On June 29, 2023 Splinterlands will celebrate its 5th birthday and for this milestone anniversary has organized an event that will have a prize pool of approximately $150K.

Splinterlands will distribute prizes to event participants through two reward mechanisms:

• a Leaderboard
• a Raffle

The DEC token and its soulbound version, the DEC-B, will play a main role in this event because to enter the leaderboard and to obtain a valid Raffle ticket it will be necessary to burn a certain amount of DEC or DEC-B tokens.

Important note: only DECs and DEC-Bs burned in the time interval May 30, 2023 - June 29, 2023 via the appropriate event page will be counted .

In the image below you can see event leaderboard prizes that will reward players based on the total amount of DEC (or DEC-B) tokens burned in the time interval May 30, 2023 - June 29, 2023.

Considering that today, May 26, 2023 1 PLOT (unsurveyed) has a market value of 104 USD the first prize (1 TRACT = 100 PLOT) has a minimum estimated value of 10400 USD to which must be added the value of the Title which will be a transferable and saleable asset.

The second reward mechanism of the event is a Raffle whose prize pool consists of:

• 200 Land Plot
• 100 Alpha Pack
• 250 Beta Pack
• 500 Untamed Pack
• 1000 Nightmare Pack
• 1000 Riftwatchers Pack
• 25 Runes

For every 10K points accumulated during the event you will receive 1 ticket/one chance to win one of the prizes I listed above.

An important detail that applies to both the leaderboard and the raffle is that burning earlier will pay off more than burning later.

In fact burning DEC tokens on the first day of the event will allow you to receive more points for the leaderboard and Raffle because:

• 1 DEC token burned on the first day of the event = 3 points
• 1 DEC token burned mid-event = 1.5 points
• 1 DEC token burned on the last day of the event = 1 point.

All DEC tokens burned during the event will be converted to Guild Power (GP) and distributed later to those who burned them based on a 1:1 conversion ratio.

Guild Power can be used to make upgrades to Guilds' buildings.
New upgrade options for guilds will be added in the future so that those who already have a top-level guild can use the Guild Power accumulated during the event.

Calculations, Hypothesis and Considerations

Those who read my posts know that I like to do calculations and evaluations and I like to share them on my Hive blog.

In the table below you can see the value of each Raffle prize of the event and the total value of the prizes raffled off based on current market values.

Note: I took into consideration the market values provided by https://www.splintercards.com/index.html except for Runi whose lowest market value I took from https://opensea.io/

How much will a chance cost for the event raffle?

The event's point distribution mechanism incentivizes participation during the first day of the event and in my opinion (this is not financial advice but my personal prediction which may be wrong) who wants to participate in the event but does not have DEC tokens in his Wallet maybe should buy them already today because their value may increase as the event's start approaches.

Those who burn DEC tokens during the first day of the event will get 3 points for each DEC token burned.

To get 10K points to have 1 Raffle Chance will have to burn a value of $2.6033
Obviously the result of the cost calculation today is an estimated result because it is calculated based on the current value of DEC tokens: 1000 DEC = $0.7810.

Those who burn DEC tokens during the last day of the event will get 1 point for each DEC token burned.

To get 10K points to have 1 Raffle Chance will have to burn three times as many DEC tokens as required on the first day of the event for a value of $7.81 based on the current value of DEC tokens.

I have considered 5 possible cases of burning of DEC tokens.
Based on the case that according to your personal prediction might come true you can make your personal evaluations.

In all cases I considered the total token burn during the first day of the event and therefore the probabilities I calculated could probably be better.

The supply of DEC tokens in circulation today is 5 billion 133 million (source: https://www.splintercards.com/index.html)

In the first case I considered the hypothesis in which only 1% of the supply of DEC tokens will be burned.

If 1% of the circulating DEC tokens will be burned during the event, 1 Chance in the Raffle will have a 19.96% chance of winning a prize.

In the second case I considered the hypothesis in which 5% of the supply of DEC tokens will be burned.

If 5% of the outstanding DEC tokens will be burned during the event, 1 Chance in the Raffle will have a 3.99% chance of winning a prize.

In the third case I considered the hypothesis in which 10% of the supply of DEC tokens will be burned.

If 10% of the outstanding DEC tokens are burned during the event, 1 Chance in the Raffle will have a 1,999% chance of winning a prize.

In the fourth case I considered the hypothesis in which 20% of the supply of DEC tokens will be burned.

If 20% of the circulating DEC token supply is burned during the event, 1 Chance in the Raffle will have a 0.99% chance of winning a prize.

In the fifth case I considered the hypothesis in which 50% of the supply of DEC tokens will be burned.

If 50% of the circulating DEC tokens will be burned during the event, 1 Chance in the Raffle will have a 0.39% chance of winning a prize.

I will stop here otherwise I would have to write a kilometer-long post but starting from the probabilities I have calculated it is easy to derive all the other probabilities in the other cases ;)

As a last piece of valuation that might be useful to you I share the calculation of the probability of each winning ticket to receive a certain prize.

If you attend the event and if your ticket is a winner you will have the following probabilities:

• 32% of receiving the lowest value prize (1 Nightmare Pack).
• 0.81% of receiving the highest value prize (1 Runes)

Final Considerations

I hope with this post I have given you useful elements to make your personal evaluations in deciding whether to participate in the 5-year Splinterlands event.

What will I do?

Splinterlands on June 29 turns 5 years old while I have been a Splinterlands player for more than 3 1/2 years because I started playing in mid-October 2019.
More than 3 1/2 years after my first battle Splinterlands is still my favorite blockchain game and I still enjoy playing the game, optimizing my card collection and posting content about Splinterlands in my Hive blog.

I don't have many DECs in my wallet but I have decided to participate in the event with at least 50K DECs that I will burn on the first day of the event to have 150K event points and 15 chances to win a prize in the final Raffle.

I will participate in the event without making any special calculations of estimated Profit and estimated ROI because even if with 50k DEC I don't win a prize I will receive 50k Guild Power that I can spend to strengthen my guild and playing in the Brawls is even more fun for me than playing in the Ranked Battles because in the guild the game is team-based and playing as a team is always more fun than playing for yourself!

Splinterlands 5 Year Anniversary Event - 150K$ in Prizes - Calcoli e Considerazioni

Il 29 giugno 2023 Splinterlands compirà 5 anni e per questa importante occasione ha organizzato un evento che avrà un montepremi di circa 150K$.

Splinterlands distribuirà i premi ai partecipanti all'evento tramite due meccanismi di ricompensa:

• una Leaderboard
• un Raffle

Il token DEC e al sua versione Soulbound, il DEC-B, avranno un ruolo principale in questo evento perchè per entrare nella classifica e per ottenere un ticket valido per il Raffle sarà necessario bruciare un certo quantitativo di token DEC o DEC-B.

Nota importante: saranno conteggiati solo i DEC e i DEC-B bruciati nell'intervallo di tempo 30 maggio 2023 - 29 giugno 2023 tramite l'apposita pagina dell'evento che sarà disponibile prossimamente.

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere i premi della classifica dell'evento che premierà i giocatori in base al quantitativo totale di token DEC (o DEC-B) bruciati nell'intervallo di tempo 30 maggio 2023 - 29 giugno 2023.

Considerando che oggi 26 maggio 2023 1 PLOT (unsurveyed) ha un valore di mercato di 104 USD il primo premio (1 TRACT = 100 PLOT) ha un valore stimato minimo di 10400 USD a cui è da aggiungere il valore del Title che sarà un asset trasferibile e vendibile.

Il secondo meccanismo di ricompensa dell'evento è una Raffle il cui montepremi è costituito da:

• 200 Land Plot
• 100 Alpha Pack
• 250 Beta Pack
• 500 Untamed Pack
• 1000 Nightmare Pack
• 1000 Riftwatchers Pack
• 25 Runi

Ogni 10K punti accumulati durante l'evento si riceverà 1 ticket/una possibilità di aggiudicarsi uno dei premi che ho elencato sopra.

Un dettaglio importante che riguarda sia la classifica che la raffle è che bruciare prima converrà di più che bruciare dopo.

Infatti bruciare i token DEC il primo giorno dell'evento permetterà di ricevere un numero maggiore di punti per la classifica e per la Raffle perchè:

• 1 token DEC bruciato il primo giorno dell'evento = 3 punti
• 1 token DEC bruciato a metà evento = 1.5 punti
• 1 token DEC bruciato l'ultimo giorno dell' evento = 1 punto.

Tutti i token DEC bruciati durante l'evento saranno convertiti in Guild Power (GP) e distribuiti successivamente a chi li ha bruciati in base ad un rapporto di conversione 1:1.

I Guild Power potranno essere utilizzati per fare gli upgrades degli edifici delle Guilds.
In futuro saranno aggiunte nuove opzioni di upgrade per le guilds in modo da permettere a chi ha già una guild di massimo livello di utilizzare il Guild Power accumulato durante l'evento.

Calcoli, Ipotesi e Considerazioni

Chi legge i miei post sa bene che mi piace fare calcoli e valutazioni e mi piace condividerli sul mio Hive blog.

Nella tabella seguente puoi vedere il valore di ogni singolo premio della Raffle dell'evento e il valore totale dei premi messi in palio in base ai valori di mercato attuali.

Nota: Ho preso in considerazione i valori di mercato forniti dal sito https://www.splintercards.com/index.html tranne per Runi di cui ho preso il valore di mercato più basso su https://opensea.io/

Quanto costerà una chance per la raffle dell'evento?

Il meccanismo di distribuzione dei punti dell'evento incentiva la partecipazione durante il primo giorno dell'evento e secondo me (non è un consiglio finanziario ma la mia personale previsione che può essere sbagliata) chi vuole partecipare all'evento ma non ha token DEC nel suo Wallet forse dovrebbe acquistarli già oggi perchè il loro valore potrebbe aumentare con l'avvicinarsi dell'inizio dell'evento.

Chi brucerà i token DEC durante il primo giorno dell'evento otterrà 3 punti per ogni token DEC bruciato.

Per ottenere 10K points per avere 1 Raffle Chance dovrà bruciare un valore di 2.6033$
Ovviamente il risultato del calcolo del costo è oggi un risultato stimato perchè calcolato in base al valore attuale dei token DEC: 1000 DEC = 0.7810$.

Chi brucerà i token DEC durante l'ultimo giorno dell'evento otterrà 1 punto per ogni token DEC bruciato.

Per ottenere 10K points per avere 1 Raffle Chance dovrà bruciare il triplo dei token DEC richiesti il primo giorno dell'evento per un valore di 7.81$ in base al valore attuale dei token DEC.

Quale sarà la probabilità di vincere un premio con una singola chance nella Raffle?

A questa domanda non è possibile rispondere perchè non è possibile conoscere a priori un dato fondamentale: il quantitativo totale di token DEC che sarà bruciato durante l'evento.

Però è possibile fare delle ipotesi sul totale dei token DEC bruciati e fare i calcoli su queste ipotesi.

Ho considerato 5 possibili casi di bruciatura dei token DEC, in base al caso che secondo la tua personale previsione potrebbe realizzarsi potrai fare le tue personali valutazioni.

In tutti i casi ho considerato la bruciatura totale dei token durante il primo giorno dell'evento e quindi le probabilità che ho calcolato potrebbero essere probabilmente migliori.

La supply dei token DEC in circolazione è oggi di 5 miliardi e 133 milioni (fonte: https://www.splintercards.com/index.html)

Nel primo caso ho considerato l'ipotesi in cui solo 1% della supply dei token DEC sia bruciata.

Se l'1% dei token DEC in circolazione sarà bruciato durante l'evento, 1 Chance nel Raffle avrà il 19.96% di probabilità di aggiudicarsi un premio.

Nel secondo caso ho considerato l'ipotesi in cui il 5% della supply dei token DEC sia bruciata.

Se il 5% dei token DEC in circolazione sarà bruciato durante l'evento, 1 Chance nel Raffle avrà il 3.99% di probabilità di aggiudicarsi un premio.

Nel terzo caso ho considerato l'ipotesi in cui il 10% della supply dei token DEC sia bruciata.

Se il 10% dei token DEC in circolazione sarà bruciato durante l'evento, 1 Chance nel Raffle avrà il 1.999% di probabilità di aggiudicarsi un premio.

Nel quarto caso ho considerato l'ipotesi in cui il 20% della supply dei token DEC sia bruciata.

Se il 20% dei token DEC in circolazione sarà bruciato durante l'evento, 1 Chance nel Raffle avrà il 0.99% di probabilità di aggiudicarsi un premio.

Nel quinto caso ho considerato l'ipotesi in cui il 50% della supply dei token DEC sia bruciata.

Se il 50% dei token DEC in circolazione sarà bruciato durante l'evento, 1 Chance nel Raffle avrà il 0.39% di probabilità di aggiudicarsi un premio.

Mi fermo qui altrimenti dovrei scrivere un post kilometrico ma partendo dalle probabilità che ho calcolato è facile ricavarsi tutte le altre probabilità ;)

Come ultimo elemento di valuzione che potrebbe esserti utile condivido il calcolo delle probabilità di ogni ticket vincente di ricevere un determinato premio.

Se parteciperai all'evento e se il tuo ticket sarà vincente avrai le seguenti probabilità:

• 32% di ricevere il premio di valore minore (1 Nightmare Pack)
• 0.81% di ricevere il premio di valore maggiore (1 Runi)

Considerazioni Finali

Spero con questo post di averti dato elementi utili per fare le tue personali valuzioni per decidere se partecipare all'evento dei 5 anni di Splinterlands.

Cosa faro io?

Splinterlands il 29 giugno compie 5 anni mentre io sono un giocatore di Splinterlands da più di 3 anni e mezzo perchè ho iniziato a giocare a metà ottobre 2019.
Dopo più di 3 anni e mezzo dalla mia prima battaglia Splinterlands è ancore il mio gioco blockchain preferito e ancora mi diverto a giocare, a ottimizzare la mia collezione di carte e a pubblicare contenuti su Splinterlands nel mio Hive blog.

Non ho molti DEC nel mio wallet ma ho deciso di partecipare all'evento con almeno 50K DEC che brucerò il primo giorno dell'evento per avere 150K event points e 15 chances di vincere un premio nella Raffle finale.

Parteciperò all'evento senza fare particolari calcoli di profitto stimato e ROI stimato perchè anche se con 50k non dovessi vincere un premio riceverò 50k Guild Power che potrò spendere per rafforzare la mia gilda e giocare nelle Brawls è per me ancora più divertente che giocare nelle Ranked Battles perchè nella gilda il gioco è di squadra e giocare in squadra è sempre più divertente che giocare per se stessi!
