WHY WE CHOOSE TO HOMESCHOOL - advantages / benefits of the Homeschool

Good day homeedders, how are you all doing today. Today I want to respond to a question people often ask us homeedders and homeschoolers and this question is " why did you choose homeschool over the traditional school in a classroom ? Or is homeschooling good ?, What are the advantages ?."

For those of us homeschooling or being homeschooled , one of the questions we are asked is why we choose homeschool over the traditional schools with classrooms and rigid system or whether homeschool is good.

Sometimes people try to persuade and convince us into thinking that homeschooling is not effective, efficient and infact our children will be deficient in several areas if himeschooled and this is not really true.

A lot of us know, love and prefer homeschooling but do not know how to explain our reasons for choosing homeschool. Some others do not even know the benefits of homeschool even though they chose it for themselves or for their children.

Traditional school is good, same as homeschooling, the most important thing is that knowledge should be passed to the child effectively and if the traditional school isn't working or wouldn't work with your child, I advise people to have their children himeschooled. I do not think homeschool should be played down on. I am a home educator and today I will be sharing with us some of the reasons why people chose the homeschool and the benefits of the homeschool.

I hope after now, you wouldn't let anyone talk you into believing that you're doing the wrong thing by homeschooling or being homeschooled or even having your child himeschooled.

So these are the advantages of homeschool, it's the reason we chose the homeschool :

Home school offers academic flexibility :

Here is a picture of myself and one of my students, she is not a very fast learner but in the homeschool, I let her take her time to think and I teach with her pace.

Yes!, homeschool can work for every kind of child, whether fast learners or slow learners. It's a one-on-one class so the children learn at their pace and are not been rushed.
Sometimes you find very smart children with great potential who are limited, deterred and restricted because they have to move at the same pace with other children. There are other cases where you find children with very slow rate of comprehension who have been forced to move at the same pace as others in a class. This often times leads to frustration as these kids would be looked at as dullards because they can't cope with the pace. It also makes them depressed, hate school and it even kill their self esteem and confidence. Homeschool puts an end to all such misdemeanors and ensures a comfortable and healthy learning process and environment.

Home school helps you meet current need of a child:

Unlike in the traditional classrooms where so many students are taught at the same time and where the need of a particular student cannot be prioritised, homeschool allows you meet the current need of a child, whether in their academics or emotional, mental, behavioral or physical. This is due to the fact that you have lesser students to focus on and also because of its flexible nature. So in homeschool whatever area the child lacks in can be tackled immediately

Homeschool can work for families with special situations:

For families like military families or families of clergy men and other families who travel and change their base very regularly, and also for families dealing with health issues and tight work schedules, homeschooling really helps out as it ensures stability and works very effectively.

safe and comfortable learning environment :

The homeschool provides a safe learning environment for children. Cases of bullying, discrimination and every form of abuse are absent. Also peer pressure and negative influence from bad company is also absent. So parents do not have to fear about the safety of their children. Also the children feels very much comfortable at home and when the children are comfortable and relaxed, they assimilate better as they tend to enjoy their lessons.

In the homeschool, all the attention is focused on the child. He is the priority and is given undivided attention unlike the traditional schools where the attention is shared amongst all the students with different challenges. This is actually the main benefit of homeschooling.

Home schooling saves time that would have been wasted in traditional schools through ; assembly and unnecessary extracurricular activities etc. It helps the kids and parents optimise time and channel that time to something more profitable.

Homeschooling Eliminates irrelevant, unnecessary and unhealthy competition amongst peers.

Often times in our traditional schools, children struggle to outdo the other and not just to perform well for themselves. this brings about strive and hate, it also results to depression especially when one fails to outdo the other or when a particular child is awarded and the others neglected. This affects the child psychology and makes them see education from a different light. The struggle for grades makes deviates their focus from actually trying to learn, understand and master what they're taught to trying to get good grades at all cost. This even sometimes make them cheat and engage in all sorts of examination malpractice. All this is curbed in homeschool as their is no one to outdo and the focus is to impart knowledge in the child and make sure he/she understands.

Homeschool helps children to bond with their parents and family :

This is another important advantage of homeschool. It helps children to bond with their family. Because of how much time the children spend in traditional schools and because of how busy parents are these days, parents and children don't get to bond so well. Some parents don't even know their children so well. They don't know their weaknesses or strengths.
Homeschool creates an avenue for parents to bond well with their kids and this would create a more loving family
