A spiritual place by the sea

I can tell you for sure most of the establishments by the sea have their own spirit. As I don't live nearby any sea I love to travel to such city, towns and villages and sense the different nature and people.

Today I am going to share with you few of my photos and memories from Ahtopol, a lovely small town at the Southern shores of Black Sea, Bulgaria

Through the years I've been few times there. The very first time I traveled with a group of photographers and our goal was to check out the beauties of Black Sea at the late autumn. There is always a lot to see and take photos of. Just walking a couple minutes in the morning and the Sun rises just behind the local lighthouse, about 12 meters high.

The private hotel we were accommodated to is quite an interesting place too. It has it's own Museum of Anchor!

Interesting artifacts have been brought out of the sea bottom nearby the town:

Lots of maps and treasuries have been found as well and as Bulgaria is one of the oldest countries on Balkans each new history item found can bring a lot of interest and discussions.

By the way, do you know that Bulgaria gave the Cyrillic alphabet to the world? ;)

In the town there is a big fisherman community I guess there is a lot of fish around as you can see some of those sports-fishermen early in the morning with their luxury SUVs and fancy boats along the old wooden fishing boats of the locals.

The lighthouse is photographed a lot, especially when there are strong winds and huge waves that crash into it creating scenery landscapes. The cold water cannot stop this group of four wave board enthusiasts:

Rocks, clouds, the crystal blue sea water... Amazing scene, isn't it? :)

"Mew", one of the most colorful wooden fishing boats of the local fishermen. I am sure it could tell a lot of stories.

If you travel to Eastern Bulgaria, do not hesitate to visit Ahtopol, this lovely and charming town by the sea! :)

Museum of anchors - how interesting! Those wave board enthusiasts are crazy... 😮 - so near those rocks!
Rocks, clouds, the crystal blue sea water... some blue sky and a lighthouse of some character! Yup - most photographable!! 😃😊

Thank you, @ackhoo. I admire the fact that the owner of the place built that museum instead of adding another 20-30 rooms for guests at the hotel. I forgot to mention he was an excellent cook. The 3 nights we spent there the first time were full of excellent unforgettable tastes :)

I would say the food there was perfect... extraordinary. I can't wait to go there again, hopefully sooner :)

I love this post. By reading it, I almost got to experience it! Great pictures. I love the ones of the lighthouse, especially the close-up.
