I go to cool places but always, always, always forget to take pictures. 😂
I used to do this all the time, so I got a camera instead. With a camera, you're more conscious of and deliberate about taking pictures. You never know what wonders you might come across :)

You are right. Getting a camera solely for this purpose makes sense. With phone, I get carried away talking and taking in lovely scenes with my eyes but not with my camera! Ugh. Who does that? Me! 😄
I saw a house with beautiful flowery windows while I was on a boat cruise in India. I thought about taking the picture, but then I decided not to because I thought I would sketch it from memory later. I never did sketch it, and now every time I see a nice window with flowers I regret not having taken the pic in India :)
