Making Falafel at Home - Accompanied with Pita Bread

En mi paĂs la comida rápida es algo que se consume de una manera muy frecuente, hay una variedad muy grande de platos quĂ© son muy ricos la verdad particularmente a mĂ me encanta la pizza las hamburguesas y los perros calientes. No sĂ© si considerar al falafel cĂłmo lo preparaban aquĂ en Venezuela como una comida rápida, pero yo creo que sĂ porque la verdad es que en el centro de mi ciudad se comercia bastante, esto son las croquetas de falafel colocadas en un pan pita, acompañado con lechuga tomate y otras cosas. TenĂa muchas ganas de comer algo similar asĂ que decidĂ preparar algo similar, pero a mi manera.
In my country fast food is something that is consumed in a very frequent way, there is a very large variety of dishes that are very rich, the truth is that I particularly love pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs. I do not know whether to consider the falafel as prepared here in Venezuela as a fast food, but I think so because the truth is that in the center of my city is eaten quite a lot, this is the falafel croquettes placed in a pita bread, accompanied with lettuce, tomato and other things. I really wanted to eat something similar so I decided to prepare something similar, but in my own way.
Ingredients:
- Pan Pita
- Garbanzos
- Lechuga
- Tomate
- Cebolla
- Ajo
- Perejil
- Salsas
- Pita bread
- Chickpeas
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Onion
- Garlic
- Parsley
- Sauces
Estuve comprando una lata de garbanzos lo puse a remojar, esperé unas cuantas horas a que estuviera un poco más blandos y luego los estuve pelando, quitándoles la concha y lo comencé a triturar. Una vez que estuvo casi por completo triturado le añadà que sal, pimienta y otros condimentos, básicamente como hacer una croqueta después en la licuadora coloqué, ajo, cebolla perejil, que después de licuar añadà a la mezcla.
â™ 2 I bought a can of chickpeas and soaked them, waited a few hours until they were a little softer and then I peeled them, removed the shells and started to grind them. Once it was almost completely crushed I added salt, pepper and other seasonings, basically like making a croquette, then in the blender I put garlic, onion, parsley, which after blending I added to the mixture.
Seguidamente estuve amasando la mezcla, como me estaba quedando un poco lĂquida, muy flojita, le coloque un poquito de pan rallado y pase a formar bolitas, las cuales estuve friendo en un sartĂ©n con suficiente aceite. Al principio se me estaban rompiendo y la soluciĂłn a ello fue hacer las bolitas mucho más gruesas, colocar mucho más aceite para que no se rompiera y se quedarán compactas, las estuve friendo a mi gusto, bastante doradas.
Next I was kneading the mixture, as it was getting a little liquid, very loose, I added a little bit of bread crumbs and formed little balls, which I was frying in a pan with enough oil. At first they were breaking and the solution to this was to make the balls much thicker, put much more oil so that they would not break and would remain compact, I was frying them to my liking, quite golden.
Mientras las croquetas estaban friendo habĂa colocado en un recipiente con agua y vinagre la lechuga y el tomate. Una vez las croquetas estuvieron fritas coloque en un plato el pan pita, tambiĂ©n lo llaman pan árabe, le añadĂ la lechuga, seguidamente coloque tres rodajas de tomate, tres croquetas de falafel y añadir salsa. Por cierto, me dijeron que el Falafel no lleva salsa de tomate, pero es que yo no puedo vivir sin la salsa de tomate, asĂ que igual se lo coloquĂ©. Por Ăşltimo, le añadĂ una salsa agria que realice con ajo y perejil y tambiĂ©n añade un poquito de mayonesa, lo enrolla y eso fue todo.
While the croquettes were frying I put the lettuce and tomato in a bowl with water and vinegar. Once the croquettes were fried I placed on a plate the pita bread, also called Arabic bread, I added the lettuce, then placed three slices of tomato, three falafel croquettes and add sauce. By the way, I was told that Falafel does not have tomato sauce, but I cannot live without tomato sauce, so I added it anyway. Finally, I added a sour sauce that I made with garlic and parsley and also added a little bit of mayonnaise, rolled it up and that was it.
No conseguĂ una receta como tal para guiarme solo vi cĂłmo se hacĂan las croquetas en un video y dije: “bueno le voy a intentar”. Para hacer el pan y el relleno no conseguĂ un tutorial, asĂ que lo hice como yo pensĂ© que se hacĂa, a lo mejor no es asĂ y como mencionĂ© anteriormente supuestamente esto no lleva salsa de tomate. Pero de igual forma esto es una receta a mi manera asĂ que asĂ fue como me gustĂł y la hice. En mi casa a todos le encantĂł la comida fue una cena sĂşper genial para compartir en familia y la cual acompañamos con refresco, espero hacer una receta similar, pero en la prĂłxima ocasiĂłn me encantarĂa hacer shawarma. Espero que les haya gustado está receta tan peculiar nos vemos pronto.
I didn't get a recipe as such to guide me I just saw how the croquettes were made in a video and I said: "well I'll try it". To make the bread and filling I didn't get a tutorial, so I did it the way I thought it was done, maybe it's not and as I mentioned before supposedly this doesn't have tomato sauce in it. But anyway this is a recipe my way so that's how I liked it and made it. In my house everyone loved the food, it was a great dinner to share with the family and we accompanied it with soda, I hope to make a similar recipe, but next time I would love to make shawarma.
