Mycelic Slipspawn was first found on the edges of the swamps of Praetoria, in areas where the fetid waters meet with the forests and jungles. It is highly toxic and grows to a substantial size. Death is uncommon for those who touch its fibrous body however, the side effects of its toxins can cause a long list of illnesses and disease, leaving its victims severely debilitated.

When the chaos portal opened and the creeping plague infected the land, the Slipspawn struggled to endure, being completely intolerant to the deadly pandemic. But then Queen Mycelia came, she touched the Slipspawn as she passed it by and it drank from her power, an enduring energy that ran deep and defiantly cast the pestilence of the chaos taint aside. The Slipspawn pulled its roots free from the ground and eagerly danced across the leafy forest floor after her, desperate to follow its saviour and stand by her in the times to come.

The Earth Splinter became very strong after the Chaos Legion Set came out, thanks to the summoner of Obsidian. She is the alternate version of Alric Stormbringer, which I love to play, but unfortunately in Modern format he is not available anymore. 😌

Recently I decided to always rent out the Earth Splinter, because they got so many good monsters that I can't even count. 😊 The Mycelic Slipspawn is one of the good monsters, he is quite expensive costing 9 mana, but her strength is to Divide and Conquer all her enemies. 😁

Let's see his stats and abilities on all levels.

The Mycelic Slipspawn is an interesting monster within the Earth Splinter. He cost 9 mana, which is quite a lot, but in exchange he has + 2 Magic 🔮 attack and a huge Health ❤️ pool on Level 1. Still his most important ability, which he receives on Level 1 is Taunt. This ability makes him the primary target of all the enemy monsters (if they are able to attack him), so giving a huge chance for our team to deal more damage on the enemy team until they are focusing the Slipspawn or try to protect the Mycelic Slipspawn with protection and support abilities.

On Level 4 he receives the Forcefield ability, which makes this Monster takes only 1 damage from attacks with power 5+. This is such a good ability especially in higher leagues, because the higher a monster level is the higher their damage as well. So this ability is a perfect counter against high damage monsters. 😁

On level 10 he receives the Slow ability, which reduces the Speed of all enemy Monsters and further weakening the opposing team and giving extra chances for the Slipspawn to sustain more damage. 😊

Summoner
Obsidian

The Obsidian is strong as Alric Stormbringer, but with a much more heal! I like her a lot, because she got a lot of very powerful magic monsters and it is always hard to choose my lineup. This week battle challenge is the Mycelic Slipspawn*, so it was interesting to see what I can build with the power of the Obsidian.

It is easy to counter the her, but if you are not prepared than you are doomed. The Magic 🔮 attack type is the strongest form of damage in the game, but if you want to mess up your opponent plans than there is a wide variety of Ranged 🏹 monsters waiting for you order. 😊

Main Tank
Unicorn Mustang

The Unicorn Mustang is an excellent tank against magic monsters, so it comes very handy in a mirror battle, where you are facing against another Obsidian. (*Of course you need to pray 🙏 that the opponent doesn't bring another Mustang 😂)

This monster has a huge Health ❤️ Pool, but his most important abilities is the Void (Reducing the damage from Magic attacks.) and Magic Reflect (When hit with Magic damage, it does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker.)

Unfortunately a Level 5 Mustang is quite expensive to buy or rent, renting is around 75-125 DEC per day, but I think he is well worth the price tag! 😉

Kron the Undying

Kron the Undying is in the top 3 monster in the whole Splinterlands. I rented him on Level 3 to acquire the Last Stand ability (Gains increased stats if it's the only Monster on the team alive.), which will make him a GOD 😇 if he will be the last monster on our battlefield. The Heal ability would heal him 5 Health ❤️ in every round (if he is the last monster), yes you heard it right ... every round, which makes him almost invincible! 😊

Mitica Headhunter

The Mitica Headhunter has one of the best Ranged 🏹 attack monster within the Earth Splinter. She has a whooping 5 damage (if not reduced) on Level 4 with the Piercing ability, which means if the Melee or Ranged attack damage is in excess of the target's Armor, the remainder will damage the target's Health.

Using Obsidian and Mitica Headhunter is a good combination, because it will make more difficult to counter my team for my opponent. 😊

Support / Armorer
Queen Mycelia

Queen Mycelia is a support monster, because she doesn't have a lot of damage, but she got some interesting abilities. The first one is Protect, which will give +2 Armor to all friendly Monsters. Her second ability is Amplifiy, which will increase the Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1. The third ability of her is Triage, which will heal the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage. She is an all around monster, which is a must have to rent if you want to have a chance against any kind of threat. 😌

Support / Healer
Spirit Hoarder

The Spirit Hoarder is a similar support like the Queen Mycelia above with the Triage ability, but on Level 3 he also has Blind, which means that all enemy Melee & Ranged attacks have an increased chance of missing their target. This extra chance of miss comes very handy in a battle with a lot of melee and ranged monsters. 🙂

Mycelic Slipspawn

Mycelic Slipspawn is the King of this battle, because he simply refused to die thanks to his fellow supporters the Queen Mycelia and Spirit Hoarder. I have never played this tactic before, because the Queen is quite expensive to get the Triage, but this time I tried and I liked her a lot. The two monster with the Triage ability healed so much on the Mycelic Slipspawn that my opponent wasted a lot of resource trying to kill him, but he couldn't. 😁

My opponent brought a pretty strong team against mine, because currently the Dragon Splinter has the strongest available monsters in the whole game. The mana cap was also high with 56, so he could use all those high mana costs monsters easily. He mixed his team with Death creatures, which are quite strong as well.

I risked a bit with my choice of Splinter, because if he would brought Thaddeus the battle would end up much differently as he would decrease my Magic 🔮 attack by one.

My tactic was to suck all the damage from their backline using the Mycelic Slipspawn Taunt ability and heal him out with two of my monster who has the Triage ability. 🚑

My plan worked so good that my opponent couldn't even kill the Mycelic Slipspawn with his backline creatures and in the mean time I was able to damage him down. 😇
