[ESP-ENG] Dragonfly necklace and earrings , made with zippers

Buenas amigos de Jewelry, les deseo a todos un linda y provechosa semana, hoy quiero mostrarles una de las creaciones que más he disfrutado haciéndola, un lindo conjunto de collar y pendientes, como siempre tratando de darle un nuevo uso a las cremalleras ya en desuso. Me gusta mucho los trabajos con cremalleras, siempre quedan muy bonitos. En esta ocacion hice una libélula para el collar y los aretes con la forma de sus alas, me gustó mucho el resultado, espero que a todo ustedes también les guste.
Ahora les explicaré todo el proceso y los materiales que emplee.

Good friends of Jewelry, I wish you all a nice and profitable week, today I want to show you one of the creations that I enjoyed making, a nice set of necklace and earrings, as always trying to give a new use to the zippers already in disuse. I really like the work with zippers, they are always very nice. This time I made a dragonfly for the necklace and the earrings with the shape of its wings, I really liked the result, I hope you all like it too.
Now I will explain the whole process and the materials I used.

Para comenzar Le corto la tela a la cremallera y pinté en un papel un boceto de la libélula para poder guiarme en su confección.

To begin I cut the fabric to the zipper and painted a sketch of the dragonfly on a piece of paper to guide me in making it.

Tomé la cremallera y comencé a enrollar la punta para que se formará la cabecita de la libélula, para que se quedara en esa forma le coloque silicona y espere un rato a que cercara.

I took the zipper and began to roll up the tip to form the dragonfly's head, so that it would stay in that shape I put silicone on it and waited a while for it to close.

Luego le di la forma a un ala y volví a poner silicona y esperé a que secara para poder avanzar.

Then I shaped one wing and put silicone on it again and waited for it to dry so I could move on.

Continué dándole forma a la otra ala y volví a pegar y así fui formando las otras dos alas más pequeñas a todo. Le fui poniendo silicona principalmente por la parte de atrás, para que no se deshiciera.

I continued shaping the other wing and glued it again and so I was forming the other two smaller wings to all I was putting silicone mainly on the back, so it would not unravel.

Ya por último le coloco un pedacito de cremallera que hace función del cuerpo de la libélula que es fino y alargado.

Finally I put a little piece of zipper that serves as the body of the dragonfly, which is thin and elongated.

A continuación tomo la libélula terminada, cuando ya está bien pegada y la coloco sobre una hoja en blanco y con un lápiz marcó la forma de las alas, además marcó toda la silueta de la libélulas, posteriormente recorto todas las partes.

Next I take the finished dragonfly, when it is already well glued and I place it on a blank sheet and with a pencil I mark the shape of the wings, I also mark the whole silhouette of the dragonfly, then I cut out all the parts.

Por el molde de las alas y la silueta recorto de fieltro azul oscuro quedando como se ve en la imagen

For the mold of the wings and the silhouette I cut out the dark blue felt as shown in the picture.

A continuación pongo el fieltro en las alas y por la parte de atrás pego la silueta de fieltro recortada.

Then I put the felt on the wings and on the back I glue the cut out felt silhouette.

Luego hago con el alambre de cobre dos anillas redondos y un broche, para poder sujetar la libélula al cordel.

Then I make with the copper wire two round rings and a clasp, in order to attach the dragonfly to the string.

Coloco una de las anillas en la cabeza de la libélula. Corto el hilo encerado negro a la medida de 50 cm y en uno de sus extremos ato la otra anilla, paso la anilla con la libélula por el hilo y en el otro extremo ato el cierre que había hecho, terminando así el collar.

I place one of the rings on the head of the dragonfly. I cut the black waxed thread to the measure of 50 cm and in one of its ends I tie the other ring, I pass the ring with the dragonfly by the thread and in the other end I tie the clasp that I had made, finishing this way the necklace.

Como me sobró un trocito de la cremallera, quise combinar este indo collar con unos pendientes pequeños que hicieran juego y quedaran bonito.
Empecé haciendo dos anillos y los ganchos para los pendientes.

Since I had a little piece of the zipper left over, I wanted to combine this unusual necklace with some small earrings that would match and look pretty.
I started by making two rings and the hooks for the earrings.

Tomé la cremallera que me sobraba, que medía 10 cm y la corté por la mitad, las uní por los extremos como si fuera el ala de una libélula, pero antes de unirlas puse una anilla en el centro de cada una.

I took the zipper that I had left over, which measured 10 cm and cut it in half, I joined them at the ends as if it were the wing of a dragonfly, but before joining them I put a ring in the center of each one.

Luego con el molde que había hecho de las alas pequeñas recorté cuatro del fieltro y los coloqué en la siguiente disposición, dos en la parte delantera y dos en la trasera, pegados con silicona.

Then with the mold I had made of the small wings I cut four out of the felt and placed them in the following arrangement, two on the front and two on the back, glued with silicone.

Introduje el gancho en la anilla del colgante y ya están terminados estos lindos aretes.

I inserted the hook in the ring of the pendant and these pretty earrings are finished.
