How can desserts be so cute?

My hunger has lured me to step into this "fancy" Korean Convenience Store that I have refrain from visiting for many months

Year End Sale is always very tempting

Oh the selection Dosirak (Korean lunch box)
are actually nicer than Family Mart's Bento, but definitely not cheap

The one drink that I have been wanting to try! And it can be found here! Can you guess which one I got?

Finally chose the classic - ROSE TTEOKBOKKI - after unable to get the cheapest Korean food selection (most were sold out)

Hm.... so it is Tteok (Korean rice cake), Leek, very thin Korean fish cake slice, Cabbage, gochujang , and cheese?

These look tempting, but they are just ramen. Maybe I'll just get the ramen and try at home next time.

Taking a sip of "Milkies" and a bite of Rose Tteokbokki, staring out to the heavy rain in deep thoughts while waiting for it to stop

Actually, I never planned to visit this Korean Convenience Store, even though I knew it has been in Malaysia for many months now. I always felt that it's considered a fancy twist, and it definitely won't be cheap; so with already having Family Mart (from Japan) everywhere, I didn't thought of looking into this Korean store... unless it is a special occasion.

And it was, kind of, a Special occasion.

And I needed some comfort food to ease my hunger as it was already late afternoon and the first meal I had was at 11am.

The store itself isn't highly massive like its original in South Korea, but it does have a lot of very interesting things that you don't see often in Malaysia.

Just the tiny dessert "big eyed" cutie cakes was already quite an attraction; but the price itself convinced me ONLY to get it on someone's birthday next time.
pstt.. a little over budget to cure my hunger

I was very much attracted to the rameon section, but to pay an additional 1.50 for the use-once alluminium foil bowl.... I wasn't 100% convince it will curb my hunger in a "balanced diet".

You see, I am trying not to eat only carbs in a meal if I can.

So in between choosing cold Dosirak (Korean lunch box), cold Kimbap (rolled rice), anything not "Laksa" (super spicy), I chose the one cheepest meal that is not sold out: the Rose Tteokbokki, as you can see from the top image, it wasn't huge, but I didn't want a massive full meal since I promised my parents to have dinner with them at home; and I couldn't resist not buying the Milkies that I have been seeing from the Korean Englishman channel in YouTube, so I gave it a try.

Did you figure out which Milkies I bought in the end?

Turns out that the melon version is actually quite nice. I didn't try the blue one; but maybe my next salary I would give that a try. It actually costs 3.5 HIVE though.

But why all the sudden visiting a Korean Convenience Store in the middle of a storm?

And the store itself wasn't close by either.

Actually I was just on my way home after a funeral, and I swung by to the grocer to get some eggs that was sold out near my residence. And while getting additional grocery done, I got stuck in a stormy rain.

And it wasn't a "normal" funeral I attended either

And the storms in the skies spoke the truth. The heavy rain depicted the tears of over a hundred attendees....

Baby Warrior Naomi
Here is baby warrior Naomi

I was one of them who went to send off this tiny little miracle warrior of 9 months and 12 days old, who was abandoned to die in the hospital at birth when the doctors told the parents of her complications... defected heart... and because of a "unique" problem in the family, the mother, without even seeing the child, left her behind to fight for her own fate.

But my church's social community, Lifecare Service, by faith, took her in to our children's home and cared for her....

And she gave them in return the memory of a lifetime.

By seeing the number of kids from the children's home were willing to send her off showed how much she was loved.

The little bundle of joy, whenever my pastor took her to the Sunday service, or leader's group training, we get to see her tiny smile. She never liked noise, as in noisy chatty sounds; but when it comes to praise and worship, the full band never really bothered her, especially when she's in the arms of her favourite godfather pastor Nick...

He held her when little Naomi could barely breathe well, and he had to send her off before him...

20231230_144909.png
There were so many of us to send her off, to the point, we have to split the rose petals and shared among ourselves just to put it in her tiny coffin.

The surgeons, the nurses, the social service volunteers and the sponsors for this once tiny miracle came, just to say goodbye to this fighter they have never seen before.

Baby Naomi has reminded us all one thing crucial: it is not how long you lived, it is how WELL you lived. Making a difference, impact a life, and live to the fullest, even if waking up daily is a miracle. She never fail to smile when she started to learn how to smile. And gave us "her piece of mind" when she sees things are not in the right order (including overly chatty in meetings and not concentrating at lectures - yes, she actually throws a tiny whimper at us when we were whispering at the back of the class instead of listening to lectures during one of the upskill talks - oh... her fierce stare.... pastor Nick had to take care of her and attend the class)

She reminded all of us that we all have a choice to choose how we live. And till the early sunrise this morning, she chose to fight till the end.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8

I must say, this scripture really depicted baby Naomi's journey in her shorten, but full-lived life. She came to this world with no one to love her; but left for Heaven with an army of loving family members of all races and ages. Barely able to utter a full word, she touched more lives than any one of us attended her funeral in 8 months.

Something for all of us to remember.... life is more than .... me.

Good bye for now, little warrior

May the LORD keep me close to Him, so that I get to see you all grown up, healthy, in Heaven one day. Jesus chose to heal you His way. And I am in immence grateful that you do not need to battle anymore.

Until Then

It is sad to see such a young age to have their journey ended, but perhaps it is like you said, her purpose on Earth has been fulfilled, and now she can be in Heaven enjoying with her Jesus. Our deepest condolences.
