Vitosha Nature Park colorful walk

Greetings!

First of all, Happy International Women's Day 2023!

Today I wish all the best to the more tender and of course, the more beautiful part of the human population of our lovely planet! :)

Thus my post today is going to be a bit more colorful and flower-ish, something, that I have to admit is not what I usually create and share, LOL.

However, as this special day brings spring feelings, sharing all those vivid scenes sounds logical, right? ;) So here we go!

Just a few quick facts, I promise I am not going to bore you with such. Vitosha is the mountain that is the closest to the capital city of Bulgaria, Sofia. Located just to the South of the city, some of the districts, named the most luxurious, are established at the Northern outskirts of the mountain. The bigger part of it is declared protected Nature Park where construction is not permitted, in general. Ski facilities in the winter and several hiking trails are available. A few cable cars as well.

I've been always a beginner skier, to say it that way, as winter sports isn't my thingy, however the option to go to the ski slopes with a short ride on public transport is quite tempting, right? Still, the mountain is a great place for walks and "recharging the batteries" at any season! :)

Now back to the colorful walk ;)

That enchanted mountain forest with blooming yellow flowers.... one true fairy-tale!

I'd really love to go into more details with these yellow blooming gems!

"Hidden" small villages now and then...

Beautiful dry remains form the last summer.

Paintings in the sky.

Streams, murmuring to my inner ear :)

Enchanted abandoned wooden bridges to other dimensions:

One solitary flowering soldier:

...and the magic of the micro waterfalls.

The huge magic of the mountain, giving birth to Life!

Vitosha next to the capital is one of the most unusual things in this city, and I'm not sure its residents can realize it. At least I, while living there, could not fully realize and appreciate it. A few steps away from this chaotic and hectic hive is nature. And not just any nature, but a wild forest, a mountain with all its wildness and strangeness. It is so easy for a city person to step there, to literally step into another world, a fairy tale that deceives with its fabulousness. Too bad I didn't take advantage of it while I lived there...
