The adulting lesson I'm still learning and My perfect solo Saturday: LOH#307

This week's prompts made me reflect on both the things I’m still learning as an adult , of course, there's no manual for adulting.And also the things I’d enjoy if money and responsibilities took a day off.

I'll begin with the first prompt;

What is one thing you feel like a proper adult should confidently know how to do, but you’re still figuring it out as you go? How do you usually handle it when it comes up? Has it ever led to a funny, stressful, or eye-opening experience?

Ok,
In response to the above prompt;
One thing I’m still learning as an adult is how to ask for financial help without feeling ashamed. And I believe that every adult should know to ask for help when in a difficult situation.

I used to believe that being a responsible adult meant having everything figured out. If I had a financial problem, I felt I should solve it myself. So instead of saying, “I need help,” I would quietly worry, calculate, postpone things, and sometimes carry the burden alone.

I always feel that I should not be bothering another person.
But I have understood that asking for help doesn't make me or any adult irresponsible or weak. We all have seasons when we give and seasons when we need someone to hold our hands.

Sometimes adulthood is simply having the courage to say:
“I’m struggling. Please, can you help me?”
And honestly, that's okay.

             THE SECOND PROMPT:

If you had a completely free, solo Saturday with an unlimited budget, what are the three things you will definitely do?

Well,
I already know my three choices.

Firstly, I would have a luxurious self-care day !
I would start with a delicious breakfast somewhere beautiful, followed by a full day of pampering spa treatments, a relaxing massage, hair appointment, and getting my and facials done.

Sometimes, you just want a day where your only responsibility is to look good, feel good, and enjoy yourself.

Secondly, I will visit a museum or art gallery.
I'd spend a few hours slowly walking through the exhibits, admiring beautiful artwork and learning about history and culture.

There's something peaceful about being surrounded by art and being able to take your time appreciating the little details.

And, of course, I'd take a few pictures for the memories.

And lastly I'd end the day with a quiet dinner

I'd dress up beautifully, wear my favourite perfume and take myself to an amazing restaurant, I'd enjoy good food and listen to good music.No rushing.

After dinner, I'd retreat to a beautiful hotel room, order something small for dessert or a bottle of wine and simply enjoy the peace.

No noise. No obligations. Just me enjoying my own company.

Honestly, a solo day like this sounds less like being alone and more like taking yourself on a date.

In my opinion, I think true financial responsibility is to stop aching on ways to waste your money on trivial things and focus on ways to make more money.
Consumerism is sort of a drug to fill a void. We tell ourselves, I need to have to feel important or valued.
In reality is just an emotion that can be controlled like gluttony, lust or laziness.
People that have a lot of money are very busy. That's because instead of desiring other people things, they desire to work on their business. That's being responsible. Maybe they do it because they don't want to be poor again, but maybe is because they believe their mission in life is something else.
Not saying they are perfect, but my point is that the goal has to be something more than just spend what it took so much effort to build.

I agree that financial responsibility goes beyond simply spending less. For me, it also means understanding why we spend and learning to distinguish genuine needs from emotional wants. Building wealth requires discipline, but I also think enjoying the fruits of your hard work in moderation is part of a healthy relationship with money. The real goal should be having control over money, rather than allowing money or consumerism to control us.

I seen another post similar to this and as i said there we are all trying to figure this shit out life that is.

As for what 3 things i would do i would do is i had a unlimited budget and a free any day.

I would make sure my family had plenty, i would then solve world hunger and spend the rest of the day individually solving peoples finances.

I would be swift in my actions

I love the way you think beyond yourself. Taking care of your family, tackling world hunger, and helping people get financially stable would certainly make that unlimited budget count. And I agree ; we’re all just figuring life out as we go.

What you say is very true; I also used to think when I was little that adults had everything figured out, but now that I'm growing up, I realize they can face a lot of problems.

And yes, finances are certainly one of those issues, but I believe that if we put our minds to it, we’ll find the best way to make it happen.

With rising inflation and the deterioration of the financial system more and more are falling into poverty. Some of my friends are struggling but have not asked for help. I can understand their pride. I know the economy will be getting worse so I am preparing to have temporary roommates, and chances are, it may be more than temporary.

Personal Finance skills should be considered a mandatory basic course taught in public schools. It is NOT, for the reason is that a financially self reliant citizen is not in the interest of the banks, businesses and big government, all want us to be dependent on their services. I didn't play their game so I took my own initiative to learn as much as I can about personal finances. Learn as much as you can from books, videos, tips from friends and professionals.
