La semana anterior les había presentado una reseña del primer libro de la trilogía llamada “Cazadora de Hadas”, de mi escritora favorita, Jennifer L. Armentrout. Como les comenté en el post anterior, estos libros no me sorprendieron demasiado, creo que mis expectativas estaban muy altas debido a que es mi escritora favorita. Pero, aun así, terminé la historia principal y vengo con mi híbrido de resumen y reseña que siempre les hago cuando termino de leer un libro. En este caso vamos a hablar de “Semihumana” continuando la historia de Ivy Morgan.

The week before I had brought you a review of the first book of the trilogy called "Fairy Slayer" by my favorite author, Jennifer L. Armentrout. As I told you in the previous post, these books didn't surprise me too much, I think my expectations were too high due to the fact that she is my favorite writer. But, still, I finished the main story and I come with my hybrid of summary and review that I always do when I finish reading a book. In this case we are going to talk about "Semihuman" continuing the story of Ivy Morgan.

No sé si les aclaré antes, pero un Semihumano es el producto de la relación de un Fae con un Humano, cosa que por raro que parezca no es muy común. Ivy se da cuenta de que ella es la semihumana de New Orleans que todo el mundo ha estado buscando, pero no logra saber como, puesto que no lo creía de sus padres y, a decir verdad, no recuerdo cómo pasó. Otra cosa que no les conté, es que en el primer libro nos introducen a Think, un duende que Ivy rescató una vez y no pudo matarlo, así que se quedó cuidando como si fuese una mascota, o algo parecido. Think es un duende que siempre está en tamaño pequeño, pero algo que Ivy no sabía es que Think tiene su forma de humano y es bastante poderoso. Digamos que los 3 se vuelven más unidos, y más cuando los faes más antiguos van tras Ivy, aunque “nadie” sabe por esto que es así. Incluso, Ivy llega a encontrar a su amiga Val, la que los traicionó y, en un intento por obtener respuestas, esta muere a manos de Drake, el príncipe de los faes.

I don't know if I made it clear before, but a Semi-Human is the product of a Fae's relationship with a Human, which oddly enough is not very common. Ivy realizes that she is the Semi-Human from New Orleans that everyone has been looking for, but she doesn't manage to find out how, since she didn't believe it from her parents and, to tell you the truth, I don't remember how it happened. Another thing I didn't tell you, is that in the first book we are introduced to Think, a leprechaun that Ivy rescued once and couldn't kill him, so he was left caring for him as if he were a pet, or something like that. Think is a goblin who is always in small size, but something Ivy didn't know is that Think has his human form and is quite powerful. Let's just say that the 3 of them become closer, and more so when the older fae go after Ivy, although "no one" knows from this that this is the case. Ivy even manages to find her friend Val, the one who betrayed them and, in an attempt to get answers, she dies at the hands of Drake, the prince of the faes.

Cuando Ivy decide ser honesta y confesarle a Ren que ella es la semihumana, los secuestran a ambos. Primero a Ren, quien se va enojando, y luego a ella, cuando cae en una trampa de Drake por intentar acostarse con ella. Pues, eso no lo mencioné, pero la semihumana es importante, ya que solo un hijo de ella con Drake, bajo su consentimiento, sería la clave para abrir los portales. Con respecto al secuestro de Ren, este sale libro debido a un trato que hizo Ivy junto con Drake. Ella se quedó, medio torturada, drogada, porque se alimentaba de humanos y con los días contados, viendo lo peor de los faes. Al Ivy alimentarse de las almas de los humanos, esta quedaban muy drogadas, así que no podía hacer nada para escapar, hasta que Faye, una fae buena, la salvó.

When Ivy decides to be honest and confess to Ren that she is the half-human, they are both kidnapped. First Ren, who goes off in a huff, and then her, when she falls into a trap by Drake for trying to sleep with her. Well, I didn't mention that, but the half-human is important, since only a child of hers with Drake, under her consent, would be the key to open the portals. Regarding Ren's kidnapping, this comes out book due to a deal Ivy made along with Drake. She was left, half tortured, drugged, because she was feeding on humans and with her days numbered, seeing the worst of the fae. As Ivy fed on the souls of humans, she was heavily drugged, so she could do nothing to escape, until Faye, a good fae, saved her.
