Seize the Goods!

I was swept away from planet Hive by way too many mishaps in a week that happily ended on a high, but I still needed supplies to keep the pots cooking!

Online shopping and working remotely is one of the good spin-offs of those awful C-lockdowns!

What are the benefits?

  • Saves petrol (gas)
  • Wear and tear on your car
  • No dealing with traffic snarls even if you follow the advice of that woman who lives inside the navigator, leading you astray, but, as if by magic, gets you to your final destination.
Never mind some of the scary neighbourhoods you have to drive through!

This kind of shopping is the best timesaver - I can browse the aisles online at any time of day or night while enjoying a cuppa tea or coffee, don't have to get dolled up, nor fight for a parking bay, pay the car guard who hopefully will keep an eye on my car or it may be gone when I get back.

Best of all, no temptation by snacks that are cleverly placed on shelves in the queue aisles. When the store is busy, many of those temptations end up in my trolley.

Special offers pop up on the App, making it a breeze to compare prices.
On the topic of 'specials,' have you noticed how some 'bulk special offers' work out more pricey than buying a couple of bottles/ boxes in smaller quantities? Admittedly that's not always the case, but often enough to make it worthwhile checking.

Overall it is a big saving, despite the delivery fee.
I however pay a small monthly fee, enabling me to order without any delivery fee.

Deliveries in under an hour is promised

...and they do deliver on that promise unless it's a day before a special public holiday.

The Wrong Order

...popped out of each of those bags last week, just before we were leaving for a blissful weekend away, which I will share with you later this week, but that mistake turned in my favour!

Admittedly, I was miffed as I needed something to make lunch but I had to unpack every bag of groceries and take photos of each bag showing its barcode and contents.

Their client services were excellent though, credited my App account in a short space of time, and then went on to tell me that I could keep the groceries delivered to me in error.
I was mortified as I had not paid for any of that but was told to keep the goods or give them away.
I ended up with bags filled with food that I definitely can use, and free of charge at that! Quite a bonus, but they obviously have no use for goods that could be contaminated by customers having to handle them.

It was a week filled with all kinds of mishaps that kept me AFK, some not too pleasant, but the week ended in the most fabulous mini-holiday up the North Coast of Kwazulu Natal with family and some of my favourite people, wonderful special times I will be sharing before this week is over.

My online mishap reminded me that mistakes sometimes do turn into something good!

Hi @mamani, it certainly turned into a good mistake! I much prefer shopping for food this way, but still prefer choosing my own meat and fresh produce. Online shopping is a great time saver!
