Trustworthiness is a virtue. Not everyone possesses it.
The Zapfic Friday invites us to write a 50-words story with "pledge." And here, I have written a story that reveals one who's without his words. One who can't be trusted.
Short but quite thought provoking. I hope you'll not only read it but also pause and think afterwards.

The atmosphere at the Obompe kindred’s annual gathering was lively. The dance group entertained the crowd, food and drinks flowed. Everyone was happy.
Then came donations for the town hall. As Chief Dan stood up, murmurs rose. Though wealthy, he was known for one thing: he seldom redeems a pledge.
