I started playing on Terracore on March 23, 2023 when I invested 20 HIVE to buy my citizenship.

Terracore is an indie game developed by @crypt0gnome and is an idle game set in an apocalyptic world.

On Terracore, players must mine SCRAP tokens, the game's native tokens, which they can choose to sell or use to improve their game stats to advance faster in the game.

My Game Activity

In 16 days of play, I have accumulated 147.22 SCRAP tokens whose current market value is 18.41 HIVE = $7.71 (highest bid value - April 9, 2023)

I could have earned more SCRAPs because in 2-3 days I made only one claim and suffered many attacks but in real life I work and I am a father of a beautiful 9-year-old girl so I have a lot of commitments and I don't always have a lot of free time to devote to games...

I used most of the SCRAP tokens, 75 SCRAP, to improve my game stats.

I used 14 SCRAPs to increase the level of the ENGINEERING statistic from 1 to 4.

The ENGINEERING statistic allows you to increase the Mine Rate.
ENGINEERING = 1 = 0.0001 SCRAP per second = 0.36 SCRAP per hour
ENGINEERING = 4 = 0.0001331 SCRAP per second = 0.47916 SCRAP per hour

30 SCRAP I used them to increase the level of the DAMAGE statistic from 10 to 50.

This way when I attack another player I can take more SCRAP tokens from his STASH

I used 30 SCRAP to increase the level of the DEFENSE statistic from 10 to 50.

In this way, I increased the difficulty for those attacking me to subtract many SCRAP tokens from my STASH and also increased the probability of receiving fewer attacks especially from those with lower game stats than me.

I also used 1 SCRAP to increase the FAVOR statistic which is the game reputation useful for accessing other planets.

I staked 6 SCRAP to increase the STASH SIZE statistic to increase the capacity of my STASH which can now hold a maximum of 7 SCRAP.

My current game strategy is the following:

• when my STASH contains an amount close to 1 SCRAP I perform 1 or two attacks and then immediately make the claim.
  If my amount of SCRAP in my STASH exceeds the amount of 1 SCRAP I become a tempting attack target for those who have higher game stats than mine.
• I attack players who have lower stats than mine because they are unlikely to respond to my attack because they will prefer attack targets with defense and attack stats similar to theirs.

My Investment Strategy

I also consider all blockchain-based games to be real investments because there is always a financial side to evaluate and consider.

In particular I consider idle games more investments than games and my strategy in idle games is almost always based on achieving two goals simultaneously:

• goal 1: improve and progress in the game.
• goal 2: plan and reach the break-even point.

For this reason, I did not use all the SCRAP tokens I accumulated to increase the game stats but also sold 58.93 SCRAP on Hive Engine.

In the following image you can see how I decided to use the 147.22 SCRAP I have accumulated so far.

I sold a total of 58.93 SCRAP at two successive times and from the sale I made a profit of 9.52 SWAP.HIVE.

In 16 days of play I increased my game stats but also recovered almost 50% of my initial investment: 20 HIVE.

To reach the break-even point I need to earn another 10.48 HIVE then I will have transformed Terracore into a free to play.

When I have reached the break-even point, I can make a worry-free decision:

• whether to increase my investment
• whether to fully use in-game rewards to progress through the game
• Whether to use part of the in-game rewards to power up on Hive.

My future decisions on Terracore will be guided by two elements that I consider very important in idle games:

• market value of game tokens (SCRAP)
• number of active players.

In the coming week I will focus on improving my game statistics while in the following week I will focus on reaching the break-even point.

The balance of my first 16 days of play on Terracore is very positive both from a game and financial point of view.

I will conclude this post with some calculations that may be useful in evaluating Terracore from a financial point of view.

In the table below I have calculated the estimated gain per hour and per day (expressed in SCRAP, in HIVE and in dollars) achievable with the initial Mine Rate (Engineering = 1) based on the current market value of SCRAP tokens and not considering gains or losses from attacks inflicted or suffered.

Based on the results in the above table, the break-even point can be reached in an estimated and theoretical time of 18.50 days.

In the table below you can see the difference in value of SCRAP tokens (in HIVE and dollars) in the time interval: March 23, 2023 - April 9, 2023.

Terracore: My Game Activity and My Investment Strategy After 16 Days of Play

Ho iniziato a giocare su Terracore il 23 marzo 2023 quando ho investito 20 HIVE per acquistare la mia citizenship.

Terracore è un indie game sviluppato da @crypt0gnome ed è un idle game ambientato in un mondo apocalittico.

Su Terracore devi minare i token SCRAP, i token nativi del gioco, che puoi decidere di vendere o di utilizzare per migliorare le tue statistiche di gioco per avanzare più velocemente nel gioco.

My Game Activity

In 16 giorni di gioco ho accumulato 147.22 SCRAP tokens il cui valore attuale di mercato è di 18.41 HIVE = 7.71$ (highest bid value - 9 aprile 2023)

Potevo guadagnare un numero maggiore di SCRAP perchè in 2-3 giorni ho fatto un solo claim e ho subito molti attacchi ma nella vita reale lavoro e sono un padre di una bella bimba di 9 anni e quindi ho molti impegni e non ho sempre tanto tempo libero da dedicare ai giochi...

Ho utilizzato la maggior parte dei token SCRAP, 75 SCRAP, per migliorare le mie statistiche di gioco.

Ho utilizzato 14 SCRAP per aumentare il livello della statistica ENGINEERING da 1 a 4.

La statistica ENGINEERING permette di aumentare il Mine Rate.
ENGINEERING = 1 = 0.0001 SCRAP al secondo = 0.36 SCRAP all'ora
ENGINEERING = 4 = 0.0001331 SCRAP al secondo = 0.47916 SCRAP all'ora

30 SCRAP li ho utilizzati per aumentare il livello della statistica DAMAGE da 10 a 50.

In questo modo quando attacco un altro giocatore posso sottrargli più SCRAP tokens dal suo STASH

Ho utilizzato 30 SCRAP per aumentare il livello della statistica DEFENSE da 10 a 50.

In questo modo ho aumentato la difficoltà per chi mi attacca di sottrarre molti SCRAP dal mio STASH e ho anche aumentato la probabilità di ricevere un numero minore di attacchi soprattutto da chi ha statistiche di gioco inferiori alle mie.

Ho anche utilizzato 1 SCRAP per aumentare la statistica FAVOR che è la reputazione di gioco utile per accedere ad altri pianeti.

Ho messo in stake 6 SCRAP per aumentare la statistica STASH SIZE per aumentare la capienza del mio STASH che adesso può contenere un massimo di 7 SCRAP.

La mia strategia di gioco attuale è la seguente:

• quando il mio STASH contiene un quantitativo vicino ad 1 SCRAP eseguo 1 o due attacchi e poi faccio subito il claim
  Se il mio quantitativo di SCRAP nel mio STASH supera la quantità di 1 SCRAP divento un ghiotto obiettivo di attacco per chi ha statistiche di gioco superiori alle mie.
• attacco i giocatori che hanno statistiche inferiori alle mie perchè difficilmente risponderanno al mio attacco perchè preferiranno obiettivi di attacco con statistiche di difesa e attacco simili alle loro.

My Investment Strategy

Considero tutti i giochi basati su blockchain anche dei veri e propri investimenti perchè c'è sempre un lato finanziario da valutare e considerare.

In particolare considero gli idle games più investimenti che giochi e la mia strategia negli idle games è quasi sempre basata sul raggiungimento contemporaneo di due obiettivi:

• obiettivo 1: migliorare e progredire nel gioco
• obiettivo 2: pianificare e raggiungere il punto di pareggio

Per questo motivo non ho utilizzato tutti i token SCRAP che ho accumulato per aumentare le statistiche di gioco ma ho anche venduto 58.93 SCRAP su Hive Engine.

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere come ho deciso di utilizzare i 147.22 SCRAP che ho accumulato fino ad oggi.

Ho venduto un totale di 58.93 SCRAP in due momenti successivi e dalla vendita ho ottenuto un guadagno di 9.52 SWAP.HIVE.

In 16 giorni di gioco ho aumentato le mie statistiche di gioco ma ho anche recuperato quasi il 50% del mio investimento iniziale: 20 HIVE.

Per raggiungere il punto di pareggio devo guadagnare altri 10.48 HIVE poi avrò trasformato Terracore in un free to play.

Quando avrò raggiunto il punto di pareggio potrò decidere senza pensieri:

• se aumentare il mio investimento
• se utilizzare completamente le rewards di gioco per progredire nel gioco
• se utilizzare parte delle ricompense di gioco per fare power up su Hive

Le mie decisioni future su Terracore saranno guidate da due elementi che considero molto importanti negli idle games:

• valore di mercato dei token di gioco (SCRAP)
• numero dei giocatori attivi

Nella prossima settimana mi focalizzerò sul miglioramento delle mie statistiche di gioco mentre nella successiva mi focalizzerò sul raggiungimento del punto di pareggio.

Il bilancio dei miei primi 16 giorni di gioco su Terracore è molto positivo sia dal punto di vista del gioco che dal punto di vista finanziario.

Concludo questo post con alcuni calcoli che possono essere utili per valutare Terracore dal punto di vista finanziario.

Nella tabella seguente ho calcolato il guadagno stimato per ora e per giorno (espresso in SCRAP, in HIVE e in dollari) ottenibile con il Mine Rate iniziale (Engineering = 1) in base al valore attuale di mercato dei token SCRAP e non considerando i guadagni o le perdite derivanti dagli attacchi inflitti o subiti.

In base ai risultati della tabella precedente il punto di pareggio è raggiungibile in un tempo stimato e teorico di 18.50 giorni.

Nella tabella seguente puoi vedere la differenza di valore dei token SCRAP (in HIVE e in dollari) nell'intervallo di tempo: 23 marzo 2023 - 9 aprile 2023.
