Finding Balance on Hive Amid Commitments

Time is obviously one of the most precious things to man. Just like money, time spent cannot be recouped. It is essential for each person to use it judiciously to achieve a lot for the day. We all have the same 24 hours, but some days it feels like just a twinkle of an eye, while other days it feels like 100 hours.

The era of social media has greatly affected how people spend their days because you can easily get hooked on a social media platform and not want to leave it for your important daily activities. Hive, as a blockchain social media platform, is different. It is an ecosystem with countless opportunities for its inhabitants; getting addicted to Hive will rather benefit you in the long run. As someone who has been here for quite a long time, I can attest that the avenue that the platform creates for learning is something that is overlooked. I have learned a lot from here, and I feel normal spending my whole day here without feeling like I am wasting my time.

I am someone who is very bad at multitasking; hence, I still find it very hard to strike a perfect balance between Hive and my day-to-day activities. I am currently a final-year student in the final semester; this should give you a hint of my daily activities. My typical day is split into three sections, and the activities within the day basically revolve around Hive, Academics, practicing coding, and sometimes with friends.

I have quite a few friends on campus, and sometimes we do visit one another, but it's rare these days because I am kind of antisocial and I feel normal being alone for a very long time. Because of that, only a handful of my friends actually know about my hostel. But I still try to keep the bond through WhatsApp texting and video calling.

For my academic studies, I have a dedicated timetable, which helps me keep track of my learning and other academic activities. I use Notion (a productivity tool too) to keep track of my school activities, and it has helped me stay abreast of tasks, assignments, and projects. I have managed to keep track of my academic activities, and I do attend lectures if they do not interfere with my daily schedule.

As an aspiring developer, a significant portion of my time is spent in front of the console and editor. I like trying to build simple things just to enrich my knowledge as a web developer.

Aside from all the activities mentioned above, I have been able to engage actively on Hive, and most of my day is spent here. On Hive, I create posts, engage with other users, and also use it as an opportunity to learn Web 3. All three activities; engaging, writing, and learning have significantly impacted my life thanks to Hive.

For about three weeks now, my activity here has slowed down, and it was due to the fact that I needed some time to put some sh*t together and then get back stronger. If you still find it hard to strike a perfect balance, the best way is to take some time for yourself and then get everything together. Remember that your mental health is crucial, and avoid educating yourself on stuff that affects it. Thank you for your time.
