Bienvenidos a mi Blog

Welcome to my blog

Greetings hive friends, today I join this beautiful initiative that promotes @ fmbs25 and is supported by the Family & Friends community, this with the intention of supporting the grandparents of Asilo Santo Domingo; where the idea of this initiative is to talk about that figure that is part of our family.

Before giving my impressions, I want to say that for me a grandfather would be that loving being who consents and makes his grandchildren feel that they receive pure love like that of a mother. I tell you that in my case I did not have the opportunity to know the love of a grandfather; nor by the paternal family; since he had disappeared not even on the maternal side; since not even my mother knew her father.

Tell us about your grandparents, do you have a childhood memory with them, share it with us.

The story I am going to tell you is not about loving grandparents; at least that was my case.
Since I was little I cried with my paternal grandmother, she was a white-skinned lady and her husband was dark-haired; had 7 children within them my father a dark man. The truth is that at that time we were two sisters; I was the second of the two. My grandmother always had a preference for my older sister and defended her from everything; she did not have any gesture of affection with me that I remember; what I do remember is that she used to say that I was my father's darling and that they gave me everything; that made my older sister feel bad. His attitude towards me didn't really affect me; So many years passed and she was very old; In the end, I was the one who treated his injuries since he began to present bedsores that I treated without any resentment; since she was my grandmother and she needed me at that time. I remember he stared at me a lot when he cleaned it. I never knew what her look meant

As for my maternal grandmother; she lived very far from where I live; I remember that I went to see her when I was 12 years old and never came back; since my mother did not have to travel. In this case, she was a lady with a super strong character and she bothered him until they touched the plants she had; She got to the point, due to her advanced age, of pointing out that she was always losing things and that the grandchildren who visited her were the ones who stole her; It was so much so that many walked away without stopping to be aware of her. Thank God he always had a unique temperament; and so he died 100 years

Do you have a favorite grandfather? - Tell us more about him/her, why is/was your favorite?

The truth is, I didn't have any favorite grandparents since my experience with them was not one of transmitting love towards me. But in spite of it I do not carry in my heart discomfort of it; since many times we ignore what they would be living, or how difficult life was for them. I consider this to be a string. If you give love you will receive love. When it's my turn to live this grandmother's experience; I want to be the most pampering grandmother of my grandchildren hahaha.

**Would you put your grandparents in a nursing home? If you would, tell us why? **

My answer is a resounding NO; I have my mother alive and she is already part of the third age; I have always thought that you have to honor your father and mother. Just as they took care of us; so we must repay what they cared about us and took us to where I am.

The homes for many grandparents who do not have family would be a voluntary option to go there and be able to spend their days with more grandparents and thus not feel alone. I tell you that I have had the opportunity to visit the Asilo Santo Domingo since it is in the town where I live; always in my workplace when there are special activities in the municipality they are given a present of food from the school. I always tell my co-workers that it pains me to see how children are capable of abandoning their father there. I do NOT judge anyone and everyone will have their reasons; but we must act from the love of others; That is why I join this initiative and be able to be part of that incentive that can receive asylum and be able to cover some of their needs.

It was a pleasure to be able to participate. I invite @giocondina, @nayromero and @daysiselena to join us and tell us their stories. Here is the link to the contest.

Saludos
