Dax knew nothing but a life of luxury since the time he was born. Growing up in a mansion overflowing with the finest of items, his wealthy parents were business and landowners that dominated the competition in the city of Lyveria. Their business was called Paragon Enterprises. An only child, Dax was often left to his own devices as his parents ran their enterprise. Often it felt like the entire mansion was his to do with as he pleased.

When he became old enough, Dax was given his large inheritance to begin his own sect of his family's business, which he called Dax's Consultations. He would be called upon by the wealthy, the greedy, and the powerful to consult for them. He would analyze their business practices, their competition, and provide advice. He became renowned for his success, and was thought of as the “secret ingredient” to any tycoon's business. And because of this, Dax soon became immersed in a world of spoils. He lived a fast life of luxury, of gold, and of stabbing anyone in the back that tried to cross him. Often literally.

When the Chaos Legion turned their eye on Dax, he looked right back and was intrigued. He saw new power that he hadn't yet known. He communicated with their intermediaries until the day the Chaos Legion invaded the Splinterlands. Dax was then graced with an audience before Silus of the Rift himself. During this conversation, Dax proved himself well-informed, cunning, and ambitious. He was given the opportunity to be an advisor for the most powerful person he'd ever come across. Dax now serves closely at Silus' side, advising him on strategies to control the Splinterlands.

Dax Paragon belongs into the Life Splinter and became a very popular Splinter for me recently. They have so many good monsters that it is very hard to ignore this Splinter. There are some rulesets, such as Earthquake where they do not have any competition, because most of their creatures are able to Fly.

I used to play a lot of Life decks, back in the time when Lorna was affordable, but theses days I switched it to General Sloan who is much cheaper to rent and goes very well with the Ranged monsters in his deck. One of the best Ranged attack creatures are resides are belongs to Life. 😇

This week's battle challenge features Dax Paragon, so let's see his stats and abilities on all levels. 😁

Dax Paragon is a LIFE EPIC monster and luckily he is not that expensive to rent and he cost only 2 mana, so he is an easy fit into any team setup. He is a Magic attack creature, which means that he will ignore the enemy monster Armor completely.

He has only one Magic attack until his final Level of six. The most important use of this monster is his abilities. The first ability he gets on Level 2 are the Amplify, which will increase the Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1. This is a very good combination with some of the Life monsters, such as the Pelacor Conjurer or Blinding Reflect. 😇

On Level 5 he will get the Affliction ability, which means when a monster with Affliction hits a target, it has a chance of applying Affliction on the target causing it to be unable to be healed. This is an amazing ability to remove any monsters out of his way with the healing capability. Unforunately this is a gigh levelled ability, which means it is only playable in Diamond or Champion leagues. 😏

RulesetDescription
Explosive WeaponryAll Monsters have the Blast ability.
Spreading FuryAll Monsters have the Enrage ability.
Aim TrueMelee and Ranged attacks always hit their target.

The mana cap was 34, which is not a lot to use all the monsters that I want, but with the new update of three rulesets makes every battle a bit more tactical and interesting.

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
General Sloan

image.png

General Sloan is an amazing summoner if you can protect his monsters from the enemy fire, because Sloan gives only +1 Ranged attack to all of his monsters. Luckily the Life monsters has got a lot of protection ability and high Health creatures. 😉

The tactic playing with this summoner is to hit the enemy first and strong, so you can not get the same or more amount of damage back from them. This summoner is quite cheap on the market, but his monsters not so much, so you need to make sure you hire the right ones for the battle. 😎

Main Tank
Pealocor Conjurer

image.png

I didn't realise before that the Pelacor Conjurer is such a good card until I started using him on higher levels. He cost only 2 mana and he has quite high speed, which allows him to dodge or absorb a lot of incoming damage. The Magic Reflect ability is amazing ability paired with the Amplify ability from Dax Paragon. 😇

Off-Tank
Runemancer Atuat

image.png

I do not use many Riftwatchers card, because the Chaos Legion cards are much better I think, but some of them in a perfect combination are pretty strong. The Runemancer Atuat is one of the good ones, because he has high Health and some Armor, so he is well defended. His abilites are the Headwinds, which reduces the Ranged attack of all enemy Monsters. (it is perfect in a mirror match)

The Forcefield makes sure that he is not going to die quickly against big damage dealers and the Last Stand will help him a lot if he will be the last surviving monster on our side. 😁

Damage Dealer and Supporter
Djinn Renova

image.png

The Djinn Renova is an Epic card and it is a Reward card like the Pelacor Conjurer and such is quite cheap to rent or buy at the moment. (they just became out of print recently) She is quite powerful with her 3 Magic attack damage and her Triage ability is able to heal one of my monster in my backline once every round. 😎

Damage Dealer and Main Healer
Venari Crystalsmith

image.png

The Venari Crystalsmith is the perfect card for any Life team, because of her Tank Heal ability, which allows her to heal her tank in the front position in every round. The Venari cards are quite useful like the Pelacors, but they went out of print recently, so this is the time to buy your maximum leveled cards.

Generally speaking the Crystalsmith is a support monster, but General Sloan gives her an extra +1 Ranged attack making her a formidable damage dealer as well. 😉

diablo_divider_no1_life.png

Main Damage Dealer
Pelacor Arbalest

image.png

The Pelacor Arbalest is like a glass cannon damage dealer, because he has a lot of damage (especially with General Sloan) thanks to his Double Strike ability. He is quite unprotected, so he need a lot of support from his fellow teammates. On higher levels he will get the Flying ability, which will give him an extra 15% chance to evade any incoming Melee or Ranged attack. 😌

Cheap Supporter
Dax Paragon

image.png

The mana cap was not so high in this battle, so it was very good that Dax Paragon cost only 2 mana, so he has a space in any low mana battle. He has one Magic damage, which is better than nothing, but I was counting on his Amplify ability combined with the Magic Reflect from my Pelacor Conjurer to deal significant damage back to his attacker. 😁

My strategy in this fight was to deal as much as possible damage in the shortest amount of time, because playing with General Sloan means that I wouldn't have too much protection. There was only two color to choose from, so my opponent will either bring a similar team like mine (that is why I used the Runemancer Atuat) or he will bring an Obsidian with Magic attack creatures. 😎

The Explosive Weaponry played a major role in this battle and placing your monster well would means a lot, because you need to consider that all of monsters on the battlefield will receive the Blast ability.

My opponent made a huge mistake to direct my damage into his Mycelic Slipspawn, which under a normal circumstances would be fine, but he indirectly killed his own support of Goblin Psychic. 😅

The huge damage output from my Pelacor Arbalest finished off his Slipspawn and Psychic at the middle of the first round. 😲

The rest of the monsters within the Obsidian team made a lot of Magic damage, which is the strongest attack type in the game and I almost lost my two monster in the first round as well.

In the second round I took advantage that my monsters are generally faster than the slow Magic attack creatures in the Earth team and such I killed two of his monster before I lost two of mine.

The most important factor that has decided this battle is the fact that my monsters were attacking first and only the surviving enemy monsters could attack back, which was not nearly enough for the win. 😎

If I would use a Blinding Protector as an off-tank this battle would been much easier, but overall I am very happy for this win. 🙏
