I MADE MIDNIGHT A COLLAR

Just last month, I participated in the pet contest “needlework your pet” and I was so happy to make a collar for my pet. In the post I talked about how I paused crocheting and decided to start next year due to reason best known to me. _{but without beating around the bush, let me go straight to my point}

After I made the collar for my pet, I posted it on my status page on instagram and through that I got few orders: two shrugs, one beach wear and one pet collar. Since I wasn’t planning on crocheting, I postponed the others and decided to accept the pet collar order.

One reason I had to accept is that I knew making the pet collar won’t take much time, he also wanted the same colour and He (the customer) is also my brother’s friend, he has a dog named midnight, I have been with her before so I was pleased to make one for her, I mean how could I resist?

He concluded that he would be taking the order in three days, I had no problem with it since it will only take few hours. I was busy during these days so I decided to do it the evening to the day he is collecting his order.

Before I bore you with my story, let me show you how I made the pet collar, I know I have done it before but I added a little bit of design since midnight is a girl

• I started with a straight line then I continued by adding the other color till I achieved my desired width

In the evening I picked up my wools, only to realize that I can’t find my needle I was so pissed, after a lot of searching the only pin I found was a old and rusty one, I decided to text him and asked if he would still be coming to pick it up tomorrow, maybe I could get a new pin.

Since he didn’t replied, I couldn’t risk not making the order before tomorrow that we agreed on and also I knew the rest of the week will be so busy for me, so I choose to manage the pin. Started late at night and finished in the morning.

• After I was done making the straight line, I decided to add a little edge around it. At one side at one tip , I made a long chain and at the other tip I made a hole. I did the same for the other side, so that, one can lace up and tie it.

Regardless of the old pin I used, I managed to make it neat. I checked my phone and he still hasn’t replied, I concluded that he might be coming to pick it up by evening. Throughout the day and the next day, I kept checking my instagram but he didn’t replied.

I wasn’t really pissed, I was only expecting a notification of his message, I didn’t. Two days later, I checked my instagram and I saw that he had messaged me telling he was coming to collect it, since I didn’t get the message on my notifications on time, I apologized and told him to text me on WhatsApp so I would direct the delivery guy.

• I made a bone shaped crochet, I write on it midnight, I did mini stars and love. I attached it to the main collar and voila!

He didn’t reply my texts after that, for like a week now, my texts are seen and not replied. I didn’t collect any money in advance because he is someone I have kinda known, although, he doesn’t stay close to us. I don’t know how I should feel, I did the crochet overnight just to get ignored. Well, it is what is it, now I am stuck with the pet collar.
