Spending some quality time at the beautiful park

Flying from Malaga, Spain, and arriving several hours earlier in the area, I was trying to figure out how to "utilize" better the awesome weather and see some place beautiful and relaxing prior the departure. I opened the online map and after a short research, I liked a park, that was just a few minutes from the airport by car.

It is called "Parque de la Batería", in Torremolinos, Málaga, Spain.

To the English speaker and reader, there was not much info about this park. I found the official page and a short description on Wikipedia, both in Spanish. If you're interested in finding our more, scroll to the bottom of the page, where I pasted the two links. Anyway.

What caught my attention was the beautiful combination of fountains, sculptures, free parking and promising great views towards the sea from the tall "Torre Mirador".

Indeed, there were many free parking slots available and I parked near the fountain. It was a perfect day to have a walk and chill out before entering the "belly" of the big metallic bird ;)

So the alleys around the fountain were first to enjoy and explore!

Suddenly, my attention was grabbed by the few seagulls, drinking from the surface and of course, fighting. They were quite skillful and I could tell they are playing along.

They were so beautiful to watch.

Their social games were "top". Very fast as well!

Back to the park itself. I found out there are many sculptures, made by marble, all places inside the artificial lake. With human and animal themes. Some of them were water outlets as well.

Jets of water, with different sequences and strength.

With beautiful bushes around, perfectly shaped.

Statues of saints, with their feet in the water.

Is that place used for some small theater plays? Or that theme is just to add extra artistic feel to the park?

With a few marble benches in rows, that place is quite suitable for small performances.

The park is surrounded by a few small hotels and residential buildings.

Another fountain with mythological sculptures.

The benches there were true pieces of art. Carved marble. Cool to sit on and real pleasure to be able to touch that fine art!

It seems the place took important role in the past, as there are defensive artillery units from the wars, left as memorial.

Time to climb the external spiral stone steps of Torre Mirador and enjoy the 360 degree views it provides for.

The small beautiful alleys with plenty of benches to sit on and relax. Or have a chit-chat with friends.

As you can see, there are kids areas too. And bicycle lane.

The views towards the sea were mesmerizing.

And some of the benches, as seen from above.

The park is so green that it almost suppresses the noises coming from the streets surrounding the park.

Life closer to the beach is different though.

There are plenty of small observation decks.

A passing airplane reminded me of the time flowing...

It may look noisy and busy, but in fact it wasn't. I am grateful I managed to get there in the perfect part of the day!

More sea views to enjoy.

There are alleys in the park going underground but they were with limited access.

Small company, preparing some gaming event, obviously planned for later in the afternoon.

And one final look towards the beautiful blue sea, over the roof tops, a small boat far away, trying to capture the not-so-strong wind at that time:

Back on the ground, going to another part of the park, I discovered a small botanical part with some trees and bushes, specially planted to grow there and be seen by the pedestrians enjoying the area:

Next to it, I first heard and then noticed the children zone, it was much busies than the rest of the park. Children of all ages with their parents. Ice-cream boots and a couple of kiosks.

And now, for desert, my final but my most interesting discovery here in this lovely park is this tree.

As far as I understood, this is a wish-tree, where couples go and hang an item symbolically, wishing to either have a baby, or wishing for health for their children.

So beautiful, isn't it?

From the point of view of Photography, there was plenty to capture with my camera. Good memories are never enough, right?

I think it won't be too much if I say that all the pictures look surreal - the sculptures in/of the fountain, the birds, the view of the sea, the plane in the sky... I don't know if this place is really like that, or if you again are showing your functions and abilities of a magician-photographer. 😊
The first picture is epic and says it all! And the tree you end up with is beyond extraordinary! Amazing place!

Yes, this is how I saw the place. I am sure other people will see it differently. The uniqueness of personal perspectives :)

That tree really impressed me. Lovely tradition, isn't it? ;)
