Zoom prayer meeting 31/8/21

Calvary greetings to us all and happy new month too. Yesterday prayer was really awesome because it was a meeting with a teaching with a new light of exposition. The word of God can not be absolute;it is the most reliable book of all times. God through His word keeps us firm in any in circumstanace we can ever be faced with.

The teaching was centered on the pandemic and what we ought to know and do in times as this.

Here are some of the lessons gained from the prayer meeting;

  • When we are catering for the needy, particularly for the ill, we should be careful so we don't get ourselves infected in the process, especially when we are attending to the elderly that are sick.

  • As children of God, we have the responsibility of catering for one another.

  • We should also not self medicate. When we have symptoms like high fever, loss of tase and smell, etc are likelihood that it is covid related. The test should be taken seriously. Even if we are vacinated, we should still be careful. The dosage of the medication too must be taken rightly. Once a patient is intubated, the chances of survival is very slim . we shouldn't relax in taking seriously the pandemic measures to avert the spread of the virus.

  • It is good to care for one another.
1 Corinthians 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 12:26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

  • Those who are immune competent and with blood group O, seems to be less prone to the attack of the virus.

  • It's God's wish that we should be in good health as our soul prospers too
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

  • God is kind hearted and we should emulate Him too
Psalms 100:5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
God forgives and forgets ,likewise we as His children should forgive and forget too.
Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Hebrews 13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

*Forgiving one another is goodwill. It is God that work in us to forgive one another. When we forgive, it shows that we Christ in us.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

  • we should esteem others more than ourselves. One of the context of being kind hearted is to forgive one another.
Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

  • In as much as we are assured of God's protection, we should also know that everyone is appointed by God to die and after which is judgement.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
We die if only God appointed it. It is God that kill and keeps alive
Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

Even the righteous die. Death does not mean someone is not righteous. It is something that happen both to the good and bad.
Stephen was good but he was stoned to death. Paul was crucified with his heads downwards.
Now, the righteous die, it does not mean that he perish; it is God's mercy to protect him from evil to come.
Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

  • God promised not to leave us or forsake us.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
It is important that we do things that would make God to continue to protect us , which is by keeping His commandment
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
It is God's commandment that we don't forsake the assembly of the brethren.
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

We have a duty to obey the law of God
Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
