My Road To Diamond I of Mondern Format + My Card Collection Optimization: Focus on Water Monsters
This morning I returned from a beautiful but very short vacation.
It was a nice vacation because I went to the beach with my daughter and my wife, and spending time with my family without thinking about work commitments is equivalent to regenerating and recharging positive energy.
It was a short vacation because I left Saturday afternoon and returned this morning.
This morning during my free time I resumed my gaming activity on the Hive games which are one of my passions and among the Hive games Splinterlands occupies an important place for me because:
- after almost 4 years since my first battle it is still my favorite blockchain-based game
- I enjoy playing the game
- I enjoy posting Splinterlands-related content on my Hive blog
- I enjoy selling and buying cards to increase the battle strength of my card collection
- I like to read content posted on Hive by other authors/players
Coming back from my short vacation I had a pleasant surprise because in the last Brawl I played I got 6 wins out of 6 battles and that is an achievement I haven't had in a long time.
As for the game results in the Ranked Battles of the Modern Format on the other hand, the results were not good as you can see from the following screenshot.
The current season is my second season playing exclusively in the Modern Format.
I have completely abandoned the ranked battles of the Wild Format because the anti-bots measures will soon be introduced in the Modern Format, and I prefer to play against real players like me who enjoy playing Splinterlands and don't enjoy playing against bots!
When there are 6 days and 5 hours left until the end of the season I am in the Diamond III league of Monder Format and I have a rating score of 2897 points.
My current game goal is to be able to play steadily and in every season in the Diamond leagues of the Monder Format and this goal is equivalent to finishing the Splinterlands seasons at least in the Diamond I league, a season's achievement that would allow me to start again in the following season in the Diamond III league.
If I want to achieve my game goal I must continue to increase the battle strength of my card collection through a optimization activity that consists of:
- selling cards that I consider to be of little use in battle and that I hardly ever or never use in battle
- selling cards that I consider useful in battle but only from a certain level to which I cannot elevate them because they cost a lot of money
- buy only the cards that I consider very useful in battle of the Modern Format's Gold+ leagues.
- sell the BETA cards that:
- are not in high demand on the rental market and have a low rental price
- have low Production Points attribute and will not be advantageous for me to use them as worker cards in my land plots when Lands phase 1.5 starts.
My current buying power is 213708.44 DEC.
In today's post I share my choices of purchasing/upgrading Water element cards that will be particularly useful in Diamond+ league battles where Water element is the only usable element.
The summoner I use in battles that have the Water element as a required choice is Kelya Frendul because it is the only top-level Water element summoner I have in my collection that I can use in the Modern Format.
Legendary monsters of the Water element
In the following image you can see the water element legendary monster cards that can be used in Modern Format ranked battles that I have in my collection.
The cards I use the most is River Hellondale of level 4 which is in my opinion a Must Buy for those playing in Gold+ and Diamond+ leagues because it is a very versatile card and has a relatively low cost considering its usefulness in battle.
I use a lot though less frequently:
- Phantom of the Abyss - level 1
- Djiin Oshannus - level 4
- Baakjira - level 3
Today I decided to add Torrent Fiend of maximum level = 11 BCX to my collection.
At level 4 Torrent Fiend acquires the Headwinds ability (Reduces the ranged attack of all enemy monsters) which is especially useful when the opponent uses cards with ranged attack.
I have 5 BCX of Torrent Fiend in my collection and to upgrade to the maximum level I have to buy 6 BCX.
When I played in the Wild Format I could use Furious Chicken as a card with mana cost = 0.
Cards that cost 0 mana are often very useful in battle and in Modern Format there are only 5 cards that cost 0 mana and they are all legendary cards.
For Torrent Fiend, the difference between High Bid and BCX Price is relatively small, which is why I decided to buy 6 BCX right away.

I spent 17469.62 DEC and received a cashback of 419.27 DEC.
Upgrade goal completed!
Epic monsters of the water element
In the following image you can see the epic monster cards of the water element that can be used in the Modern Format that I have in my collection.
The water element epic cards I use the most is Tide Biter and I use it mostly in the second position when the battle rule is Explosive Weaponery.
The upgrade target I chose today is Wave Brood: level 3 -> level 4.
In my collection I have 1 Wave Brood level 3 (10 BCX) + 4 BCX = 14 BCX.
To reach my upgrade goal I need to purchase 6 BCX for a total cost of $7.29.
I like to use Wave Brood when I want to direct opponent attacks to a position other than the first and generally I place Wave Brood in the last position and in combination with a card with the Triage ability.
Wave Brood at level 4 becomes stronger in battle than at level 3 because it acquires the Void ability that reduces the damage taken by magical attacks and thus increases its potential resistance.
Again, I chose to purchase 6 BCX immediately in order to achieve my upgrade ob iective right away.
For the purchase I used Monstermarket, spent 9528.26 DEC and received a cashback of 228.67 DEC.
Today I also purchased 3 BCX of Igor Darkspear to do the following upgrade: level 1 -> level 3
Igor Darkspear at level 3 is an itermediate upgrade target because in the future I would like to take him to level 4 (he acquires the Stun skill) but even at level 3 he can be useful to me in battles with little mana available and especially in battles that have the Going to distance battle rule.
To purchase 3 BCXs I spent 3460.17 DEC and received a cashback of 83.04 DEC.
Rare Monsters of the Water Element
In the following image you can see rare monsters of the water element that can be used in the Modern Format that I have in my card collection.
One of the rare cards of the water element that I use a lot is Merdaali Guardian level 6 (=60 BCX) and because of that I decided to upgrade to the maximum level: level 6 -> level 8
I spent 15205.28 DEC and received a cashback of 364.92 DEC.
Common monsters of the Water element
In the following image you can see the common monsters of the water element that can be used in the Modern Format that I have in my card collection.
As the first upgrade goal among the common cards of the water element, I chose Deeplurker.
In my collection I have Deeplurker level 8 + 14 BCX for a total of 234 BCX.
Today I upgraded Deeplurker to maximum level and spent 22821.65 DEC = $17.45.
With the addition of the Demoralize ability, Deeplurker becomes an even more useful card in battle and especially in battles where only melee attack cards can be used such as in battles with the Melee Mayem ruleset.
The latest upgrade I made today is related to the card Merdhampir: level 6 -> level 10
I spent only $2.39 to add to my card collection a card very useful in battles with little mana available and with precise battle rules such as the Going to distance ruleset.
My sales goals
After the purchases/upgrades I made today, I decreased the amount of DEC tokens available to me (213708 -> 139926) but increased the battle strength of my card collection.
If I want to continue to make purchases/upgrades to increase the battle strength of my card collection I also have to make sacrifices and today I put up for sale some cards that I never use in battle that have good market value:
- 2X Djinn Oshannus Gold Foil
- 1X Ifrit Rising Gold Foil
- 1X Axemaster Gold Foil
If I successfully sell the cards I listed I will obtain $160 that I can reinvest in buying/upgrading the cards I use or would use in battle.
I continue to set growth goals on Splinterlands, continue to increase the battle strength of my card collection, and look forward with great excitement to the introduction of anti-bots measures in the Modern Format, which I think will be a big and important step forward for the entire Splinterlands ecosystem...

Questa mattina sono rientrato da una vacanza bella ma molto breve.
E' stata una bella vacanza perchè sono stato al mare con mia figlia e mia moglie e passare del tempo con la mia famiglia senza pensare agli impegni di lavoro equivale a rigenerarsi e a ricaricarsi di energie positive.
E' stata una vacanza breve perchè sono partito sabato pomeriggio e sono tornato questa mattina.
Questa mattina durante il mio tempo libero ho ripreso la mia attività di gioco sugli Hive games che sono una delle mie passioni e tra gli Hive games Splinterlands occupa un posto importante per me perchè:
- dopo quasi 4 anni dalla mia prima battaglia è ancora il mio gioco basato su blockchain preferito
- mi diverto a giocare
- mi diverto a pubblicare contenuti inerenti a Splinterlands sul mio Hive blog
- mi diverto a vendere e acquistare carte per aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte
- mi piace leggere i contenuti pubblicati su Hive dagli altri autori/giocatori
Di ritorno dalla mia breve vacanza ho avuto una piacevole sorpresa perchè nell'ultima Brawl che ho giocato ho ottenuto 6 vittorie su 6 battaglie ed è un risultato che non ottenevo da tempo.
Per quanto riguarda i risultati di gioco nelle Ranked Battles del Modern Format invece i risultati non sono stati positivi come puoi vedere dallo screenshot seguente.
La stagione in corso è la seconda stagione che gioco esclusivamente nel Modern Format.
Ho completamente abbandonato le ranked battles del Wild Format perchè nel Modern Format saranno presto introdotte le misure anti-bots e io preferisco giocare contro i giocatori reali come me che si divertono a giocare a Splinterlands e non mi diverto a giocare contro i bots!
Quando mancano 6 giorni e 5 ore alla fine della stagione sono nella lega Diamond III del Monder Format e ho un punteggio di rating di 2897 punti.
Il mio obiettivo di gioco attuale è di riuscire a giocare stabilmente e in ogni stagione nelle leghe Diamond del Monder Format e questo obiettivo equivale a terminare le stagioni di Splinterlands almeno in lega Diamond I, risultato stagionale che mi permetterebbe di ripartire nella stagione successiva nella lega Diamond III.
Se voglio raggiungere il mio obiettivo di gioco devo continuare ad aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte tramite un'attività di ottimizzazione che consiste nel:
- vendere le carte che considero poco utili in battaglia e che non uso quasi mai o mai in battaglia
- vendere le carte che considero utili in battaglia ma solo a partire da un determinato livello a cui non posso elevarle perchè costano molto
- acquistare solo le carte che considero molto utili nelle battaglia delle leghe Gold+ del Modern Format.
- vendere le carte BETA che:
- non sono molto richieste sul mercato del noleggio e hanno un prezzo di noleggio basso
- hanno l'attributo Production Points basso e non sarà vantaggioso per me utilizzarle come worker cards nei miei land plots quando la fase 1.5 delle Lands inizierà.
Il mio potere di acquisto attuale è di 213708.44 DEC.
Nel post di oggi condivido le mie scelte di acquisto/upgrade delle carte dell'elemento Water che mi saranno particolarmente utili nelle battaglie delle leghe Diamond+ in cui l'elemento Water è l'unico elemento utilizzabile.
L'evocatore che uso nelle battaglie che hanno come scelta obbligata l'elemento Water è Kelya Frendul perchè è l'unico evocatore di massimo livello dell'elemento Water che ho nella mia collezione che posso usare nel Modern Format.
Mostri Leggendari dell'elemento Acqua
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le carte mostro leggendarie dell'elemento acqua utilizzabili nelle ranked battles del Modern Format che ho nella mia collezione.
Le carta che uso di più è River Hellondale di livello 4 che è secondo me un Must Buy per chi gioca nelle leghe Gold+ e Diamond+ perchè è una carta molto versatile ed ha un costo relativamente basso considerato la sua utilità in battaglia.
Utilizzo molto anche se meno frequentemente:
- Phantom of the Abyss - livello 1
- Djiin Oshannus - livello 4
- Baakjira - livello 3
Oggi ho deciso di aggiungere alla mia collezione Torrent Fiend di livello massimo = 11 BCX.
Al livello 4 Torrent Fiend acquisisce l'abilità Headwinds (Reduces the ranged attack of all enemy monsters) che è particolarmente utile quando l'avversario utilizza carte con attacco dalla distanza.

Per Torrent Fiend la differenza tra High Bid e BCX Price è relativamente piccola e per questo motivo ho deciso di acquistare subito 6 BCX.

Le carta epica dell'elemento acqua che uso di più è Tide Biter e la uso soprattutto in seconda posizione quando la regola di battaglia è Explosive Weaponery.
L'obiettivo di upgrade che ho scelto oggi è Wave Brood: livello 3 -> livello 4.
Nella mia collezione ho 1 Wave Brood livello 3 (10 BCX) + 4 BCX = 14 BCX.

Mi piace utilizzare Wave Brood quando voglio voglio indirizzare gli attacchi avversari verso una posizione diversa dalla prima e generalmente posiziono Wave Brood in ultima posizione e in combinazione con una carta con l'abilità Triage.
Wave Brood di livello 4 diventa più forte in battaglia rispetto al livello 3 perchè acquisisce l'abilità Void che riduce il danno subito da attacchi magici e quindi aumenta la sua potenziale resistenza.
Anche in questo caso ho scelto di acquistare immediatamente 6 BCX per raggiungere subito il mio ob iettivo di upgrade.
Per l'acquisto ho utilizzato Monstermarket, ho speso 9528.26 DEC e ho ricevuto un cashback di 228.67 DEC.

Quando avevo iniziato adoravo le carte ACQUA. Ultimamente sto faticando davvero molto con Splinterlands. Sto anche aggiornado alcune carte a dei livelli superiori, ma fatico lo stesso. Se le cose non migliorano proveró ad aumentare il tempo di gioco su Splinterlands, rubandolo al blogging. Giusto per vedere se riesco a tornare nelle leghe Silver con costanza
Il livello è aumentato rispetto al passato e con tante carte è diventato più difficile vincere le battaglie
Vediamo se da oggi cambia qualcosa perchè dovrebbero essere state già introdotte le misure anti-bots nel Modern format ;)

That is really awesome upgrading cards to next level gives us more power though i am not playing modern league so only playing wild league with beta summoners but will try my best to move to modern league because wild is getting tough day by day

Yes the Wild league will be more and more difficult and especially now because all the bots will only be able to play in the wild and therefore also the rewards in SPS will be less than before.
