| Initiative: The well-being of celebrating Christmas. Why do you celebrate it?
Navidad, navidad, linda navidad...
He ahí gran parte de mi bienestar.

There are 39 days left to celebrate Christmas, and already, in many parts of the world, preparations are beginning. It is amazing how the celebration of one day (December 25, the birth of Jesus) can take many weeks of planning.
I ask you holos&Lotus friends, how do you celebrate Christmas? And more importantly and the reason for this post, what well-being do you feel you get from celebrating Christmas?
I invite you to participate in this touching initiative and to reflect on those benefits that our being gets from every detail of our Christmas celebrations.
Each family, group of friends, or clan, has its own customs when it comes to enjoying and commemorating the birth of Jesus, from gastronomy, decoration, clothing, meetings and music. But each of us lives it differently. Each one feels a nice warmth, and it is that nice feeling that I would like us to share through this initiative.
I take the first step and share with you my well-being in celebrating Christmas:
Christmas, Christmas, beautiful Christmas...
At home my parents have always been very festive and Christmas has always been a time when we enjoy a lot. Particularly family gatherings have always been very enjoyable for me, because being with the people I love recharges me with energy in different aspects of my emotional balance.
The pleasure of Christmas food:
The preparation of hallacas is an event that is planned with zeal and anticipation. It is comical, but I think it happens in most homes, that the participants in the preparation of the hallacas go up steps as far as their contribution is concerned. First you start as a leaf washer, then the following year you move up the ranks and are allowed to cut seasonings, marinate here and there and participate a little more, who knows if they even let you put the dough on the sheet. By the next year, you may be allowed to do other things with a higher level of difficulty or just move up to the tying department, ha, ha, ha, ha.
At home my children and nephews took a good leap to all that protocol and since they were very young, yes, very judicious, they participate in most of the steps in the elaboration of the hallacas. That is a great part of my well-being. Seeing them so dedicated, washing leaves, drying, arranging and even assembling the hallacas, makes me feel such a huge joy, but so huge that any anguish or sorrow that I may feel vanishes immediately to see our beautiful generation inheriting our customs.
The preparation of the ham bread is another activity that we love to do. We used to buy the breads, but for more than 6 years now we have been preparing them ourselves and we love the way they turn out, the children also enjoy the preparation.
And what to say about when the day of Christmas dinner arrives? That bustle of children excited about the delicacies they will eat. The expectation of how the hallacas turned out, which let me tell you, not to be modest, but they are delicious, heh, heh, heh. The joy of being together, of sharing, of laughing, of knowing we are united and loved. All this loving and culinary revolution fills me with immense well-being.
Music, queen companion in every Christmas around the world:
At home we are very musical, needless to say or remember that my brother, his children, his wife, are musicians and my daughters are following the same steps, and I ... dear friends and I, I have it in my blood. The incredible well being that listening to music produces has no way to be explained, and much more Christmas music.
When I was a little girl and teenager we had the tradition of singing Christmas carols, bagpipes or aguinaldos. My brother would play the drum or the cuatro and I would sing and sing, while my mom, dad and my other siblings listened and enjoyed. It is a custom that has been lost a bit and that this year my sister wants to rescue. I fully support her.
The arrival of the baby God:
If there were a wellness meter, to measure the wonderful sensations that run through my body when the gifts of the baby Jesus arrive, I would surely explode, because my excitement is so great.
As a child I enjoyed this moment a lot, but it is now that I am a mom that I enjoy it infinitely more. Seeing the excited faces of my children and nieces and nephews is priceless. I am fascinated by that expectation that they have from the very day they write their letters and that grows and grows as the days go by, so, when the gifts finally arrive, the emotion, love and tenderness is so much, that I am speechless.
In short, I am convinced that during the Christmas season we release a lot of hormones that make us feel incredibly good and it is thanks to these pleasant sensations, that each following year, we return to repeat the traditions in search of repeating those moments of so much happiness among family and friends. Time and circumstances change and so do the reasons to celebrate. The important thing is not to lose that attitude that makes us enjoy these beautiful dates.
And you, do you dare to share with us, what things about Christmas make you feel good?
