Wednesday Walk. Don Quijote de La Mancha en la Habana❤️

Hello my Wednesday Walk friends I am joining this Wednesday walk challenge since it is becoming abiltual every week. Today I want to share with you a place I saw two days ago because it was the birthday of the grandson of a friend and when I finished work I went to the store to get a gift, but it had been a long time since I passed by the Parquecito del Quijote as we call it and I took several photos.

Hola mis amigos de Wednesday Walk me uno a este reto de Wednesday walk ya que se está haciendo abiltual cada semana. Hoy quiero compartir con vosotros un lugar que vi hace dos días porque era el cumpleaños del nieto de un amigo y cuando terminé de trabajar me fui a la tienda a buscar un regalo, pero hacía tiempo que no pasaba por el Parquecito del Quijote como lo llamamos y le hice varias fotos.

I keep a special memory of this park with that figure out of the imagination of Miguel de Cervantes Saabedra, the great Don Quixote de la Mancha. I tell you that this sculpture was placed in this park around the 80's when I was a teenager and I was in high school, it was quite an event, my school was quite close and we all went to see it and it was a meeting point throughout our youth.

Guardo un recuerdo especial de este parque con esa figura salida de la imaginación de Miguel de Cervantes Saabedra, el gran Don Quijote de la Mancha. Te cuento que esta escultura fue colocada en este parque alrededor de los años 80 cuando yo era una adolescente y estaba en la secundaria, era todo un acontecimiento, mi colegio estaba bastante cerca y todos íbamos a verla y era un punto de encuentro durante toda nuestra juventud.

When I started studying at the University my school was only 150 meters away from the park, it is located on 23rd and J street, my school was on 23rd and L, every afternoon we always went to that little park and we did the count of the day before going home, we liked it very much and it had a big tree nearby that gave a lot of shade.

Cuando empecé a estudiar en la Universidad mi colegio estaba a solo 150 metros del parque, está ubicado en la calle 23 y J, mi colegio estaba en la 23 y L, todas las tardes siempre íbamos a ese parquecito y hacíamos el recuento del día antes de ir a casa, nos gustaba mucho y tenía un gran árbol cerca que daba mucha sombra.

Today I tell you all this because when I passed by the place everything has changed, except for the big sculpture of Don Quijotes that surely has witnessed conversations of several generations.

Hoy les cuento todo esto porque cuando pasé por el lugar todo ha cambiado, excepto la gran escultura de Don Quijotes que seguramente ha sido testigo de conversaciones de varias generaciones.

Now in that park there is a Crafts Fair that is very visited by all generations, because they sell many items for everyone, but mainly for tourists both domestic and foreign, they sell many creations with many Cuban roots, all handmade from different national and recycled materials, they use leather as the main raw material.

Ahora en ese parque hay una Feria de Artesanía que es muy visitada por todas las generaciones, porque venden muchos artículos para todos, pero principalmente para los turistas tanto nacionales como extranjeros, venden muchas creaciones con muchas raíces cubanas, todas hechas a manode diferentes materiales nacionales y reciclados, utilizan el cuero como principal materia prima.

I was very surprised to see that little park turned into a place of commerce and with a lot of Cuban craftsmanship around, although I confess something, that place was so particular and intimate that I felt very nostalgic of my little park of my youth.

Me sorprendió mucho ver ese pequeño parque convertido en un lugar de comercio y con mucha cubanía alrededor, aunque confieso algo, ese lugar era tan particular e íntimo que sentí mucha nostalgia de mi pequeño parque de la juventud.
