Caravanning in the Mall!
Hubby and I are making the most of being on our own, so elope at every opportunity we can, which unfortunately is not as often as we'd like, but we are thankful, as we're being kept real busy in our BnB!
Mom Lily lived with us for nearly 20 years, and we mostly included her in all our jaunts, so even though she left us over three months ago to go to her forever home, it still feels like I've left something behind whenever we go out; really a weird feeling!
Earlier that day we had some BnB business to attend to and as it's just down the road from one of our favourite shopping malls, the Pavilion, we took a drive there to have lunch.
Guess what, we actually found a parking bay at the Pensioners' Parking and discovered a vintage caravan in the middle of the mall ;)
Now that it's just the two of us shopping. there are fewer restrictions like we can take the escalator and don't have to wait for the lifts, which are especially busy with shoppers pushing shopping trolleys!
On entering, there's a tailor's shop, for the discerning gentleman; they get to choose their own fabric and design, of course, and naturally go for many fittings till everything is perfect!
We passed the CUM Christian Book Stores, Typo which is a stationery & gift store and Rain which specializes in natural skincare products.
Our last stop before lunchtime was Dischem, a large pharmacy with a vast range of healthcare and beauty products. We needed to replenish the vitamins supplies and get just a handful of healthy treats; traditional South African Rusks, I chose Pecan Nut, and delicious peanut brittle.
Our favourite casual dining spot in the mall is Centre Court, with comfy seating and a good central view of the mall. The mirrored ceiling always fascinates me as everything is upside down when one looks up!
Two cappuccinos coming up, one with a big heart and the other a tiny little heart!
Hubby chose his favourite, a toasted Chicken Mayo sandwich with chips, and my order was a Veg Stir-fry with noodles; way too much so I took a doggy bag home. My friend always says it's for Ron - later-on!
Looking down where they always have something special happening, we spotted a vintage caravan that still looks in good nick, but certainly belongs to a museum and not on the road ;)
A really nice morning and we reminisced about the days we used to go camping, compared to nowadays where many go glamping, with everything set up by the resorts, especially if the gals go with!
We prefer time-share resorts these days, as this old silvery gal simply does not have the energy to pack the whole kitchen sink!
So I hope you enjoyed walking through the Pavilion with me as my contribution to @dswigle's #marketfriday. The lovely Denise told us more about the beautiful Bar Harbour with really stunning photographs! Take a look if you don't want to miss out!

They told me if I killed myself now it would save the lives of countless others.
Saying the longer I wait to kill myself the more people will suffer.
They are reckless and should have shown the proper media what they had before taking me hostage for 5 years. I know there are many in prison that dont deserve to be there because of this. Your stay in prison will not be fun @battleaxe and friends. People are going to want you dead when they find out what you did. I hope you die a slow painful death. You sick mother fuckers.

Its a terrorist act on American soil while some say its not real or Im a mental case. Many know its real. This is an ignored detrimental to humanity domestic and foreign threat. Ask informed soldiers in the American military what their oath is and tell them about the day you asked me why. Nobody has I guess. Maybe someone told ill informed soldiers they cant protect America from military leaders in control with ill intent. How do we protect locked up soldiers from telling the truth?
Aaaaaahhhhh thank you that i could walking with you to Pavilion😃
I miss that place so much. I can remember when i was a teenager me and my brother and our Friend use to take a bus early in the morning and spend there the hole day😄.
Must say in your photos it changed alot.
I didn't know that center court moved to Pavilion. That was also our favorite place at the Suncoast Casino that time.😉
Hi @tigermom, they have changed it quite a bit! Centre Court also has a branch a Ushaka now, doesn't look like it still is at Suncoast.
They have the best seats in town :)
Thanks for popping by!
Oh i miss Durban so much. I wish i could take my son someday, but yeah but it might not be soon. Sleep well my friend xx

There is also a shopping mall by the name of Pavilion in Kuala Lumpur. It is so nice they have parking reserved for pensioners. We have no such privilege here.
We were quite amused the first time we saw it, felt like naughty kids parking there but of course we are pensioners so are eligible😉
Wow! That is some mall! There seems to be no end to it and look at those escalators! Miles and miles of them. I get it. It would feel like you were leaving someone behind when you go out. Old habits are hard to break. Even when my son went to college and I drove him 1306 miles to get there, I cried all the way home, feeling the loss. For a long time, there was an emptiness. So, yes. I do understand what you mean.
The mall has a fun vibe and lunch was a win! And a doubl one at that with the yummy leftovers! I am so sad to see Miss Lily go, even if it was to her forever home sweet home ❤️, by our Father who art in Heaven has tried to soften the blow by giving back escalatores, quiet nights and more free time, a tiny blip, but, I have to believe she is having the time of her life and giving them
hellfuntimes up there!I want to go camping in style!!!! Woo hoo!

Awe Denise, I can just imagine how sad that trip was, that is a long way for sure! But it will take time to get used to that empty space.
LOL, you're so right, I'm sure Mom Lily will certainly be giving them a runaround in her new home, back to her old self😉 She told me she'll be able to walk and be well again in her 'forever home'. She loved walking, was superfit before this thing in her head started playing havoc!
I'm so glad that you 'knew' our Lily of the valley, as you've nailed her character with your wonderful intuitive response💞
