Marketing Update 32

I havent done an update in a few weeks so I wanted to cover some things that have been going on.

Currently there is about half of the 65 000 HBD I received from the DHF still available for marketing spending. I decided to reduce the speed at which I spend those funds and look to supplement work of others as well as search for bigger opportunities.

  • Ive received a proposal for Hive social media account promotion for our Facebook and Instagram that will facilitate growth. from one of our community members. Ive set aside 5000 USD for that. More info on that will be presented in the coming weeks.

  • Ive set aside some funds that will cover the external promotion of Hivefest that was done by @roelandp and will cover the ad expenditure of up to 3000 USD. Hivefest was in my opinion a great success with over 1000 visitors, many of them non hivers. Ive had the opportunity to talk to a number of them in the landing area, discuss what Hive is, what wer trying to achieve and there have been others like Blocktrades talking to such individuals whose conversations I was listening into.
The comprehension of potential new users of the tech was quite eye opening. As good as the presentations were, understanding those that we want to attract, the general public, was far more revealing of the path that we need to take than listening into the info we are already familiar with.
Our willingness to listen should be as high, or higher than our willingness to share.

  • Tomorrow, @starkerz and @theycallmedan will finally be guests on Charlie Shrems podcast Untold Stories after a few delays and date changes. That video will be shared, id assume on their blogs, but ill for sure have it shared on twitter on my account and possibly on the Hive.io twitter account.

  • Recently we have been talking to the Scorum team. That partnership shows the recognition of external projects of what wer trying to build here. My hope is that the Hive community will accept Scorum with open arms and that successful integration will showcase Hive as a platform to be on.

  • We have also signed on a publication with a "decent to good" DA, whose articles are often picked up by Coinmarketcap and others for a 10 article deal over the next 5 months where Hive will be covered in various ways.
I am currently working to find more deals like this. I cannot disclose the amount but we got a good deal.

  • On the behind the scenes work thats most difficult, theres a lot of emails being sent out, people talked to but that stuff takes time. As long as we continue to grow, those discussions will become easier.

This is what Hive is lacking. Because its not a "New Crypto" not as much FOMO. And there is no centralised figurehead to tackle the media.

Fingers crossed it works out

Stuff like that is huge, any way for coindesk to also pick it up and or cointelegraph? Those are pretty big ones too :)

Unfortunately no. Coindesk charges 13 000 USD and COintelegraph 10 000 USD per article. That is way too much for the limited budget I have.

wow! What a scam they got going on there, insane. No wonder some of these shitcoins do so well, have to bribe coindesk!

Sorry for missing Hivefest; nevertheless, future joint efforts will improve and open up the community. That's a great thing.

Out of interest, is there data that shows the marketing spend plotted against key performance metrics for hive? Has it been possible to measure any kind of effects on signups or investment that sync up with marketing activities?

Its impossible to measure a correlation between price and investment with marketing efforts. There have been pumps happening just a few hours, for example, after teh Brave ads went live. But I cant be sure if thats the reason because I cant track activity on Upbit, Binance, etc.

What we were able to track was clickthroughs on the linktree, Brave ad data i shared before, signups during facebook ads which came to around 3000-4000 because I could track the funnel.

Theres hundreds of factors affecting Hive price on a continual basis so its really hard to say what affected what.

The ultimate question should be: "Do more people learn about Hive now that we have marketing then before."

The answer is, absolutely yes.
