bulk receive a discount and spend only 100000 STARBITS instead of 120000 STARBITS and the cost per pack drops to $0.7279 instead of $0.8735.

The strategy I decided to follow is as follows:

• buy 12 packs at a time using STARBITS tokens.
• sell the cards that do not have a FANS attribute > 0
• repeat the purchase of 12 packs of cards each time the proceeds from the sale of the cards reach a value of 100000 STARBITS.

I chose this strategy because it has a calculated risk:

• in the worst case scenario I can find myself with a number of FANS not much less than my goal
• at best I can find myself with a number of FANS greater than the number obtainable from buying the cards from the market.

Now we move from theory to practice.

I purchased 1500000 STARBITS and spent 322 SWAP.HIVE.
I invested 1500000 STARBITS to buy a total of 180 card packs.
In the card packs I found a total of 540 cards.
Of the 540 cards I found inside the packs, I sold all the cards that had a FANS = 0 attribute, and I chose not to sell the microphone-type instrument cards because they allow me to increase the reward in SKILL points of my favorite music lesson.

From the sale of the non-useful cards I accumulated a total of 320000 STARBITS which I used to buy 36 more packs of cards which I opened and again put the cards I did not need for sale to increase my Fans number.

I still have 113 NFTs for sale and I have 30000 STARBITS tokens in my wallet on Hive Engine.

So far I have accumulated a total of 29070 FANS.

To reach my goal, I have 3130 FANS left to go.

The result of my strategy is still partial because I still have cards to sell and more packs to buy with the proceeds I will get from the sale.

I have not been very lucky so far with the contents of the packs of cards I have opened and I will most likely spend more than buying directly from the market but it is also true that if I had also sold the microphone type cards I found in the packs now maybe I would have reached my goal.

The microphone cards that I found in the packs allowed me to increase the Basic Singing Lesson music reward by +26 SKILL points and this is still an advantage and will be even more so from June 27 onwards.

In fact, from June 27 onwards, the purchase of +100 Fans per day needed to do the millionaire mission will produce an increase in Ego (a negative element in the game) which, however, I will be able to keep quietly at bay since a single Basic Singing Lesson allows me to receive a minimum reward of 129 SKILL points and a maximum reward of 259 SKILL points.

Final Considerations

In today's post I wanted to share the strategy I chose to follow to increase the number of FANS.
I will most likely spend more than buying directly from the market, but I will also have enhanced my ability to get more SKILL points from the music class I routinely take.

In my future posts on Rising Star I will track the gains from the new millionaire mission and keep track of the time required to reach the break-even point which will be influenced by the future value of STARBITS tokens.

Will my choice to invest to meet the new millionaire mission requirement turn out to be a right or wrong choice?

Only time will tell but Rising Star is my second blockchain-based game I have played and so far it has given me so much value with all the STARBITS I have earned from completing missions.
It feels right to reinvest some of what I've received so far from Rising Star and most of all I want to continue to believe in the Rising Star project and become even if only virtually a music star! ;)

Rising Star is a free-to-play game because it requires no initial investment and the development team is very active on traditional social platforms to try to promote the game and to try to introduce new users on the Hive blockchain.

Dal 27 giugno 2022 ci sarà una importante modifica ai requisiti della Missione STARBITS Millionaire perchè sarà aggiunto come requisito un minimo numero di Fans che non sarà lo stesso per tutti i giocatori ma dipenderà dal numero di missioni Starbits Millionaire che ogni giocatore avrà completato e sarà determinato dalla seguente formula:

Se è la prima volta che senti parlare di questa modifica puoi leggere i seguenti due post in cui, tramite tabelle e calcoli, ho cercato di spiegare nel modo più semplice possibile gli effetti di questa imminente modifica e in cui ho analizzato 4 casi di 4 ipotetici giocatori con un numero di Fans di partenza diverso.

Fino ad oggi ho completato 310 Missioni Milionarie e il 27 giugno 2022 arriverò ad un totale di 312 missioni milionarie completate.

Questo vuol dire che a partire dal 27 giungo se vorrò svolgere la mia missione milionaria numero 313 dovrò avere un numero minimo di Fans di 32200 unità.

Tre giorni fa avevo 8599 Fans fissi e mi trovavo nella situazione di dover aumentare il mio numero di Fans di 23601 unità.

In base alle informazioni dell'utile sito https://rsgfam.com/shop/fans avevo calcolato che per aumentare il numero di Fans di 23601 unità avrei dovuto spendere 1416060 STARBITS = 340 HIVE = 128$ (considerando un costo medio per singolo Fan di 60 STARBITS)

Oggi il costo per Fan indicato da https://rsgfam.com/shop/fans è leggermente più basso ma 60 STARBITS per Fan è un costo medio che ritengo abbastanza attendibile perchè l'ho trovato spesso anche in passato.

La strategia che ho scelto di seguire

Per aumentare il mio numero di Fans avevo due opzioni tra cui scegliere:

• comprare le carte dal mercato in base alle indicazioni del sito https://rsgfam.com/shop/fans
• acquistare pacchi di carte e affidarmi alla fortuna

Comprare le carte dal mercato ha un grande vantaggio: un costo per Fans certo.
Comprare i pacchi di carte richiede invece una valutazione preventiva perchè non c'è un valore certo ma un valore atteso e la fortuna soprattutto nell'apertura di pochi pacchi di carte gioca un ruolo determinante.

Prima di scegliere come procedere ho guardato tutte le carte trovabili nei pacchi di carte, ho considerato le statistiche delle carte e ho contato le carte che avevano un attributo Fans > 0.

Ho chiesto sul server Discord di Rising Star quali sono le probabilità di trovare una carta di una determinata tipologia in ogni pacco di carte.

Le probabilità di trovare una carta di un determinato tipo per ogni singola carta contenuta in un pacco (e non per pacco) sono le seguenti:

• carta leggendaria: 0.05%
• carta epica: 1%
• carta rara: 10%
• carta comune: 88.95%

Ogni pacco di carte di Rising Star contiene 3 carte e ogni pacco di carte contiene almeno una carta di tipo Rara o superiore.
Ogni carta scoperta ha una probabilità di essere di una determinata tipologia di rarità in base alle percentuali che ho elencato sopra.

Nella mia valutazione non ho considerato minimamente la possibilità di trovare una carta leggendaria perchè una probabilità dello 0.05% corrisponde ad una probabilità di trovare 1 carta leggendaria ogni 2000 carte scoperte.
Per scoprire 2000 carte è necessario acquistare 666.66 pacchi di carte e non è assicurato che si trovi una carta leggendaria.

Quando si decide di comprare un pacco di carte è importante scegliere il metodo di pagamento più conveniente perchè ci sono diversi token utilizzabili per l'acquisto e la differenza di costo tra un metodo di acquisto e un'altro può essere molto ampia.

Costo di 1 pacco di carte utilizzando i token STARBITS come metodo di pagamento: 10000 STARBITS = 0.87$
Costo di 1 pacco di carte utilizzando i token HIVE come metodo di pagamento: 5 HIVE = 2.045$

Chi compra un pacco di carte utilizzando i token HIVE spende più del doppio rispetto a chi compra un pacco di carte utilizzando i token STARBITS.

Chi compra 12 pacchi di carte in blocco riceve uno sconto e spende solo 100000 STARBITS invece che 120000 STARBITS e il costo per pacco scende a 0.7279$ invece che 0.8735$.

La strategia che ho deciso di seguire è la seguente:

• acquistare 12 pacchi alla volta utilizzando i token STARBITS
• vendere le carte che non hanno un attributo FANS > 0
• ripetere l'acquisto di 12 pacchi di carte ogni volta che il ricavo della vendita delle carte raggiunge un valore di 100000 STARBITS.

Ho scelto questa strategia perchè ha un rischio calcolato:

• nella peggiore delle ipotesi posso trovarmi con un numero di FANS non di molto inferiore al mio obiettivo
• nella migliore delle ipotesi posso trovarmi con un numero di FANS superiore al numero ottenibile dall'acquisto delle carte dal mercato.

Adesso passiamo dalla teoria alla pratica.

Ho acquistato 1500000 STARBITS e ho speso 322 SWAP.HIVE
Ho investito 1500000 STARBITS per comprare un totale di 180 pacchi di carte.
Nei pacchi di carte ho trovato un totale di 540 carte.
Delle 540 carte che ho trovato all'interno dei pacchi ho venduto tutte quelle che avevano un attributo FANS = 0 e ho scelto di non vendere le carte strumento di tipo microfono perchè mi permettono di aumentare il premio in SKILL points della mia lezione di musica preferita.

Dalla vendita delle carte non utili ho accumulato un totale di 320000 STARBITS che ho utilizzato per comprare altri 36 pacchi di carte che ho aperto ed ho nuovamente messo in vendita le carte che non mi servivano per aumentare il numero dei miei Fans.

Ho ancora 113 NFT in vendita e ho 30000 token STARBITS nel mio wallet su Hive Engine.

Fino ad ora ho accumulato un totale di 29070 FANS

Per raggiungere il mio obiettivo mi mancano 3130 FANS.

Il risultato della mia strategia è ancora parziale perchè ho ancora carte da vendere e altri pacchi da comprare con il ricavato che otterrò dalla vendita.

Non sono stato molto fortunato fino ad ora con il contenuto dei pacchi di carte che ho aperto e con molta probabilità spenderò di più rispetto all'acquisto diretto dal mercato ma è anche vero che se avessi venduto anche le carte di tipo microfono che ho trovato nei pacchi adesso forse avrei raggiunto il mio obiettivo.

Le carte microfono che ho trovato nei pacchi mi hanno permesso di aumentare il premio della lezione di musica Basic Singing Lesson di +26 SKILL points e questo è comunque un vantaggio e lo sarà ancora di più a partire dal 27 giungo in poi.

Infatti a partire dal 27 giugno l'acquisto di +100 Fans al giorno necessari per fare la missione milionaria produrrà un incremento dell'Ego (elemento negativo nel gioco) che però potrò tenere tranquillamente a bada dato che una singola lezione Basic Singing Lesson mi permette di ricevere un premio minimo di 129 SKILL points e un premio massimo di 259 SKILL.

Considerazioni Finali

Nel post di oggi ho voluto condividere la strategia che ho scelto di seguire per aumentare il numero di FANS.
Con molta probabilità spenderò di più rispetto all'acquisto diretto dal mercato ma avrò anche potenziato la mia capacità di ottenere un maggior numero di punti SKILL dalla lezione di musica che svolgo abitualmente.

Nei miei futuri post su Rising Star terrò traccia dei guadagni della nuova missione milionaria e terrò traccia del tempo necessario al raggiungimento del punto di pareggio che sarà influenzato dal valore futuro dei token STARBITS.

La mia scelta di investire per soddisfare il nuovo requisito della missione milionaria si rivelerà una scelta giusta o sbagliata?

Solo il tempo potrà dirlo ma Rising Star è il mio secondo gioco basato su blockchain a cui ho giocato e fino ad ora mi ha dato tanto valore con tutti i STARBITS che ho guadagnato dal completamento delle missioni.
Mi sembra giusto reinvestire una parte di quello che ho ricevuto fino ad ora da Rising Star e soprattutto voglio continuare a credere nel progetto di Rising Star e diventare anche se solo virtualmente una star della musica! ;)

In conclusione voglio informare i miei lettori sulla proposta DHF fatta da Rising Star.

Rising Star è un gioco free-to play perchè non richiede investimeni iniziali e il team di sviluppo è molto attivo sulle piattaforme social tradizionali per cercare di promuovere il gioco e per cercare di introdurre nuovi utenti sulla blockchain di Hive.
