Antes que nada, un saludito a toda la comunidad de The Weekend, por aquí una amante de los fines de semanas para hacer cosas diferentes a lo usual y divertirse. En esta primera entra les quiero comentar que la temporada navideña se acerca y eso quiere decir muchas cosas, entre ellos muchos findes de semana super divertidos acompañados de amigos y familia. En mi familia decidimos comenzar desde temprano las celebraciones y finalizando el mes anterior, en uno de los fines de semana de Octubre decidimos celebrar un poco con la comida que nos encanta, las cervezas que nos encantan y con la mejor compañía, únicamente la familia!

First of all, a greeting to all the community of The Weekend, here a lover of weekends to do things different from the usual and have fun. In this first post I want to tell you that the Christmas season is coming and that means many things, among them many super fun weekends with friends and family. In my family we decided to start early the celebrations and ending the previous month, in one of the weekends of October we decided to celebrate a little with the food we love, the beers we love and with the best company, only family!

Comenzamos el día haciendo la preparación de las hallacas, eso es como una tradición acá en Venezuela, sentarse en familia a hacer todo lo relacionado con este palto navideño, desde picar los ingredientes, hacer la carne, preparar las hojas, rellenar las hallacas y llevarlas a la cocción. También se suele preparar una ensañada de pechuga de pollo, papa y zanahoria. Debo mencionar que este día de celebración familiar fue un sábado y desde el viernes estábamos en preparación de las Hallacas, ya que esto suele llevarse mucho tiempo aún si muchas personas están ayudando.

We started the day preparing the hallacas, that's like a tradition here in Venezuela, sitting down with the family to do everything related to this Christmas dish, from chopping the ingredients, making the meat, preparing the leaves, stuffing the hallacas and taking them to the baking. It is also common to prepare an ensañada of chicken breast, potato and carrot. I should mention that this day of family celebration was on a Saturday and since Friday we were preparing the Hallacas, as this usually takes a long time even if many people are helping.

Luego tuvimos el almuerzo pre navideño jaja, cuando lo puse en mis historias muchas personas me respondieron diciendo "¿Hallacas en Octubre?" y yo respondí que si, obviamente, cualquier mes del año es un buen mes para comer unas exquisitas hallacas. En el almuerzo yo no suelo hablar demasiado, ya que me concentro en disfrutar mucho la comida, lo que hice fue escuchar como los integrantes de mi familia hablaban entre sí comentando varias cosas en general, como por ejemplo el sabor de la comida, lo bien que es estar tranquilamente en familia y también jugando entre si mientras decían cosas divertidas.

Then we had the pre-Christmas lunch haha, when I put it in my stories many people answered me saying "Hallacas in October?" and I answered yes, obviously, any month of the year is a good month to eat some delicious hallacas. At lunch I don't usually talk too much, since I concentrate on enjoying the food, what I did was to listen as my family members talked to each other commenting on various things in general, such as the taste of the food, how good it is to be quietly in family and also playing with each other while saying funny things.

Minutos antes de tener el almuerzo listo habíamos ido mi padrino y yo a comprar las famosas Cervezas Polar, nos encanta la polarcita negra así que esa fue la que llevamos, de todas las cervezas venezolanas esta es mi favorita y con el calor que hace en Cumaná tomarse una cerveza el fin de semana es la gloria. Por cierto, durante toda la mañana y parte del almuerzo estuvimos escuchando las primeras gaitas del año, esta música solo puede significar alegrías, creo que durante todo el día se estuvo escuchando ese tipo de canciones navideñas.

Minutes before lunch was ready, my godfather and I had gone to buy the famous Polar beers, we love the black Polar, so that was the one we took, of all the Venezuelan beers this is my favorite and with the heat in Cumana having a beer on the weekend is the glory. By the way, during the whole morning and part of the lunch we were listening to the first gaitas of the year, this music can only mean joy, I think that during the whole day we were listening to this kind of Christmas songs.
