Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Battle Challenge! (Born Again)

I love the idea that the Weekly Battle Challenge changed instead of featuring a monster to represent a ruleset. It is so good to do something different than usual and I hope they will continually do this in the future. The best way would be to mix these challenges, so every week would be more interesting.

This week we need to show a ruleset, which is the Born Again and the way I used it to my (dis)advantage in the Battle I played. 😇

My only problem with this new system is that it is very difficult to do battles with the specific ruleset featured for the week challenge, because it is random what you are going to get and even if you have that ruleset you need to win it somehow, which is not always easy. 😏

This ruleset is one of the new ones and it is quite an interesting one, because it allows all the monsters on the battlefield to resurrect themselves once. This will create a much longer battle than usual and it could create nice combinations.

The Martyr ability is a very powerful ability on its own, but with this ruleset it makes a truly amazing one, because whenever a monster with the Martyr ability dies it will increase the stats of his adjacent monsters. This ability will trigger at least twice when he is resurrected back and if a monster has the Rebirth ability, this will scale up easily. 💪

RulesetDescription
Born AgainAll units receive the Rebirth ability which allows them to self resurrect once.
Reverse SpeedMonsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.

The mana cap was 39 and only the Water Splinter was banned from this battle. The Born Again is an amazing ability and the only thing left to take it into account is the Reverse Speed, so it is important to choose monsters with very low Speed, so they will attack frist and dodge the most in the battle. 😆

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
Immortalis

Immortalis is an Earth Splinter! He is a fantastic Summoner as he only requires 6 mana and bestows three abilities on each of his monsters. The first is to take one point off each hostile monster's Health. The second is to equip his creatures with the Void ability, which will essentially reduce all incoming Magic damage that is aimed at them. The third is the Shatter, which implies that if a friendly monster hits a target and causes damage, he will eliminate all of the Armor that is still on them. 😜

Main Tank
Terraceous Hulk

The Terraceous Hulk is a very very slow tank, which comes handy in the Reverse Speed ruleset! His cost is 11 mana, which is a lot, but he has the Void Armor and Taunt ability, so he is not going to let through any monster targeting my backline. 😇

First Healer

Goblin Psychic

The Goblin Psychic is one of my healer for this battle, because my Hulk would need all the help he can get from his teammates. The Psychic also has the Affliction ability as well, which means that he will switch off the heal capability on his target. 🤩

Second Healer

Satha Toledo

Satha Toledo is my second healer and she is part of the new Rebellion card set and such it is quite powerful. The Healing abilities are amazing as long as my opponent doesn't have monsters with the Affliction ability, such as my Goblin Psychic or Doctor Blight. 🤗

Main Damage Dealer

Uloth Dhampir

The Uloth Dhampir cost quite a lot of mana, which is 9, but he is well worth its cost. Usually his Speed is not so good, but in this battle and rulesets he is absolutely amazing. He has two Speed, which will makes him quite fast and his 4 Ranged attack damage is enough to kill a lot of monsters. 🤫

Silencer

Lurking Puffer

The Lurking Puffer is part of the new Rebellion set as well. He doesn't have any attack on its own, but he cost only 2 mana, which makes him to fit into any kind of team. His best ability is his Silence, which means that he will decrease the Magic attack of all the enemy monsters by one. This is especially good against the Earth and Death Splinters, where Obsidian is able to create monsters with huge amount of Magic attack. 😋

Backline Protecter?

Fungus Fiend

Usually I use the Fungus Fiend as my backline protector against one or two Sneak attacks, but in this battle he is pretty useless, because my Hulk will soak all the damage from the enemy monsters. 😜

My opponent brought Tarsa from the Fire Splinter and her ability is to increase the Melee attack damage and Health of all of her monsters. 😉

Even thought my Hulk was pretty solid the Taunt ability made the enemy team to focus only him and in the second round he died, but was reborned again thanks to the Born Again ruleset and got some nice heals on top of that!

The Reverse Speed helped a lot for my team, becaue my team had a very low Speed on average, so they ere able to kill their Grum before his turn and even thought he was resurrected he skipped his turn and my team killed him once again! 😜

The Void Armor helped a lot for my Hulk to protect himself against their Magic damage and in the round four my team managed to kill their Radiated Brute as well. 🤯

My team was still fully intact thanks to my Hulk and the two support in my backline who was healing him continously. 🤗

As soon as my opponent lost his Grum he didn't have enough damage on the battlefield to kill him again and his low Speed helped him a lot to attack first and evade some incoming attacks. 💪

Hey bro,

A wonderful battle with a big tank, Satha Toledo is amazing with Tank heal, I want to rent it but she is very costly at the moment. Lurking Puffer Level 5 with Silence really makes magic units unusable.

Hello my friend,

I was surprised how good Hulk was and even the combination of the two healer as well! Luckily my opponent didn't bring Affliction, so I won the game! 😁

BRo, You can remove Affliction with Cleanse.

That is true, but not too much monsters has it in lower leagues! 😁

Plus you need to remove it after they put it on otherwise still no heal for the monster with the affliction! 😅
