Creating a Fabric Case to Protect my iPhone

Creating a Fabric Case to Protect my iPhone.gif

I know I've been missing some crafts for a while, but in my defense, I had a creative block. And when I'm in those times, I prefer to step away and wait for my creative side to come out of nowhere, as it did recently. I've always liked to create things that I know I'm going to use, that, even if they are simple, are really valuable to me because I use them a lot. Actually in my daily life, I go out a lot and I can't go out without my bag, in which I have everything from my agenda, water and so on, to my phone and charger. So my phone tends to scratch a little, to be in contact with various things, that does not worry me so much because it has its tempered glass but if I stress me to be cleaning it all the time, so I thought of making a case to protect it when I put it in the bag.

To make this case I was using materials that were in my house, among them a piece of fabric that my mom bought me to make me a pajama, as well as a strip of bangs with which I made a top recently. Scissors to cut fabric, white thread and needle, since I was going to sew it by hand.

First I took the piece of fabric and placed it on the table, making sure that the print would look good and not the other way around. Then I placed one of the liners on my phone to measure the size, folded the fabric and was cutting leaving 1cm to pass the seam. Quickly I was threading the needle with the white thread and closing it double.

I started to close the cover at the bottom, then I went to the sides and I was turning the cover every now and then to see if I was joining correctly the piece of fabric and there were no empty spaces.

I cut a piece of fabric at the top, so that I could insert my device well and the case would have a small flap to "close". In this step, after making the cut, I was passing a minimal seam half invisible on the sides so that the fabric does not release lint.

Then I just had to cut the piece of fringe and attach it to the outside of the cover, to give it a brighter touch and not to make it look like a simple creation, but something special. I didn't want to attach a brooch or magic clasp because I didn't think it was necessary.

In this easy way I made this case to keep my phone and not to scratch the tempered glass more than it already is. I really love that piece of fabric because it is very soft and the print is super cute. I hope you loved this easy tutorial as much as I did, see you soon!
