The self-help sector has serious problems. It supports the false notion that we are imperfect, damaged, and broken individuals who require fixing. Tragically, it hinders millions of people, just like you, from finding true happiness and fulfilment in the future.
But what if you aren't this inadequate version of yourself? What if being joyful and free was always possible?

Finding this possibility is a journey that reveals the astounding truth that everything you desire has always been present. You won't learn anything novel or unfamiliar. Despite your interruptions, you have always been who you truly are.

You have already experienced the unexpected flash of ecstasy; you have experienced the overwhelming sensation of love;
You have experienced the dazzling sensation of the unity of all; the spark of unplanned creative expression; and the eruption of irrepressible laughter.
You are aware deep down that you are capable of more than you ever thought possible.

If we know where to look, happiness isn't quite as elusive as we would believe. Each of us possesses a river that flows smoothly toward contentment and resting in peace and ease. Every action we perform is an attempt to achieve happiness because this current is so strong.

When you ask for approval, your goal is to feel complete and at ease. When you pursue money or material possessions, you're looking for the moment of comfort that comes when your desire is ultimately satisfied. If you overdo anything, your true motivation is to find inner tranquilly, contentment, and release from stress.
You can believe that you desire a romantic connection, the ideal profession, or even the adoration of your mother. Your true want, however, is the inner yearning to be conflict-free, content, and whole without any sense of being lacking.

You have been looking for this level of comfort your entire life. And you may undoubtedly verify that by personal experience.

However, you won't find it in the things, people, or circumstances of the outside world. Even in the depths of your own thoughts, you won't find it. These are mutable, untrustworthy forms that you cannot rely on to provide or maintain your happiness. If you're looking for something like this, you presumably already know your search will turn up nothing.
The best news of all is that you can have the tranquilly you crave for right now, this this second, and forever. When you learn how to say "Yes!" You will recognise it when you wake up "to the reality of how things really are and stop relying on dreams about how you wish things were.
Realizing the limitless possibility for happiness in every moment requires a dramatic change of perspective. It entails a change in consciousness that invites you to doubt everything you currently take to be true—all the narratives, convictions, hopes, expectations, and feelings that constitute who you currently believe yourself to be—and help you realise that these things are actually the root of your dissatisfaction, unhappiness, and personal suffering.
Examine your thoughts and feelings in an open and sincere manner. Do you:

Are you awaiting the actions of others in order to feel happy?
Are you preoccupied with all the negative aspects of yourself?
Rehashing ideas about what ought to or ought not take place in your life?
Do you experience anxiety, dread, shame, or depression?
Why shouldn't you be happy? You're setting yourself up for disappointment and frustration with these common issues. They trick you into thinking the present is meaningless and that the ease you long for will come at some point in the future.
If only thinking causes you to chase happiness rather than experience it. And the deepest peace and happiness that are currently available to you are lost while you're preoccupied with these thoughts and emotions.

To be clear, we're not only discussing the positive emotion that makes you grin. These are manifestations of it, not even the satisfaction you experience when things go well. The internal struggle with your own experience ceases when you genuinely accept things as it is, and you become not just serene but also joyful and content.
This is the way you naturally are; it's what you were before conditioned habits or emotional distress covered it up. When the pressure to perform, mend, try, and achieve fades, what is left is the simple aliveness. You experience less fear and a deep sense of connection to everything.

This is the happiness that is constantly accessible and only waiting to be found. You may not be aware of it, yet you and I both recognise its presence. This loving presence is present in your true heart, even though it's hidden.
