Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Battle Challenge! (Earthquake)

image.png

I love the idea that the Weekly Battle Challenge changed instead of featuring a monster to represent a ruleset. It is so good to do something different than usual and I hope they will continually do this in the future. The best way would be to mix these challenges, so every week would be more interesting.

This week we need to show a ruleset, which is the Earthquake and the way I used it to my (dis)advantage in the Battle I played. 😇

My only problem with this new system is that it is very difficult to do battles with the specific ruleset featured for the week challenge, because it is random what you are going to get and even if you have that ruleset you need to win it somehow, which is not always easy. 😏

This ruleset is is one of the good ones that I like, because it is quite easy to counter and it is easy to use different kind of strategies when I create the lineup. The main idea for this ruleset that all the monsters who can not fly will take two damageat the end of every round.

It is important to use monsters with high Health and/or Armor or just use monsters with the Flying ability to counter it. 🤞

RulesetDescription
EarthquakeNon-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
Tis but ScratchesAll monsters have the Cripple ability.

The mana cap is 48, which is more than enough to pick the monsters I like and to build the perfect lineup for this rulesets without the Life and Death Splinters.

The Tis but Scratches ruleset is not that strong, but if you would like to bring some Healer monsters this ruleset will make their life a bit more difficult, because whenever a monster hit another their maximum Health will be reduced by one permanently for the rest of the battle. 😇

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
Quix the Devious

image.png

Quix the Devious is always my first pick when it comes to choose monsters for the Earthquake ruleset, because he has a lot of Dragons at their disposal and usually the Dragons are able to Fly, so they will counter this ruleset easily.

Other than that Quix is able to reduce all the Ranged attack damage and Speed for the enemy monsters. 😜

Main 'Speedy' Tank
Diemonshark
image.png

The Diemonshark is a Water monster and such he is unable to Fly, but he has a lot of Armor and Health, which will take some time for the enemy monsters and for the Earthquake ruleset to reduce it to zero.

He has a lot of Speed, which will makes him to attack first and if he takes some damage he will be able to activate his Enrage to boost up his stats by 50% for the rest of the battle. 👍

Blaster Damage Dealer

Chaos Dragon
image.png

The Chaos Dragon is the main reason I picked the Dragon Splinter, because he has a lot of Health and damage with the Blast ability, but more importantly he is able to Fly to counter the Earthquake ruleset completely. 🤗

The Martyr
Vruz
image.png

I used Vruz in this fight not to damage the enemy monsters, but to make him die quick and activate his Martyr ability, which will inrease all the stats on the monsters next to him. 😋

diablo_divider_no1_dragon.png

'Life Leecher' Damage Dealer
Runemancer Kye
image.png

The Runemancer Kye cost 11 mana, which is a lot, but she borned for this ruleset, becasue first of all she is able to Fly and secondly she has the Life Leech ability, which means that she is able to steal some Health from her target and to increase her maximum Health with that.

The amount of life stolen from the enemy monsters are proportional and it will be always half of the damage she makes. 😎

The Weapon Trainer

Daarg Deadblast
image.png

Daarg Deablast is one of the new Rebellion monster and he is quite popular between the players hence his price is in the sky right now. He cost 7 mana and has two Magic attack damage, which is not so good, but he will activate his Weapon Training ability at the start of the battle to give his own Magic attack to any neighbourgh monsters who doesn't have any attack.

He also has the Triage ability as well, which means that he will be able to heal one of his backline monster and the Swiftness will also increase the Speed of all of his friendly monsters. 🤭

Weapon Trainee

Daigendark Surveyor
image.png

The Daigendark Surveyor cost only 2 mana and he doesn't have any attack by herself, so she will be the perfect candidate as an apprentice for the Weapon Training Daarg Deadblast.

She will receive +2 Magic damage from him and she also has the Magic Reflect and the Slow ability to reduce the Speed of all the enemy monsters at once. 😆

My opponent brought Thaddius Brood who is a Death summoner and his ability is to decrease the Magic and Health of all the enemy monsters by one and he picked three monsters who is able to Fly to coutner the Earthquake ruleset. 🤯

My team suffered a lot against Thaddius, because I used three plus one Magic attack monsters and their damage was heavily debuffed throughout the battle.

In the first round I almost lost my Diemonshark against the enemy Magic attacks, but luckily his Speed difference saved him at least from their Melee attacks. My Vruz died at the end of the round against the Earthquake and his Martyr ability increased the stats of my Runemancer and Chaos Dragon. 🤫

In the second round my Diemonshark attacked first thanks to his Speed difference and he killed his target than he used his Trample ability to immidiately attack again to deal a lot of damage against their second monster in line. At the end of the round my opponent lost one of his monster against the Earthquake and all of his monsters were heavily damage already thanks to my Blast ability on the Chaos Dragon.

The third round started killing his Riftwing and luckily the Earthquake killed his Lyra as well and only one monster left on his battlefield.

My monsters were way quicker than his last monster, so they were able to eliminate him before he could use his last attack and my team managed to secure the win for me. 💪
