Christmas is the time of year that brings more emotion to people, some of us receive it full of joy, hope, family unity, reconciliation, others with sadness for those who are no longer among the living but who have filled their hearts with resignation and try to enjoy this beautiful time of year.
For me it is an honor to participate in this contest, especially in this community, because talking about the Christmas is reliving those moments that with so much love I have shared with my family, celebrating the birth of Jesus, making a celebration full of love. That is why it motivates me to participate and express in words everything that my heart feels.
Without further ado, let's get started.
¡Holaaaaaaaa! Mis queridísimas amigas de Ladies of Hive
La navidad es la época del año que más emotividad trae a las personas, algunos la recibimos llenos de alegría, esperanza, de unión familiar, de reconciliación, otros con tristeza por los que ya no están entre los vivos pero que han llenado su corazón de resignación y tratan de disfrutar esta época tan bella del año.
Para mi es un honor participar en este concurso, sobre todo en esta comunidad, porque hablar de la navidad es revivir esos momentos que con tanto amor he compartido con mi familia, celebrar el nacimiento de Jesús, haciendo un agasajo lleno de mucho amor. Es por ello que me motiva participar y expresar con palabras todo lo que mi corazón siente.
Sin más, comencemos.
Do you like to travel during the holidays, or stay close to home?
Since my birth, Christmas represents an important event in my family because without a doubt, it is at this time that all the siblings meet with our parents to spend a few days of joy.
When we leave mom and dad's house, to grow as a person, to train professionally, to form our families, at Christmas we all run to where mom and dad are. So if we don't live nearby we travel wherever they are. That was the tradition until almost 4 years ago. Unfortunately with the death of our father, the pillar of our family, we have had to modify the custom, not only because of his loss, but also for many reasons beyond our control, the family reunion has moved to my home. Our mother spends long periods in my home and it is here that we concentrate for the celebration.
Times have changed a lot and with them traditions, but Christmas has remained and perpetuated and it is in our homes where we must rescue it, with much love and teaching our children and grandchildren how important it is to share.
¿Te gusta viajar durante las vacaciones o quedarte cerca de casa?
Desde mi nacimiento, la navidad representa un acontecimiento importante en mi familia porque sin duda, es en esta época que todos los hermanos nos reunimos con nuestros padres para pasar unos días de alegría.
Cuando salimos de casa de papá y mamá, a crecer como persona, a formarnos profesionalmente, a formar nuestras familias, en navidad todo corremos a donde están papá y mamá. Asi que si no vivimos cerca viajamos a donde sea que se encuentren. Esa fue la tradición hasta hace casi 4 años. Lamentablemente con el fallecimiento de nuestro padre, el pilar de nuestra familia, hemos tenido que modificar la costumbre, no sólo por su pérdida, sino que también por muchas causas ajenas a nuestra voluntad, la reunión en familia se ha trasladado a mi hogar. Nuestra madre pasa largas temporadas en mi hogar y es aquí donde nos concentramos para la celebración.
Los tiempos han cambiado mucho y con ello las tradiciones, pero la Navidad ha permanecido y perpetuado y es en nuestros hogares donde debemos rescatarla, con mucho amor y enseñando a nuestros hijos y nietos lo importante que es compartir.
What is your favorite holiday food, and why?
At home, as in many homes in Venezuela, the hallaca is the traditional dish mainly. Its elaboration brings together all the members of the family, each one with an assigned activity. Some wash the leaves, while others chop meats and vegetables and legumes. The moment is shared with Christmas bonuses and a good cream punch.
At home we prepare a Christmas dish that not only contains hallaca, it also includes chicken salad, baked leg and ham bread that you cannot miss. It is also a tradition in my family to make a cold cake our mother always made for this celebration and that now she passed the preparation of it into my hands. But I like everything, everything, everything that we serve on our Christmas plate, hahahaha. But without a doubt, my favorite dish is the one I share in the company of my loved ones.

¿Cuál es tu comida navideña favorita y por qué?
En casa, como en muchos hogares de Venezuela, la hallaca es el plato tradicional principalmente. Su elaboración reúne a todos los miembros de la familia, cada uno con una actividad asignada. Unos lavan las hojas, mientras otros pican las carnes y los vegetales y legumbres. Se comparte el momento con aguinaldos y con un buen ponche crema.
En casa preparamos un plato navideño que no sólo contiene la hallaca, también lleva ensalada de gallina, pernil horneado y el pan de jamón que no puede faltar. También en mi familia es tradición hacer una torta fría nuestra madre hacía siempre para esta celebración y que ahora pasó a mis manos su elaboración. Pero de todo, todo, todo lo que servimos en nuestro plato navideño me gusta, jajajajaja. Pero sin duda, mi plato favorito es la que comparto en la compañía de mis seres amados.

Hello @linita. Yes, we must keep all family traditions going for the sake of the next generation. All we have learned should be passed on. Sorry to hear about the passing of your father.
