Cuando escuchamos esta palabra, decimos: ¿Libertad a qué? Y se nos viene a la mente: Guerras, batallas, cárcel, cautiverio, etc. Puedo pensar en un Simón Bolívar que libertó varias naciones por medio de batallas, y siempre lo recordaremos agradecidos.

Sobre todo en nuestro país esto es como una palabra con censuras, ¿democracia? ¿libertad?, tantas preguntas que pueden surgir respecto a esos dos temas de esas dos preguntas que hice.

Traje esos 4 conceptos de la Real Academia porque son los más cercanos a nuestros conocimientos o uso popular, hay otros conceptos más, pero me quedaré con estos 4. Pero el primero es bastante importante, porque quizás lo sabemos en nuestros pensamientos, pero a veces usamos ese concepto a nuestra manera. Por ejemplo, he escuchado decir frases como estas: “Yo prefiero quedarme en mí país que irme a otro, porque aquí puedo hacer lo que me dé la gana”, “yo estoy soltera o soltero, porque puedo hacer lo que quiera si rendirle cuenta a nadie”, “en este trabajo me siento libre, porque llego a la hora que quiero, y me voy a la hora que quiero y no me dicen nada con tal que haga mi trabajo”, y así sucesivamente, ahora mi pregunta es: ¿Eso es realmente la libertad? Porque el primer concepto que cité de la Real Academia muchas veces lo usamos a la mitad, o a nuestra conveniencia, escuchando esas frases comunes en una sociedad, pudiéramos decir que hay libertad, pero entre comillas, porque ¿Será que realmente cumplimos lo que dice el final del concepto: “por lo que es responsable de sus actos”? Hacer lo que nos da la gana, no es actuar de manera responsable, de hecho, muchas veces actuar de manera responsable, implica no hacer lo que nos da la gana o lo que queremos, quizás haciendo lo que “nos da la gana”, terminamos actuando por instintos, por un arranque, por un impulso, y muchas veces somos presos de nuestras malas decisiones o acciones irresponsables.

Libertad no es solo eso, libertad es hacer lo correcto, según nuestros valores, sin perder nuestra dignidad humana, muchas veces perdemos el sentido de nuestras vidas y pasamos a ser esclavos dentro de nosotros mismos.

También suele ocurrir, en los padres que no quieren ejercer en el hogar: el amor, el respeto, la autoridad, sino el abuso, el autoritarismo, el irrespeto, y entonces el hogar se convierte en una cárcel para los hijos.

En nuestro país, escuchamos tantas veces sobre “la libertad de expresión”, cada día se ha ido desapareciendo más y más, no sabemos hasta donde llegará esto, pero sin llegar a un tema político me pregunto: ¿Será que lo que buscamos expresar es enriquecedor o son palabras vacías que se las lleva el viento o palabras destructivas, que no ayudan a construir una sociedad? ¿Queremos liberta de expresión? : Entonces luchemos por llevar a nuestra patria mensajes positivos, constructores, llenos de amor, de madurez, de generosidad, de creatividad, que nunca salgan palabras de nuestra boca para maldecir, para desearle mal a los demás, para hablar de otro, sino para bendecir, para aportar
para un cambio, para buscar ser mejor país, sin olvidar que el cambio empieza desde adentro.

La libertad la siembro y la cultivo yo, no esperes que los demás lo hagan, no seas esclavo de ti mismo, ni te dejes esclavizar por nadie, Dios nos dio libertad para que la usemos para el bien y para que seamos felices.
