Hello world and fellow Hivers

Another Sunday is here and as I said in my yesterday's post I'm writing these lines from the beach. I'm really grateful that I finally can take some time off and just chill on the beach. Now many of you would think why the f*ck do you write a post from the beach and don't just relax man? Nope, I can assure you that I'm not crazy but I did forget to take my book with me this time and as time passed I wanted to do something fun and @splinterlands came to mind instantly. So now that we clarify all of the irrelevant stuff, let's take a sneak peek at today's post. We are going to review a Wild format battle from my daily grind and we are going to discuss the tactics and the logic I used in an instructive way. For those who don't know, the initiative for this post is the Splinterlands' Social Media Challenge.

If you are familiar with the game please skip the next part, if you are new to Splinterlands, I will make a summary for you! I will try to explain what is this crypto game with a few words!
So if anyone is new here and doesn't know what the game is about let me explain it to you. Splinterlands is a play to earn a game in the NFT world. The game operates in the Hive blockchain and it is a trading game genre! To put it simply it's a card game that whenever you win you earn DEC (basically the crypto-coin of the game), the more you play and you are going up in the ladder, the more rewards you get (such as NFT-cards, etc). If you want to join and take a taste of the game, you can do that for free but if you want to start earning DEC and grind for NFT cards and earn more rewards you must buy the Summoner's Spellbook. I totally recommend starting your journey today and to help you with that we are going to review today one battle for my daily ranked games!

Summoner Selection

Daria Dragonscale is today's summoner and as many of you already have understood this is one of my favorites from the dragon class. This summoner grants +1 Melee damage to all of my monsters and also the opponent plays pretty much the same summoner but for the Fire class. So we should expect a Meele-focused battle.

  • Armored up: All monsters have additional 2 armor in their normal Armor stat.
  • Taking Sides: Neutral Monsters may not be used in this battle

Teams' Formation

Team presentation

  • The first monster I used is Grum Flameblade and this is going to be our main tank for this battle. This is one of my favorite cards and you can clearly see the reason, his ability Void, Void armor, Bloodlust and his stats makes it pretty OP.
  • The second card I used is the Lava Launcher, this monster with his great stats and the ability Close Range can work as an excellent defender and a damage dealer pretty well.
  • My third choice was Goblin Shaman, a solid magic attack monster that has the Weaken ability. Pretty useful card for this situation.
  • The fourth pick was the Tenyii Striker. I like the stats of this card, 2 Attack, 3 Speed and 6 Health are a perfect fit for my team. Also, it has the ability sneak and we are going to try to infiltrate our opponent's backline.
  • My fifth pick was Dhampir Iniltrator, this card has the desirable ability Double Strike. It's our main DPS for this battle in the backline.
  • Last place was taken by Ettin Spearman, another great damage dealer with great stats at level 4. It has the very useful Piercing ability and in this ruleset did some pretty great damage to the opponent.

Grum is overpowered when it kills - the effect of blood lust is really a very powerful ability that cannot be ignored. The only thing I don't like Grum most of the time is its very low speed. It can easily and will miss most of the time. 😁

The most valuable card at first glance in your line-up is Ettin Spearman, it's Piercing ability is very useful in such cases where monsters have armors.

I get your point for Grum, indeed the 1 Speed is pretty low but I believe if it was higher it would be broken OP for sure. Even if he misses, the ability of Void and Void armor make it pretty good against Magic attack formations IMO. Ettin Spearman is indeed a great damage dealer, especially in this lineup! Thanks for your feedback and for coming by!
