My Introduction Post!

avatar

Hello Hive community! It’s my first time out here and I am absolutely thrilled!
First, let me introduce myself- My name is Divya Udyawar and I am here to tell you everything that goes on in the life and mind of a 20 something Indian girl. As you can clearly see, I am very much of a beach person! The sea is my safe haven!

I am a Genetic counselor by profession and I absolutely love what I do. I am sure those terminologies have intrigued you into finding out what it exactly is but I think I’ll save all about my profession for a whole different post altogether.

I was born in Mumbai and have lived here most of my life. I still do! I fall short of words to describe about this city- The city that never sleeps, the city of dreams! You will fall in love with it in ways you will never understand!

Raised by really amazing Indian parents, I count them as my favourite blessings. My parents just like maybe any parents in the world can do anything and everything to see me happy! Again, when it comes to them, I am at loss of words to describe my love for them! Oh just look at these cuties!

I pursued Biotechnology engineering in my bachelors from this awesome college in Mumbai. Man, it was the best phase of my life! I think I would like to play those four years in a loop. Can never get enough of all the fun I had!

Post my bachelors, I worked in a hospital as an intern for a year and then went on to pursue my Masters in Genetic Counseling in Manipal, Karnataka. I had never stayed out of my house and away from family.

Thats the breathtaking Manipal for you! I am just luring with one picture so that I can share so much more in the upcoming posts.

It was definitely very tough in the beginning, but as time passed by I met really amazing people out there who turned into family. I made sure I lived the freedom of being away from home to the fullest. Took some of the craziest trips with friends to Goa, Gokarna and a small hill station in Karnataka called Chikmagalur. I have so much to talk about each of these trips that I am definitely going to elaborate them in separate posts.

Here I am now, doing what I always wanted to. Working with a daycare chemotherapy centre with few of the finest oncologists in town. It definitely does feel like a superhero job!

I am married, it has hardly been two months in and I think we are just settling to the new change. My husband and I have a food blog together. It is called @bonhappytite on Instagram, you can go check it out for some really amazing food content. Indian food is something that can get you drooling anytime of the day. We are bigtime foodies and have immense love for food. I think that’s what keeps us bonded! There is not a particular favourite cuisine for us but we can have Momos anytime of the day. Momos is one of the best gifts that Darjeeling gave the world!

I love dancing and I, only I, think am a good singer. Never tried on people out of the fear of losing friends, haha! Few more things I love are myself, my people, connecting with the world and trying to make it a better place.

I would define myself to be more like a coconut. A very very tender one! I come across as somebody who has attitude and can be cold hearted, but surprise I am the exact opposite of that. I am very very emotional and especially weak in the knees when it comes to my most favourite people in the world! I think it’s both good and bad, like the two sides of the coin. I would like to speak more about it another time.
So that’s about it! That’s about me. That is my lifeinanutshell! Very punny, right?

Also, I would like to thank @bighungrypanda for introducing me to this lovely platform and for inviting me over to join the Hive community!
Writing this one feels great and I am super excited for what comes ahead! For now I’ll call it off for a day! Hope you all have a great one! Love yourself and everything else will fall in place.

This is me, signing off! Ciao!
