Saludos queridas abejitas cinéfilas de #hive hace muchísimo tiempo que no pasaba por acá, pero todo tiene su momento y el momento es ahora jajajaja. Hace rato que quería compartir con ustedes mis opiniones y vivencias cinéfilas, así que me propuse hacer mi tarea compartiéndoles hoy una reseña sobre la serie que estuve viendo la semana pasada, quizás ya muchos de los que me están leyendo la han visto, porque creo que se estrenó hace más de un mes pero, yo tuve la iniciativa de verla solo hace unos días ya que como todo el mundo hablaba de ella pensé que era necesario verla, aun si después terminaba decepcionada ¡Tenía que hacerlo! Y ¡Lo hice! Así que a continuación les compartiré mi reseña u opinión de la célebre serie Wednesday (Merlina) espero puedan disfrutarlo.
Greetings dear #hive movie bees, it's been a long time since I've been here, but everything has its time and the time is now hahahaha. It's been a while since I wanted to share with you my opinions and movie experiences, so I decided to do my homework by sharing with you today a review of the series I was watching last week, maybe many of you who are reading me have already seen it, because I think it was released more than a month ago but, I had the initiative to watch it just a few days ago because as everyone was talking about it I thought it was necessary to see it, even if later I ended up disappointed I had to do it! And I did! So here I will share with you my review or opinion of the famous series Wednesday (Merlina) I hope you can enjoy it.
Okey, debo decir que empecé viendo esta serie con altas expectativas, porque aunque todo el mundo hablaba sobre ello algo de lo que estoy consciente es que la franquicia Addams es un verdadero clásico, y desde muy pequeña he disfrutado sus películas aunque unas las recuerdo más que otras, igual formaron parte de mi infancia puesto que a pesar de ser una niña no era algo que me aterraba y eso estaba bien. Ahora bien, volviendo a la serie en cuestión cuando tuvo lugar el estreno de la misma yo no estaba para nada informada de ello, de hecho me di cuenta de su existencia dada la gran cantidad de contenido que rondaba en las redes sociales sobre la serie y también por los memes (nunca pueden faltar, jajaja) entonces, aunque me parecía que quizás estaban haciendo mucho revuelo por una serie que podría terminar resultando ordinaria no quise dar nada por sentado aún y luego de meditarlo un poco decidí verla, aunque no me gusta ver ninguna película o serie por moda, pero no podía quedarme con la duda.
Okay, I must say that I started watching this series with high expectations, because although everyone was talking about it something I am aware of is that the Addams franchise is a true classic, and since I was a little girl I have enjoyed her movies although some I remember more than others, they were still part of my childhood because even though I was a child it was not something that terrified me and that was okay. Now, going back to the series in question when the premiere of the series took place I was not at all informed about it, in fact I became aware of its existence given the large amount of content that was going around in social networks about the series and also because of the memes (they can never miss, hahaha) so, although it seemed to me that maybe they were making too much fuss about a series that could end up turning out to be ordinary I did not want to take anything for granted yet and after meditating a little I decided to watch it, although I do not like to watch any movie or series for fashion, but I could not stay with the doubt.
La trama
La trama trata básicamente de un miembro la familia Addams específicamente Merlina, quien es la hija mayor de la pareja Addmas, luego de no poder encajar en una escuela regular y por los diversos conflictos en los cuales se encontraba inmersa constantemente, Merlina es expulsada de su antigua escuela y en vista de no ser aceptada en ningún otro lugar, sus padres toman la decisión de inscribirla en el colegio que fue hace muchos años el colegio de ambos. Un centro educativo muy peculiar llamado Nunca Más, un espacio donde personas como Merlina recibían educación, además de otras especies tales como sirenas, lobos, gorgonas, entre otros. A pesar de formar parte de los llamados “Excluidos” dentro de esta institución, Merlina seguía siendo excluida de los grupos debido a su personalidad poco social.
Pero más allá de eso, la protagonista ha de lidiar con unos cuantos asuntos más durante su estadía en la institución Nunca Más, tal como aprender a dominar su habilidad psíquica, descubrir mensajes ocultos en la historia de la escuela y detener algunas tragedias que están por suceder.
The Plot
The plot is basically about a member of the Addams family, specifically Merlina, who is the eldest daughter of the Addams couple, after not being able to fit in a regular school and because of the various conflicts in which she was constantly immersed, Merlina is expelled from her old school and in view of not being accepted anywhere else, her parents decide to enroll her in the school that was many years ago the school of both of them. A very peculiar educational center called Nunca Más, a place where people like Merlina received education, as well as other species such as mermaids, wolves, gorgons, among others. Despite being part of the so-called "Excluded" within this institution, Merlina was still excluded from the groups due to her unsocial personality.
But beyond that, the protagonist has to deal with a few more issues during her stay at the Never Again institution, such as learning to master her psychic ability, discovering hidden messages in the school's history and stopping some tragedies that are about to happen.
Los personajes
Con base en los personajes mi opinión será muy sincera y precisa, y es que siento que hubieron actuaciones muy buenas y otras que estuvieron fatales, debo destacar la actuación de la protagonista Jenna Ortega, porque ella personificó de manera extraordinaria a Merlina su actuación es tan inexpresiva, escalofriante y sombría ¡Justo como lo esperaba! Además no se nota el esfuerzo, se ve natural muy genuino y eso me gusto, porque cada movimiento de la protagonista visualmente te atrapa y es muy placentero mirarla en la pantalla, sin dudas transmite lo que desea transmitir sin problema alguno.
Por otro lado, como les comente también existieron actuaciones sumamente malas a lo que mí respecta, porque las sentí forzadas y también aburridas como fue el caso del personaje de Tyler quien básicamente es el enamorado de Merlina, su actuación la sentí muy forzada además que su participación es tan repetitiva y aburrida que hubiese deseado que no estuviese incluido este personaje en la trama, ya que en el único momento donde se pone emocionante su participación es en los dos últimos capítulos.
El resto de las actuaciones podría decir que fueron aceptables desde mi perspectiva, no se destacaron mucho pero, dado el alto nivel del personaje principal creo que en conjunto funcionaban bien en el desarrollo de la trama.
The Characters
Based on the characters my opinion will be very sincere and accurate, and I feel that there were very good performances and others that were fatal, I must highlight the performance of the protagonist Jenna Ortega, because she personified Merlina in an extraordinary way, her performance is so inexpressive, creepy and gloomy, just as I expected! Also you don't notice the effort, it looks natural, very genuine and I liked that, because every movement of the protagonist visually catches you and it's very pleasant to watch her on the screen, without a doubt she transmits what she wants to transmit without any problem.
On the other hand, as I said, there were also very bad performances as far as I am concerned, because I felt them forced and also boring as was the case of Tyler's character who is basically Merlina's lover, his performance felt very forced and his participation is so repetitive and boring that I would have wished that this character was not included in the plot, since the only time where his participation gets exciting is in the last two chapters.
The rest of the performances I could say that they were acceptable from my perspective, they did not stand out much but, given the high level of the main character I think that as a whole they worked well in the development of the plot.
Escenografía
En cuanto a la escenografía de la serie en sí misma, debo puntualizar que estuvo muy acertada, mantuvo el clásico toque sombrío que define a la familia Addams y se preocuparon por los detalles a mi parecer, escalofriante pero no tan fantasiosa como otras historias, me atrevería a decir que tuvo su toque de realismo pese al género de ficción sobrenatural que esta engloba.
Scenography
As for the scenography of the series itself, I must point out that it was very accurate, it kept the classic dark touch that defines the Addams family and they cared about the details in my opinion, creepy but not as fantastical as other stories, I would dare to say that it had a touch of realism despite the supernatural fiction genre that it encompasses.
Mi opinión y valoración final
Esperaba un poco más de esta serie, pero creo que me dejé influenciar por su alta popularidad previo a su estreno, sin embargo, no considero que sea mala porque me logró enganchar y en tal solo 3 días me vi los 8 capítulos. La historia es entretenida, un poco cliché como la gran mayoría de las series en la actualidad pero no tan tradicional y eso me gustó, porque se enfoca en los misterios que los acechan y no principalmente en dramas personales, así que para mí eso es un punto.
No es una trama que de miedo pero si te hace sentir un poco de suspenso, te mantienes con el interés de saber que va a pasar después pero, en algunos momentos puede llegar a ser un tanto predecible si eres de las personas que pone atención a los detalles (como yo) pero, es una trama disfrutable teniendo en cuenta que existen peores.
Yo le daría una puntuación de 9 de 10 a esta serie, creo que si se confirmara una segunda temporada yo sería muy capaz de mirarla sin problemas, también la recomiendo a todos ustedes por si no tienen en mente algo específico para mirar, creo que esta serie les servirá de mucha ayuda en ese caso.
My opinion and final evaluation
I expected a little more from this series, but I think I was influenced by its high popularity prior to its premiere, however, I do not consider it bad because it managed to hook me and in just 3 days I watched the 8 chapters. The story is entertaining, a bit cliché like most series nowadays but not so traditional and I liked that, because it focuses on the mysteries that haunt them and not mainly on personal dramas, so for me that's a point.
It's not a scary plot but it does make you feel a bit suspenseful, it keeps you interested to know what's going to happen next but, in some moments it can be a bit predictable if you are one of those people who pay attention to details (like me) but, it's an enjoyable plot considering that there are worse ones.
I would give this series a score of 9 out of 10, I think that if a second season was confirmed I would be very capable of watching it without problems, I also recommend it to all of you in case you don't have in mind something specific to watch, I think this series will be very helpful in that case.

No he visto esta serie pero me he dado cuenta que es muy popular, muchos hivers han reseñado la serie pero no los he leído a todos. Según lo que describes es una historia para adolescentes con algo de suspenso.

Saludos amiga, exactamente es una serie para adolescentes con algo de suspenso. Sin embargo tiene el poder de enganchar tanto a jóvenes como a adultos, aparentemente lo que atrae más es el hecho de estar inspirada en un clásico del cine, cómo lo es la familia Addams. 🤔

Vi la serie y como tu me quedé esperando más, así que no la terminé,pero me gusta mucho la protagonista ya que hizo un gran papel y los personajes muy buenos un poco de lo que uno viene acostumbrado en las otras películas. Buena reseña

Hola @lolysacc así como mencionas es una serie muy popular eso quizás influencie en nuestras expectativas, me falta un par de capítulos por ver pero tiene oscuridad dentro de ese estilo de drama adolescente que hace que sea interesante y misterioso. Yo esperaba que fuese un fracaso antes de su estreno pero al menos pienso que no es pérdida de tiempo, me parece buena.
Por otro lado, las fuentes de las imágenes están incorrectas, se debe colocar el link de la pagina de donde se extrajo la imagen no a una ventana de Google.

Saludos mi querido @joheredia21 ☺️ te animo a que termines de verla, ya que como dije no es tan mala después de todo, espero pronto la concluyas. A mi también me atrapó su toque sombrío pero los clichés siguen estando presentes como en todo drama adolescente.

Wednesday starts off kind of disappointing and confusing but eventually I was surprisingly hooked. It's not like the plot is so good but I guess the mystery just makes you want more. You are right that it is not as scary as a person would expect from a movie made about the Addams' universe. The scripting was also not great and the characters' interactions was kind of cringe. The protagonist was good though so that's a plus.
Well, the first season of Wednesday turned out to be more of a success than I expected and even survived the critics. Let's wait and see what more awaits us in Nevermore.
You're right my friend, it has its details but it manages to catch the viewer and that's a plus. In fact it got good reviews from the critics, which I didn't expect either but it seems that many liked it, hahaha.
