Lore
Grund has spent his entire life in the lowlands of Praetoria and has grown to love the land and its people. First introduced to the lore of battle as a hatchling, he has studied it ever since with enthusiasm. When he became a juvenile his hands found steel, an old rusting sword abandoned and forgotten in the swamp by some intrepid explorer. Before long it became an extension of himself as he applied all he had learnt, quickly mastering blade work. From then on, he became obsessed with the art of armed combat and he practised with any weapons he could get his hands on.
When he first met Bera Dallin in New Everitt he couldn’t help but marvel at her martial prowess. After having spent some time with her he became proficient in the use of the warhammer. His great strength meant that he could hold one in a single hand and so it wasn’t long before he acquired another and began to dual wield them in combat.
Grund is well loved amongst the people of Praetoria and he is a staunch defender of them, his strong ideals of honour and justice infused within in from a young age. When he heard of the Chaos Legion invasion, Grund took up his hammers in anger and sought them out immediately.
Overview
The battle challenge for this week is with Grund and he belongs into the Earth Splinter. He is a very powerful monster who can hit his target big time, but you need to be cautious how to use him, because he doesn't have any protection ability only his high health.
Stats and abilities

Grund is one of the few monster in this game who's damage output is very high. From Level 4 onwards if he kills an enemy monster he will be able to attack one more time, which will makes his total attack per round to three multiplied with his damage of 4 (without any buff) to a total 12 melee damage per round. 😱
It is very difficult to mitigate that and the only counter if you pick a tank with Shield, Flying or Dodge abilites to try to evade his attacks.
Market price of Grund in the last 3 month!
If you are going to burn and delete from the existence this EPIC card, it will yield 100 DEC if it is a regular card and 2,500 DEC if it was a gold card. Only one of the gold cards were burned until today!
Grund is an EPIC card and such his BCX is quite expensive and you need 46 of the mto create a maximum leveled monster.
This card is an LEGENDARY card and it is part of the Chaos Legion set. One BCX of this card cost around 1,34 USD, so if you want a maximum level of this monster it will set you back with around 48,24 USD, which is a bit high for me. 😏
His price is on a downtrend, but he is still worth a lot thanks for being an EPIC card. 😉

The mana cap of this battle was 99, which is my favorite, because I can use anything I want and prepare my team the way I want. The previous season finished and with that update new rulesets and abilities came into the game and from now on in Gold League there a maximum of three ruleset in a game, which gave much more diversity using different tactics. 😎
My lineup
 | The Obsidian is my favorite summoner in the Earth Splinter, because she gives +1 magic attack damage to all of her friendly monsters. The magic attack is the strongest type of attack in this game, because it will ignore the enemy armor completely. 😉 |
| Grund is a Double Strikeer, which means that he will attack twice in every round capable of dealing a lot of damage. The only important thing in order to use him effectively is that you need to protect him in some way, because he doesn't have any protective ability. 😅 |  |
 | I used the Pelacor Mercenary as an off-tank in this fight even though he is not doing anything apart from soaking damage and healing himself up. Grund is not that strong as a tank and I needed something to replace him if he dies too quickly. 😊 |
| The Uloth Dhampir is a nine mana cost ranged attack creature and his most important ability is Triage, so he will be able to heal my Slipspawn at the back of my backline. His Stun is also valuable, because with the Scattershot ability he is able to switch off one of the enemy monster randomly. 😁 |  |
 | The Mitica Headhunter is a very popular choice in the Earth Splinter and that is why he is usually very expensive to rent. He has 5 ranged attack damage combined with 5 speed, which is amazing to quickly damage down any monster. |
| Kron The Undying is one of the most reliable monster in the game thanks to his Last Stand and Heal abilities. The only way to defeat him is if you know that your opponent will bring him and you prepare against him. He is quite useful even in low mana cap battles, but he hates the Magic Reflect monsters. 😅 |  |
 | I used the Mycelic Slipspawn only for one reason and it is not his damage even though it is quite good as well. Instead I wanted to take advantage of his Taunt ability, which means that all the enemy monsters (except the tank and off-tank with Reach) will target him. The Forcefield is also a nice addition, because if an enemy monster has more attack damage than 5 they will damage 1 only against the Slipsapwn. 😇 |
The Battle
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
When I saw the 99 mana cap I knew already what I am going to choose, because the Earth Splinter has a lot of high mana cost creature and they are all amazing. My strategy was to direct my opponent main damage into my Mycelic Slipspawn and try to heal him a little bit (with his Triage) and in the meantime deal as much damage as possible using my huge damage output monsters.
The only mistake that I made that I forgot to take into account that the Aimless ruleset will overwrite the Taunt ability, so it didn't worked at all. 😞
My team setup worked perfectly even though the luck 🍀 was not on my side at all, so if I could win this battle without it it means that this setup is amazingly strong. 🙏
Battle Result
In the first round the Lava Launcher stunned my Uloth Dhampir and it was very unlucky for me, because it meant that he is not capable to deal damage, stun or heal. 😣 When the second round started this unluckiness continued, because two of his monster survived my attacks with only one health left!
My Kron almost died against his Djinn Inferni, because he has the Giant Killer ability. 😜 The only "luck" I had is that my Grund had only one health left from the previous round and he was faster than his Grum, so he was able to execute him and take advantage of his Trample ability and attack one more time agianst his Radiated Brute this only one move opened his team so wide that I was able to secure the win through it.
After his tank died along with my Grund his backline started to fell into the tank position and I was able to kill them one by one. 😎

Grund is an amazing and very strong monster, even though he has a lot of health he doesn't have any protective ability, such as Shield or Heal, so the only way to use him effectively is to protect him with your other monsters. 😊
