The Green of Iceland

Perhaps you've heard that already... Iceland is green. Very green.

Very, very green :) Contrary to what its name supposes.

Actually, from the top of my head I can tell you that there aren't many European countries that are green in August.

For instance, check out how the light blue jacket of my friend contradicts with the filed of moss:

Is the red beak a means to communicate? It's the perfect combination color for the green but I suppose it has another, evolutionary purpose :)

In the summer, this looks quite romantic. Sheep, horses, the greenest pastures. I wonder, though, how would that same scene look in a freezing blistering white winter?

Even that place with hot geysers and sulfur blowing springs, has the green prevailing:

Perhaps you think, with so many rivers and amazing huge waterfalls, it is very humid. Well, around them waterfalls, it feels like it is constantly raining but there are vast spaces without rivers or falls. Yet they are again so very green.

Like this beautiful small shed blending with the meadow and the nearby forest.

Now you know where to go in Europe if you want to photograph the green :)
