The church of the Passionists in the Vibora neighborhood of Havana.[ESP-ENG]

Good friends of Arquitectura +Diseño, I wish you all a nice weekend with family and friends. Today I want to show you a place of tranquility and peace, with beautiful architecture, the church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and San Pablo de la Cruz, although everyone knows it as the church of Los Pasionistas de la Vibora. Some time ago I was about to visit this beautiful place, because my aunt Rosa, my mother's sister, got married there more than 50 years ago and I had always been told about the beauty of this church, so earlier today I went and I was really amazed with so much beauty.

This church is located in the La Víbora neighborhood in the municipality of 10 de Octubre in Havana, specifically on the corner of Buenaventura and Vista alegre, I love the names of these streets, divine to plant a church there, just a few meters from the central Calzada de 10 de Octubre, one of the most populous and busiest avenues.

Hoy quiero mostrarles un lugar de tranquilidad y paz, con una hermosa arquitectura, la iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús y San Pablo de la Cruz, aunque todos la conocen como la iglesia de Los Pasionistas de la Víbora. Hace algún tiempo estuba por visitar este hermoso lugar, porque mi tía Rosa, hermana de mi madre, se casó allí hace más de 50 años y siempre me habían hablado de la belleza de esta iglesia, así que hoy temprano fui y realmente quedé maravillada con tanta belleza.
Esta iglesia se encuentra en el barrio de La Víbora en el municipio de 10 de Octubre en La Habana, concretamente en la esquina de Buenaventura y Vista alegre, me encantan los nombres de estas calles, divinos para plantar una iglesia allí, a pocos metros de la céntrica Calzada de 10 de Octubre, una de las avenidas más pobladas y concurridas.

The Passionist congregation was founded in 1720, by St. Paul of the Cross with the foundation of a convent in Italy.
The church of which he spoke to you today was the first of this congregation in Cuba. It is not a very big church like others I have seen, but it is very beautiful and from the moment you approach the place, the two huge openwork towers that highlight its gothic style call your attention.
This church was built between 1936 and 1948, thanks to the initiative of the priest Nicéforo Díez. The beautiful towers were finished 5 years after its inauguration, in 1953.

La congregación pasionista fue fundada en 1720, por San Pablo de la Cruz con la fundación de un convento en Italia.
La iglesia de la que les habló hoy fue la primera de esta congregación en Cuba. No es una iglesia muy grande como otras que he visto, pero sí muy hermosa y desde que te acercas al lugar, te llaman la atención las dos enormes torres caladas que resaltan su estilo gótico.
Esta iglesia fue construida entre 1936 y 1948, gracias a la iniciativa del sacerdote Nicéforo Díez. Las hermosas torres se terminaron 5 años después de su inauguración, en 1953.

The façade of the church is very beautiful and is composed of the main entrance arch that ends in point, with beautiful tympanums, accentuating its Gothic accent, as well as the twin windows, where there are flower-shaped inlays at the top of the arches.

In the center of the façade, at the top of the entrance arch, you can see the image of Saint Gemma Galgani, a young Italian Passionist, venerated and sanctified by the Catholic Church.

La fachada de la iglesia es muy hermosa y está compuesta por el arco principal de la entrada que termina en punta, con hermosos tímpanos, acentuando su acento gótico, así como las ventanas geminadas, donde hay incrustaciones en forma de flores en la parte superior de los arcos.
En el centro de la fachada, en la parte superior del arco de entrada, se puede ver la imagen de Santa Gemma Galgani, una joven pasionista italiana, venerada y santificada por la Iglesia Católica.

On the exterior grille there is a heart and a cross which is the symbol of the congregation.

En la reja exterior hay un corazón y una cruz que es el símbolo de la congregación.

The two beautiful and striking towers on either side of the facade are 50 meters high and are visible from afar despite the church being located in a very irregular and densely populated area. They are very striking.

Las dos hermosas y llamativas torres a ambos lados de la fachada miden 50 metros de altura y se ven desde lejos a pesar de que la iglesia está situada en una zona muy irregular y densamente poblada. Son muy llamativas.

When we enter the temple, what we see inside is even more wonderful than the outside and you can see how beautiful it is. It has a main nave divided by columns that end in pointed arches, those peaks fascinate me in the structures. From the center of each pointed arch hang beautiful antique lamps, that view fascinates me, they made my eyes open wider and wider so as not to miss a detail.

Cuando entramos en el templo, lo que vemos en el interior es aún más maravilloso que el exterior y se puede ver lo hermoso que es. Tiene una nave principal dividida por columnas que terminan en arcos terminados en puntas, esos picos me fascinan en las estructuras. Del centro de cada arco apuntado cuelgan hermosas lamparas antiguas , esa vista me fascina, hicieron que mis ojos se abrieran más y más para no perder un detalle.

On each side of the main nave, there are two narrower aisles, lined on one side by the row of columns and on the other by the different altars of the various deities, among them the Patroness of Cuba, the most holy Caridad del Cobre, and beautiful windows covered with dazzling stained glass.

A cada lado de la nave principal, hay dos pasillos más estrechos, que en un lado están bordeados por la fila de columnas y en el otro los diferentes altares de las distintas deidades, entre ellas la Patrona de Cuba, la santísima Caridad del Cobre, y hermosos ventanales cubiertos de deslumbrantes vitrales.

The main nave and side aisles lead to the main altar in the center and two altars on each side beautiful work they have, full of engravings, stained glass and finished in pointed domes.

La nave principal y las laterales conducen al altar mayor en el centro y dos altares a cada lado hermoso el trabajo que tienen, llenos de grabados, vitrales y terminados en cúpulas puntiagudas.

The work of the ceilings is precious, always making clear its gothic character, is joined in pointed domes, which perform geometric figures. With stained glass windows around that enhance its beauty.

El trabajo de los techos es precioso, dejando siempre claro su carácter gótico, se une en cúpulas apuntadas, que realizan figuras geométricas. Con vitrales alrededodor que realzan su belleza.

All the interior columns have the same style, they look like a set of united columns placed on marble bases and steep up to the beginning of the pointed arches.

Todas las columnas interiores tienen el mismo estilo, parecen un conjunto de columnas unidas colocadas sobre bases de mármol y empinadas hasta el inicio de los arcos puntiagudos.
