Hello Hivers happy Tuesday to all I greet you from this beautiful community giving some of the tips that I implement in the care of my plants in this case , the care of my succulents in winter , our succulents hardy, simple to grow and extremely varied, one of the main reasons for having a veritable legion of fans. However, despite their fame: no, they are not immortal. In fact, the cold can be one of their greatest enemies.
Hola Hivers feliz martes para todos los saludo desde esta preciosa comunidad dando alguno de los tips que implemento en el cuidado de mis plantas en este caso , el cuidado de mis suculentas en invierno , nuestras suculentas resistentes, sencillas de cultivar y sumamente variadas, uno de los principales motivos para tener una auténtica legión de fans. Sin embargo y a pesar de su fama: no, no son inmortales. De hecho, el frío puede ser uno de sus grandes enemigos.
In Venezuela we have only two distinctive seasons: winter, which goes from May to November, is the wet season, with temperatures between 24° C and 27° C; summer, which goes from December to April, is the dry season, the temperature can rise up to 32° C during the day. At the moment we would be in ''Winter'', there is an aspect that has a direct impact on its winter care. Usually, we choose our plants by their appearance without knowing the variety to which they belong and it is a common mistake that we make when acquiring a plant.
En Venezuela contamos con tan solo dos estaciones distintivas: el invierno, que va de Mayo a Noviembre, es la estación húmeda, con temperaturas entre los 24° C y los 27° C; el verano, que va de Diciembre a Abril, es la estación seca, la temperatura puede ascender hasta 32° C durante el día. Actualmente estaríamos en ''Invierno'' hay un aspecto que incide directamente en sus cuidados invernales. Habitualmente, elegimos nuestras plantas por su aspecto sin conocer la variedad a la que pertenecen y es un error común el cual comentemos a la hora de adquirir una planta.

winter is vital for their well being, but with measure like everything else. As with other plants, the sum of water and cold is the perfect breeding ground to kill their roots by freezing but also to cause the appearance of a fungal disease. It is also important to water at the right time, always avoiding the last hours of the day when the temperature drops.
Las suculentas son platntas que para su bienestar el invierno es vital pero con medida como todo ya que la suma de agua y frío es el caldo de cultivo perfecto para matar sus raíces por congelación pero, también, para provocar la aparición de una enfermedad fúngica. Además es importante regar en un horario correcto, evitando siempre las últimas horas del día marcadas por el descenso de la temperatura.
For succulents that spend the winter indoors, we will have to look for a luminous space in which they receive at least eight hours of indirect sun per day. If our plants do not have the light they need, they will let us know by stretching their stems. In addition, and as it would happen if they were outdoors, they need a period of darkness that emulates that of the night outdoors. To have succulents is like having a child, they are a plant of more than one year old.
Para las suculentas que pasen el invierno dentro de casa, tendremos que buscar un espacio luminoso en el que reciban al menos ocho horas de sol indirecto al día. En caso de que nuestras plantas no tengan la luminosidad que demandan, nos lo harán saber estirando sus tallos. Además y como sucedería si estuvieran fuera de casa, necesitan un periodo de oscuridad que emule al de la noche en exterior. El tener suculentas es como tener un hijo , son planta de mucha demanda de tiempo para que estas crezcan grandes y fuertes.
The photos that we contemplate in my post are the different plants that I possess at the moment and as I move them to have a better development of them, since the light influences very much in them, inside house, it is fundamental to place them in a little heated space. It is also advisable that the temperature drops a few degrees for a few hours, as it would if they were out of the house during the night. Let's not forget something important: do not place them near an artificial heat source.
Las fotos que contemplamos en mis post son las distintas plantas que poseo actualmente y como las muevo para tener un mejor desarrollo de ellas , ya que la luz influye muchísimo en ellas ,dentro de casa, es fundamental colocarlas en un espacio poco caldeado. Además es recomendable que la temperatura baje unos grados durante unas horas, como lo haría si estuvieran fuera de casa durante la noche. No olvidemos algo importante: nada de colocarlas cerca de una fuente artificial de calor.
An important issue is to avoid crossing between succulents , for an example I hahaha I made this mistake and now the succulents fight each other and do not develop well , do not grow and I harm the other plants , to make these terrariums is necessary that they are spacious or be constant in being able to water them to other pots .
Un tema importante es evitar el cruce entre las suculentas , para un ejemplo yo jajaja cometí este error y ahora las suculentas se pelean entre ellas y no se desarrollan bien , no crecen y me perjudican a las demás plantas, para hacer estos terrarios es necesario que sean espaciosos o ser constante en el poder regarlas a otras macetas .
