City Museum, formerly the Palace of the Captains General [ESP-ENG]

Hello friends of Architecture + Design, I hope you are having a nice family weekend, I want to show you one of the buildings in Havana that in my opinion is one of the most beautiful architecturally, the City Museum, it has a baroque style , I could spend hours looking at any building of this style, they have so many details that I will always find something new.

Years ago I had visited this museum, but now at its entrance is the statue of our beloved Eusebio Leal Spengler, city historian, who died in 2020, because this statue caught my attention because it is so clear and realistic that it seems that Eusebio walk through the streets of your Havana, observe how much detail this statue made in bronze by the artist José Villa Soberón has.

That that statue was there and I stopped to look at it was what made me look and enter the City Museum. It is located on Calle Tacón between Obispo and O'Reilly, in front of the Plaza de Armas, very close to the Castillo de la Real Fuerza. It has a wide portal with 10 stone columns, beautiful arches and lampposts, the windows with iron balusters and the main door is decorated with marble, above the entrance is the Royal Crown with the coat of arms, it is logical since this current museum , was the Government House or Palace of the General Captains in colonial times, built and remodeled between 1776 and 1835.

Passing the entrance you enter an extraordinary central patio with a mixture of sculptures, vegetation and surrounded by beautiful columns and stone arches. In the center is the statue of Christopher Columbus sculpted in marble, which was made in 1832, in a corner of the patio next to the vegetation there are several birds made of bronze.

From the patio you can see all the columns, arches and corridors that border both floors, it is very beautiful, you can see, the work that the stone columns, the railings, the ceilings have. In addition to the small balconies that the mezzanine shows.

At the bottom of the patio there is an entrance made entirely of turned wood that was where the carriages were kept, in fact some are still preserved..

It has wide stairs with marble floors and beautiful sculptures on the landings that are works of art. There are stained glass windows displayed in the windows located on the stairs with images of shields.

From the second floor you can see the entire patio, very beautiful and its corridors are wide with black and white and sculptures are exhibited at the entrances of several rooms.

In the museum there are 40 exhibition rooms, it really is a beauty, in them there is furniture from the 19th century, the rooms preserve their original lamps, paintings and mirrors, the curtains are arranged as in the time it was built, really an effort to the conservation and care of the different valuable objects that are found in them.

I was very struck by the conservation of the drawings on the walls and ceilings, as well as the carved stone work on the doors.

They literally have attempeted my murder and are trying to kill me with V2K and RNM. Five years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism ..... https://ecency.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

Beautiful photographs @lileisabel 😁
I remember this place, when I was there, there was a little orchestra playing in the courtyard.
We didn’t go up and inside. But stayed and watched the musicians.
Thanks for showing me more and telling more about it.
Have a wonderful Sunday 👋🏻☀️

I truly enjoyed your tour as usual, dear @lileisabel! Like any palace, no matter where or when it was built, the Palacio de los Capitanes Generales is a magnificent building in which attention to every detail, both in architecture and in the interior, is striking.
Just like you, I adore Baroque too, even with its elaborateness, which, however, is not much noticeable here. I think everything is measured here, but the wall painting, the furniture, the sculptures, the decorations on the doors cannot but be noted as magnificent... Actually, everything 😊
