Christmas Wishes
Before the world awakes, I wanted to stop by and wish all my special Hive friends who celebrate Christmas, a very special day.
It will be a very different Christmas for those of us who find ourselves without our loved ones, surreal for some as this day last year was like a faraway dream - I would never ever have thought that would be our last Christmas together.
Losing my darling man has left me reeling, and it's been the most difficult and painful journey, but I have to get on with the job of living.
So, despite the fact that there will be an empty chair at the Christmas table today, the love of friends and family will fill some of the void, if only for a day!
New memories will be made and old ones remembered; he was much loved by everyone, and always made time to have a real chat and encourage those going through difficult times! He was a good listener and the world's biggest empath.
I would normally not have time to sit down at my PC to get close to Hive, and while the WhatsApp messages are coming fast and furious, I found myself drawn to this place where words have become my escape, or rather helps to dilute the pain in a small way.
My wish for all of you today is that you make the most of each moment with your loved ones, savour the chats, and the food of course, and do not let even one minute become a battle of wits, as happens at times.
We only have one chance at life, so let this day be a special one. If you live on your own, make a call to one of your favourite people, put on some music, or watch an old movie, even if you've already seen it half a dozen times.
If you're sharing the day with friends or family, make a point of having a little chat with everyone.
Warm wishes to all of you for a wonderfully blessed day, stoke the fireplace if you live in the cold northern hemisphere, and here in the south, enjoy the fresh air outside in the sun, and when the going gets too hot, find a shady spot underneath a tree, or move inside and turn on those fans or the aircons!
Most of all, live this day, and each day that comes, as if it's your last one!

Merry Christmas to you dear Lizelle! I know it's a very painful one, but as you said, new memories are written now. Time will ease the pain a little, and think of what your husband would say. He wouldn't want you to be sad.

Letting go never easy, last time as a family all in our home this year.
Younger son and wife on the move now in early 2024, wishing them all the best in new positions of employment, finding a home closer for travel distance to make life easier for them. Not too far, we will still see each other.
Older son possible opportunity to return to New Zealand in the new year, after visiting for five months this year seeing options for a future as well.
Constant change is life, life is for living, remembering those no longer with us at the table always sorely missed, time of reflection, slow down to find our way forward once again.

I'm sure your son and his wife must be excited about the move to a new home and job. I hope and pray that your older son finds that position in NZ.
Yes, life constantly changes, and although we eventually adapt or accept it, it's very difficult in the beginning.
Your life will be changing soon with both your sons, and thankfully it's not too far, but even with NZ, it's not out of reach!
My niece and her family moved to Saskatchewan, Canada, and apparently, there are many job vacancies everywhere in that very cold country. She's loving it though!
We had a lovely day with family and friends, and I feel a whole lot better now than I did this morning xxx

Loving this rain after the extreme heat.
Not having a loved one present is difficult, our minds go back continuously, move on we have to.
House filled with family and friends helps on big occasions to pull through, glad you managed.
Happy Christmas Lizzie, I know this will be an extra sad Christmas for you this year, but as you say you have to get on with life, and I'm sure that's what Arthur would want you to do. Have a great day with your family!
Thank you Pauline, it turned into a lovely day, although a little emotional at times, but also a load of fun with the handing out of secret-Santa gifts.
We saw an eagle fly high above the house, and it felt like Arthur was trying to tell us that he's still watching over us, more so now than ever before!

Yes, it was a very special moment that only two of us saw when outside to have a real chat (and shed a few tears) for the first time since Arthur left❤
Lizelle, I am happy you have good support from family and friends to help dilute the pain. I just can't imagine the strength needed to get through this time of remembering.
I wish you a wonderful time in this season and may you feel peace from the love that your people give you, including your Hive friends that all adore you.

Awe thank you for your beautiful words of comfort Carolyn. We had a lovely day with laughter and a couple of tears, and I am truly thankful for my very special family and friends, and special Hive friends like you. It was a big Christmas gift to see you again.

My heartfelt words of condolence friend @lizelle for the loss of your dear man. I have always believed that people don't completely leave your side if you always remember it. This year has been difficult for you, I hope that the coming 2024 will be a reward for the processes overcome this year. Life goes on and you have to continue for those who remain and expect the best from you. I wish you a Happy New Year from the bottom of my heart.
