Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Battle Challenge! (Stampede)
I love the idea that the Weekly Battle Challenge changed instead of featuring a monster to represent a ruleset. It is so good to do something different than usual and I hope they will continually do this in the future. The best way would be to mix these challenges, so every week would be more interesting.
This week we need to show a ruleset, which is the Stampede and the way I used it to my (dis)advantage in the Battle I played. 😇
My only problem with this new system is that it is very difficult to do battles with the specific ruleset featured for the week challenge, because it is random what you are going to get and even if you have that ruleset you need to win it somehow, which is not always easy. 😏
Trample will retrigger infinitely as long as the trampling unit keeps killing other units. | ||
Prime use case for Summoner is Possibilus the Wise. |
This ruleset requires a careful planning, because if you want to take advantage of this ruleset you need to make sure that you are using a monster who owns the Trample ability! Without that ability this ruleset is pretty useless, so you can easily ignore it, but if you have a monster with that ability it might easily change the outcome of the battle. 😁
The Trample ability is already very strong on its own, but boosted up with the Stampede makes it absolutely amazing.
These are all the current Trample capable monsters in the whole game and if you look close enough you can see that there is a Summoner is hiding between them and that is Possibilus the Wise, which means that he will give the Trample ability to all of his monsters, so if anyone of them will kill an enemy monster they will perform another attack on their next monster as long as it kills an enemy monster thanks to the Stampede ruleset! 🤗
Ruleset | Description | |
---|---|---|
Lost Magic | Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles. | |
Stampede | The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed. | |
Earthquake | Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round. |
The mana cap was 59, which was more than enough for me to try to think and setup a good team trying advantage of the Stampede ruleset and also take it into account that all the non-flying units will take 2 damage at the end of every round.
It is a huge help that all the Magic attack monsters are banned from this battle, which is a nice relief, because I can use our Armor buff to give some protection against the enemy Melee and Ranged attacks. 😊
Kelya Frendul
Kelya is one of the best summoner in the Water deck and he is easily in the top 3 amongst the other Splinter summoners in the modern format. He gives +1 Speed and +1 Armor to all of his friendly monsters, which is amazing. The Speed buff allows his monsters not just to hit first in the battle, but also to dodge more Melee and Ranged attacks. 😁
Diemonshark
The Diemonshark is not the thoughest, but one of the quickest and strongest tank in Splinterlands. His most important ability is his Speed and Damage, which is further boosted if he will be damaged, because he will increase this huge Speed and damage further thanks to his Enrage ability.
The Trample ability is also amazing, because it means when this monster hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next monster on the enemy team, so basically he will get a free extra attack in that round and if he manages to kill his target next target as well he will do his attack infinitely.
The only problem playing with the Diemonshark is when he is facing against a magic attack creatures, because he don't have any damage mitigation against this type of attack and the armor is completely useless against it. Luckily all the Magic attack monsters are banned, so he is quite safe in this battle. 😇
Arkemis the Bear
I have used Arkemis the Bear as a secondary tank in case my Diemonshark dies and this monster has a lot of Health and Armor to protect his squishy team members against any incoming damage.
He has the Protection ability, which gives +2 Armor to all of his friendly monsters and with the Armor from Kelya that makes it +3 to everyone! 😋
The Halving ability is the same as the Halfling Alchemist has, which means that if he hit s his target he will halves the target damage for the rest of the battle.
I have a very strong damage dealer in my team, which is the Axemaster and he need a lot of protection to do his thing. That is why I have brought Baakjira to further protect him in my backline as long as my opponent is not going to bring any Sneak or Opportunty monster to pick him up from there. 😅
Baakjira has a lot of Health, Mass Slow and Strengthen ability, which will increase the Health to all of the friendly monsters by one. His most important ability is the Heal, so he will be able to heal himself up in every round. 😊
The Deeplurker annoys me a lot especially when my opponent bring into the battle as well. The reason for that is the fact of the poison trigger rate. It triggers randomly with a 50% chance, which is annoying, because if my opponent triggers the poison more than me than I do not have too much chance for the win. This monster has good Speed as usual from a Water monster and the +4 melee attack damage is monstrous.
He also has the Opportunity ability, which makes this monster to attack from any position and will target the enemy monster with the lowest Health. 😊
The Axemaster is an amazing damage dealer in the Water Splinter. His Double Srike ability enables him to attack twice in every round and deal 2 x 3 damage on Level 3, which is a lot of damage to destroy any kind of threat front of him. He has quite a high Speed, which will support him well to secure a hit on his enemies. The only drawback of him is his weak defense, so better to include something to protect him.
I always try to include him into my teams and without him the Water Splinter would not be as powerful as it is now. 😆
The Swamp Spitter is one of the new reward card and everyone can still acquire them from the daily and season end loot chests. He has a lot of Ranged damage, which si amazing, but he has an amazing ability as well, which is the Repair.
This ability will restores some armor to one of his friendly monster whose Armor has taken the most damage in every round. 😎
My opponent also brought Kelya for this battle, but with a bit different setup, so it will be interesting to see who will prevail over each other. 😏
In the first round my team had to attack his Coeurl Lurker, because that monster had the Taunt ability and it is always quite difficult to hit him, because this monster has a lot of Speed and Dodge, which means he has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks.
Luckily my Deeplurker managed to hit his Lurker and even Poisoned him, so with the Earthquake ruleset he died at the end of the first round. 😊
The second round started badly, because I lost my Diemonshark and he became Enraged, which made him very resilient against our attacks thanks to his huge amount of Speed.
The extra Armor from my Arkemis was very helpful, because the Earthquake damage continously damaged all the monsters on the battlefield without Flying, so this extra Armor saved many of my monsters.
The third round was the turning point, because my Swamp Spitter finally hit his Diemonshark, so their backline became wide open for my team. 😁
In the following round it was much easier to kill their monsters and he didn't really have the damage to kill my Baakjira, so in the meantime my damage dealers killed the rest of his team. 😇
