A Spoonful of Laughter
We are faced with many challenges as we journey through life; it may be the heartbreaking loss of a loved one through their passing onto a realm beyond, or a relocation thousands of miles away. You may have lost your job, or are faced with having to leave the home that's become your little haven for as long as you can remember.
During times of deep distress, we have to dig deep and awaken that inner strength that has been lying dormant, just waiting to surface and come to the rescue.
I've been doing much digging for the past five weeks, and just when I thought I'd had enough, an impromptu lunch at the home of my brother (who often is away from home in another land, far away,) and my sister-in-law, came to the rescue.

Laughter is the best medicine
Sounds corny I know, but there really is nothing as good for the soul as laughter.
Well, my friend @artywink was in top form, leaving me and the rest of the gals in stitches. She could easily stand in for BBC's Mrs. Brown. By the time she finished telling her tale, with a straight face, mind you, our tummies ached from laughing!
The story was about waxing, and I'll leave it to your imagination; the word has many meanings after all:
Approaching full moon, increasing in size, gushing, raving, budding, and, well, waxing!
I hope not to be unfriended after this blog, but I did not give anything away, did I?
However, a dose of laughter tonic is the best remedy, and I got one this weekend, a good one at that. So, thank you 'Sis-in-law' and @artywink ;)

Right medicine at the time you need it most comes in the form of laughter, leaving the imagination open to interpretation....

I have a smile on my face, so your mirth is contagious! A joyful post, so happy to see that coming from you.
Thanks @owasco...but as you know, the tears come from nowhere again...does it ever get better?
Nope. I can still be floored by grief, and it hits me at odd moments. I was just thinking about this. My son is with me every single moment of my life. I miss him terribly. I'm sorry to have to tell you this. The good news is that, whenever I grieve, he is here with me, it brings him back alive for a few moments, I am certain. xo
I'm so glad your bestie and family are always there for you, nothing beats a dose of laughter to drive away the sorrow
Thank you @livinguktaiwan, I am blessed with the most awesome family & friends. Need more of that medicine again...
Oh my friend, sometimes we have to have a bit of laughter amidst the pain and loss we feel inside of us.
I just love spending time with precious people like you and your siblings who have become mu family too.
As for the DIY "Bikini wax" well all I can say, it was a hell of a "Rip Curl". Haha!! that will teach me next time to read the instructions.
I better stop, or I might be censored,
Love you my friend, see you soon.
Aha, now you've given it away, at least I was not the guilty party in letting this secret out but I'm sure it will give a couple of our friends a good chuckle...you need to share that story here :):)
I had a big downer this week though, need more of that medicine xxx
It's good to laugh and it's good to cry because both things cleanse the soul. depilation never ceases to surprise us, it all depends on where you do it. hahahahahaha
Thanks @carolinacardoza, funny how the tears follow the laughter...@artywink let out the secret, not me hey :):)
You are so right. The heartwrenching moments of life, that is when we are the most open and raw and actually when humour is most felt and valuable. In my deepest moments of grief in my father's passing, family and friends found ways to make me smile and laugh and that is truly what got me through ❤️
What would we do without the support of friends and family not so!
I truly am thankful for everyone in my life, each bringing comfort in different ways - a shoulder to cry on, recalling wonderful memories, and a good old bellylaugh that is such a stress/ grief-reliever.
Glad your friends and family were also there for you xxx
And I just read from @artywink's comment ...
Nuff said!
Oh my word @tengolotodo, it was a helava experience. 😱😀😂
I believe you
Haha @tengolotodo, and she gave it away, not me hey :):) It was a very good story I must say!
Nothing makes me happier than the thought of you having a medicinal laugh!
I send warm wishes to you my friend.
Thank you so much, my friend, it was a good story indeed, very much needed medicine xxx
Genuine laughter is medicine, but many of us encounter fake laughter just to please others @lizelle
Happy to hear you have wonderful people around helping you. And yes, laughter and a thankfull heart is the best medicine from all.
❤️
For sure the very best medicine and a good tonic for the soul, thank you @beeber.
Everything remains in the imagination. Laughter is the best food.
