Today I will tell you about .... THE DEEPEST HOLE IN THE WORLD, MEL WATERS.

In 1997, in Washington, the news spread that in that area there was the deepest hole in the world.
It all began when the famous American presenter Art Bell received a fax from a guy named Mel Waters who claimed to have the deepest hole in the world on his property.
Intrigued, the presenter decided to interview him via radio and Mel stated that for years the previous owners had used this lake hole about 3 meters to throw the waste and that it had never filled up.
It began to be a real obsession for him to be able to measure the depth of this hole, so one day he took some fishing line and tied a half kilogram weight to it and started to slide it down the hole.
He claimed that he reached a depth of 24 km without being able to touch the bottom again, he did not go further because the line could hold a maximum of 9 kg and had already reached 7.
The whole city became curious and everyone wanted to discover its depth.
One day a gentleman suggested to lower a live animal into it, and with the help of a pulley attached to an off-road vehicle they lowered a live sheep, taking care not to hurt it.
As the sheep was swallowed by the darkness they saw tugging on the rope as if someone had grabbed the animal.
They then tried to pull it up immediately but were very surprised at those who saw ...
The sheep had become a bloody piece of meat ... after the shock they decided to throw the animal in the hole.
By now the people were all in turmoil and the news also reached the government that sent its soldiers who brought heavy machinery and barricaded the hole with concrete.
Mel now had only one desire, that is to be thrown in there when he died because he had heard the legend of a dead dog, thrown into that hole and then reappeared alive.
The most bizarre thing is that when searching for the name of MEL WATERS nothing was ever discovered, not even that he had a property in that area, he did not even appear on the telephone directory.
It is said that it may have been the government itself that erased all traces of this man.
But some people went further than looking for Mel and searched satellite images from that time for the hole itself and were amazed when some images in that area were obscured so that nothing could be seen.
To date, if we look at the photos via satellite, we can see that the entire moat has been modified in some way.
It remains a mystery ....

Hoy les hablare de.... EL AGUJERO MAS PROFUNDO DEL MUNDO, MEL WATERS.

En 1997, se difundió la noticia en Washington de que el área era el agujero más profundo del mundo.
Todo comenzó cuando el famoso presentador estadounidense Art Bell recibió un fax de un tipo llamado Mel Waters que afirmaba tener el agujero más profundo del mundo en su propiedad.
Intrigado, el presentador decidió entrevistarlo vía radio y Mel contó que durante años los dueños anteriores habían utilizado este hoyo del lago de unos 3 metros para tirar los desechos y que nunca se había llenado.
Comenzó a ser una verdadera obsesión para él poder medir la profundidad de este agujero, así que un día tomó un hilo de pescar, le ató medio kilo y comenzó a deslizarlo por el agujero.
Afirmó que llegó a una profundidad de 24 km sin poder volver a tocar fondo, no fue más allá porque la línea aguantaba como máximo 9 kg y ya había llegado a 7.
Toda la ciudad se volvió curiosa y todos querían descubrir su profundidad.
Un día un señor sugirió bajar en él un animal vivo, y con la ayuda de una polea unida a un vehículo todoterreno bajaron una oveja viva, cuidando de no lastimarla.
Mientras la oveja era tragada por la oscuridad vieron que tiraban de la cuerda como si alguien hubiera agarrado al animal.
Luego intentaron levantarlo de inmediato, pero se sorprendieron mucho de los que vieron ...
La oveja se había convertido en un pedazo de carne ensangrentada... tras el susto decidieron tirar al animal en el hoyo.
A estas alturas la gente estaba toda agitada y la noticia también llegó al gobierno que envió a sus soldados que trajeron maquinaria pesada y taponaron el hoyo con cemento.
Mel ahora solo tenía un deseo, que lo arrojaran allí cuando muriera, ya que había escuchado la leyenda de un perro muerto, arrojado a ese agujero y luego reapareció con vida.
Lo más bizarro es que al buscar el nombre de MEL WATERS nunca se descubrió nada, ni siquiera que tuviera una propiedad en esa zona, ni siquiera aparecía en la guía telefónica.
Se dice que pudo haber sido el propio gobierno el que borró todo rastro de este hombre.
Pero algunas personas fueron más allá de buscar a Mel y buscaron imágenes satelitales de ese momento para encontrar el agujero en sí y se sorprendieron cuando algunas imágenes en esa área se oscurecieron para que no se pudiera ver nada.
A la fecha, si miramos las fotos vía satélite, podemos ver que todo el foso ha sido modificado de alguna manera.
Sigue siendo un misterio....

Nel 1997 a Washington si sparse la notizie che in quella zona ci fosse il buco più profondo del mondo.
Tutto ebbe inizio quando il famoso presentatore americano Art Bell ricevette un fax da un tizio chiamato Mel Waters il quale asseriva di avere nella sua proprietà il buco più profondo del mondo.
Incuriosito il presentatore decise di intervistarlo via radio e Mel affermò che per anni i proprietari precedenti avessero usato questo buco lago circa 3 metri per buttarci i rifiuti e che non si fosse mai riempito.
Per lui iniziò ad essere una vera ossessione riuscire a misurare la profondità di questo buco, quindi un giorno prese del filo da pesca ci legò un peso da mezzo chilogrammo e iniziò a farlo scendere per il buco.
Affermò che raggiunse i 24 km di profondità senza riuscire a toccare ancora il fondo, non si spinse oltre perché il filo poteva reggere massimo 9 kg e già ne aveva raggiunti 7.
Tutta la città si incuriosi' e tutti volevano scoprire la sua profondità.
Un giorno un signore suggerì di calarci dentro un animale vivo, e con l' aiuto di una puleggia attaccata ad un fuoristrada calarono una pecora viva facendo attenzione di non farle male.
Appena la pecora fu inghiottita dall' oscurità videro dei strattoni alla corda come se qualcuno avesse afferrato l' animale.
Cercarono allora di tirarla subito su ma rimasero molto sorpresi di quelli che videro...
La pecora era diventata un pezzo di carne sanguinante... superato lo shock decisero di buttare l' animale nel buco.
Ormai le persone erano tutte in fermento e la notizia giunse anche al governo che mando i suoi militari i quali portarono macchinari pesanti e barricando il buco con del cemento.
Mel oramai aveva un solo desiderio, ossia alla sua morte essere gettato lì dentro in quanto aveva sentito la leggenda di cane morto, gettato in quel buco e che poi fosse riapparso vivo.
La cosa più bizzarra è che alla ricerca del nome di MEL WATERS non si scoprì mai nulla, neanche che avesse una proprietà in quella zona, non apparve neanche sull' elenco del telefono.
Si dice che può essere stato il governo stesso a cancellare ogni traccia di quest' uomo..
Ma alcune persone si spinsero oltre dal ricercare Mel e cercarono tramite le immagini satellitari di quel periodo il buco stesso e rimasero stupefatti quando alcune immagini in quella zona erano state oscurate in modo da non poter far vedere nulla.
Ad oggi se osserviamo tramite satellite le foto possiamo vedere che l' intero fossato è in qualche modo modificato.
Rimane un mistero....
