The 7th Floor.

It's another week for the Around the World Challenge, an initiative to share photos of the beauty, locations, sights and structures in our cities. Interested to participate? Read the post guidelines.

While cities like Lagos and Abuja boast of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers, Aba Enyimba city has its own quiet giants.

One of them is Ochioriozuo House, a 7-storey building located on the busy Ehi Road.

what3words

Built over four decades ago, and named after the family, Ochioriozuo, this architectural masterpiece has stood the test of time. Sadly, the original owner is late, but it's still owned and managed by them today.

Ochioriozuo house is not just any building you pass by without noticing it. It's see a landmark building. If you’re going to/from Port Harcourt from Aba park or probably around Asa / Market Road, or maybe you're even visiting the CKC Cathedral, or Shopping Centre, you'll definitely spot it, tall and domineering.

This monumental structure acts as a mixed-use commercial space for various businesses, churches offices, and large promotional billboard.

I’ve been inside a couple of times — for conferences, get-togethers and meetings and I must say that the inside is a different whole world on its own. Honestly, if you're not careful, you’ll miss your way - because the staircases are hiding in places you'd never expect. There's even an underground level most people don't know about.

This building is not just tall, it’s history, a family legacy plus a commercial hub, all in one.

The fact that you said that building was erected decades ago is astonishing, and even still standing at 7 storey without problems at all.

Yeah, the building was actually constructed to stand the test of time. Not like some buildings we see now that collapses anyhow due to cut and join. 😂

Thanks for reaching out. I've had a challenge pining my post since after the update on the site. Tried a couple of times but the code wasn't showing up.

Nevertheless, I'll try the second option when next I'll make a related post.
